Chapter 154: Above the Sky Island
The Wind God beat its wings, and its massive body rose with the wind, soaring upward until it vanished into the sky.
"We should head out too."
Raptorex brushed the sand off himself and slowly stood up after watching the wyvern disappear.
"Raptorex, we haven't tested this one yet…"
Kamakiri looked at the two devices on the ground—each made from several Wind Dials and a Giant Jet Dial.
"Test it slowly once we're at sea."
"Oh… okay…"
They had nothing to pack. What they came with was what they left with—just now with two extra weapons.
Before long, they left the warship island behind.
Less than an hour after their departure, two Marine warships slowly approached across the sea.
On the deck—
Rear Admiral Leer looked at the shattered remains of the warship floating on the water, his expression extremely grim.
"Rear Admiral Leer, we found six bodies—all soldiers under Rear Admiral Reyes."
An adjutant stepped forward and reported in a low tone.
"What about the others?" Leer's brows tightened, a flash of killing intent passing through his eyes.
"No sign of them." The adjutant kept his head lowered.
"Keep searching. Question the people on Warship Island!"
"Yes, sir!"
The warships pulled into shore.
Large numbers of Marines disemBuckd.
"Rear Admiral Leer, someone has been here—recently."
The adjutant spoke in a solemn tone.
Leer glanced at the massive skeletons nearby. From those alone, he could tell Reyes and his men had encountered a formidable enemy. Anyone capable of devouring an entire Sea King was no ordinary foe.
It seemed… the chances of those men surviving were slim.
"Sir! We found villagers from Warship Village!"
A Marine ran over to report.
"Bring them."
"Yes, sir."
Several villagers were soon brought over—old and young.
"Tell me everything that happened here. All of it."
Leer's sharp eyes swept over them as he spoke coldly.
"Sir… yesterday a giant came here… so we hid in the mountains. After that, we don't know anything…"
A simple-looking middle-aged man trembled as he spoke.
"Yes, the giant was as tall as a mountain—dark blue in color," an elderly woman added nervously.
Leer watched their faces, trying to determine if they were lying.
After a while, all he saw was fear and anxiety.
"Fine. Let them go. Search the entire island."
He said indifferently, then turned to look out at the sea.
...
On Sky Island—
The Wind God had already returned.
Inside the God's Palace—
More than thirty Marine soldiers, along with Rear Admiral Reyes, were tied up and seated on the ground. Beside them were three giant eggs and a Millennium Dragon.
"So Sky Island… really exists…"
Reyes felt his mind shaking. He never imagined he'd be captured and brought to the legendary Sky Island.
The clear sound of footsteps echoed from ahead.
He looked up.
A young man stepped out—silver hair flowing, sharp and ethereal features, black shirt, white fur-lined coat. His presence was cold and almost otherworldly.
Reyes's pupils shrank. The youth looked… familiar.
He thought about it carefully—then sucked in a sharp breath.
Wasn't this the Dragon Flame Pirates' captain, the Summoner Ze, from a while ago?
And now he was here—on Sky Island.
And he had so many terrifyingly powerful subordinates.
A chill crawled down Reyes's spine.
Just what was the Dragon Flame Pirates' true goal…?
So many strong fighters—and yet the seas had never heard a whisper about them.
For a moment, he truly wished he could escape—return to Marine Headquarters—and report this secret immediately.
