Chapter 173: Entering the Marine Fortress
Very quickly, the Dragon Flame arrived in front of the G-8 Marine Fortress. Above it, all the Marines stood in tight formation, each gripping a long gun and staring solemnly at the enormous Dragon Flame, shock visible in their eyes.
They had only heard of the Dragon Flame Pirates and seen photos on bounty posters. They had never actually seen them in person.
Now that this ship had appeared before them, a sense of awe rose from the depths of their hearts and filled their minds.
This ship was simply too massive, too magnificent. The dragon head at its prow was lifelike, as if it were a true dragon straight out of myth, compelling all to submit.
Among the Marines, no ship could compare to the one before them—not even the personal vessels of the Marine admirals.
And what shocked them even more was that the ship was made entirely of metal.
They truly couldn't understand how a metal-built ship could sail on the sea. Wouldn't it sink?
At the same time, they were utterly stunned by the giant on the ship. He was far too large—just sitting there, his height already reached tens of meters above the height of their fortress walls.
One had to know that G-8 was one of the largest Marine fortresses in existence.
Although they were aware that the Dragon Flame Pirates had an enormous giant pirate—a super powerhouse capable of swatting Vice Admiral Sakazuki away—they hadn't expected him to be this huge.
Still, this was a Marine fortress. With many strong fighters and a vast arsenal of weapons, they weren't afraid.
Without orders, they didn't make a move. They simply watched as the Dragon Flame Pirates entered the fortress.
Inside the fortress was a vast, rugged harbor. Numerous warships were docked within it, along with a long corridor that was now completely filled with Marines.
"So many Marines…"
Buck exaggeratedly opened his mouth wide as he looked at the densely packed soldiers.
"Tsk… looks like our bounties will probably hit over a hundred million after this. This is a Marine fortress, after all."
Camon grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth. His honest face instantly turned ferocious.
Soon, the Dragon Flame reached the center of the fortress.
Buzz!!
The massive fortress gates slowly closed, and the Dragon Flame Pirates became fish trapped in a jar.
"Summoner Ze, I didn't expect you'd really dare come in. I have to admire your courage!"
Jonathan's voice echoed throughout the entire fortress.
"It's just a small Marine fortress."
A smile hung on Jiang Qize's lips as his gaze turned toward a figure standing on a balcony a hundred meters away.
The white fur cloak on his body fluttered without any wind, his three thousand strands of silver hair flowing freely as an invisible pressure rippled outward.
"Arrogant!"
Jonathan Buckd coldly.
As a Marine vice admiral, his strength was naturally formidable. What kind of enemies hadn't he seen before? Yet now he was being looked down upon by some brat.
The G-8 Fortress, which had exterminated countless pirates, was being called a "small fortress." This was a slap to his face.
"I'm curious—does this fortress… have money?"
Jiang Qize ignored his anger and continued speaking with a smile.
"Hmph. Summoner Ze, no matter what you say today, the Dragon Flame Pirates will vanish from these seas!"
After finishing coldly, Jonathan gave the order directly.
"Attack!"
Upon receiving the command, the Marines immediately launched their assault.
Boom boom boom boom…
Black cannonballs rained toward the Dragon Flame Pirates at the center, forming a dense barrage.
Jiang Qize smiled faintly.
Buzz!!
Suddenly, a tangible golden wave erupted from his body and swept outward in all directions.
Buzz buzz buzz…
As this materialized Conqueror's Haki washed over the cannonballs, the shells seemed to freeze in midair.
As if time itself had stopped.
Then—buzz—the cannonballs flew backward.
