Chapter 180: Toppling the Warships

"Rear Admiral Dolo, the G8 Branch has fallen. Vice Admiral Sakazuki is currently fighting the evil pirates, but the Dragon Flame Pirate Crew hasn't withdrawn!"

The adjutant rushed up to a middle-aged man with a sharp, gloomy face, dressed in a white suit with a Marine rear admiral's coat draped over his shoulders, and reported urgently.

  "Prepare for bombardment. Indiscriminate attack!"

Rear Admiral Dolo said in a deep voice.

  "Yes!"

The adjutant hesitated for a moment, then responded.

Very soon, the three warships were less than fifty meters away from G8 Fortress.

Battery after battery aimed at G8 Fortress, the pitch-black muzzles gleaming with cold light.

  "Fire—"

Just as the adjutant was about to give the order, the sky suddenly darkened.

The adjutant looked up in confusion.

His pupils shrank sharply, his face turning pale.

  "Watch out—"

  He shouted.

A gigantic Wind God descended from the sky, its massive flesh wings flapping violently.

  Boom rumble!

A colossal tornado formed among the three warships, wrapping them inside and slowly spinning them around.

  "Ah—"

  "Get down!"

  "Help!"

Screams rang out one after another.

Rear Admiral Dolo's face turned extremely ugly. He stomped hard on the deck, leapt into the air, and raised his right leg high above his head.

  "Tempest Kick: Mountain Sever!"

With a loud shout, he kicked out an enormous air blade that slashed toward the Wind God in the sky.

  Bang bang bang…

The tornado was sliced apart and dispersed.

But Rear Admiral Dolo repeatedly stepped on the air, slowly descending back onto the ship.

  Boom!!

The slash struck the Wind God, only to be casually crushed by a single claw.

  "Yah~"

The Wind God let out a sharp cry, then suddenly flapped its wings downward.

Terrifying gusts of wind surged out in waves. Ripples rose on the sea's surface, the waves growing larger and larger. The warships began to sway violently, blown into wild rocking.

  "Reef the sails!"

  The adjutant shouted.

  Bang!

A massive wave slammed into a warship, causing it to tilt sharply, nearly capsizing.

  "Damn it!"

Rear Admiral Dolo roared, stepping through the air with Moonwalk as he charged toward the Wind God Quetzalcoatlus in the sky.

The Wind God glanced at this antlike figure and swept a massive flesh wing toward him.

  Bang!

The sky-covering wing crashed down like the collapse of heaven itself, slamming into him—there was no way to dodge it.

  "Pff…"

Rear Admiral Dolo felt an overwhelming, terrifying force strike his body, as if he were being smashed to pieces. A mouthful of blood burst out uncontrollably, turning into a rain of blood in the sky.

His body then fell downward like a rag doll.

Below, the warships were overturned by the increasingly massive waves. Fortunately, not many Marines were killed.

The Wind God did not kill them either. After seeing the ships capsize, it hovered in the air watching them, occasionally flapping its wings.

  Time gradually passed.

  Five hours later.

On the mountain island behind the fortress.

  Boom!!

Two figures were blasted apart, landing several hundred meters away and smashing into rock and earth.

Most of the area within a thousand meters was covered in magma, pitted and uneven, making it obvious how fierce the battle had been.

  "Pff…"

Jiang Qize spat out a mouthful of blood. Grinning, he slowly stood up. His body was scorched black all over, and there was a deeply sunken fist imprint in his back. His upper garment had already been torn to shreds.

"As expected… pseudo–admiral-level strength still can't compare to true admiral level. But luckily, this isn't Akainu from ten-plus years later. Otherwise, I really wouldn't have been able to beat him."

Jiang Qize bared a row of bloodstained teeth as he smiled. Lightning crackled across his body as pieces of scabbed skin fell away, replaced by tender, reddish new flesh.

Although he was injured, with his many ability boosts and powerful physique, he only needed to slightly stimulate his cells with lightning to speed up healing. As long as the wounds weren't fatal, he could maintain peak combat strength at all times.
