Chapter 142: Ba wang Fuses with the Rumble-Rumble Fruit

A few minutes later, the lightning around Ba wang slowly receded, and everything returned to calm.

Watching this, Jiang Qize's lips lifted slightly. He raised his hand; arcs of electricity crackled across his palm.

He possessed a trace of Ba wang's lightning ability as well, though it probably wasn't strong enough to kill anyone.

"How do you feel?" he asked.

This was the second Devil Fruit Ba wang had fused with. He didn't want anything to go wrong.

"Very good. This lightning ability is extremely useful," Ba wang replied with a nod.

"Good."

"This is the Logia-type Rumble-Rumble Fruit. You can become lightning, move at lightning speed through conductive materials and through the air, generate heat, act as a power source, and use electromagnetic signals to observe everything. It has a lot of applications. I want you to develop it well."

Jiang Qize told him everything he knew.

This world had lost too many things, making it less fun. If possible, he wanted to recreate as much from Earth as he could—and that meant relying on Ba wang.

"Yes, sir. I'll do my best," Ba wang said in a low voice.

"Good. You may go."

Jiang Qize nodded with a faint smile.

Ba wang withdrew.

Jiang Qize let out a quiet breath. Thankfully, he hadn't spent all his money on enhancements earlier—otherwise he wouldn't have had the funds for last night's synthesis.

Time passed, and morning arrived quickly.

At dawn, Jiang Qize took a Dinosaur Fruit and rode the Wind God toward Birka.

Within ten minutes, he reached the island again.

Vmm!

Hearing the sound, Birka's residents instantly knew what was coming. They poured out of their houses, looking up at the sky.

"What's that guy on the giant bird doing… he's back again."

"Who knows where he even came from? Are there really people living outside of Birka?"

"No idea."

The chatter began once more.

"Kyah~!"

A sharp cry rang out as the sky darkened. A massive shadow descended.

BOOM!!

The ground trembled violently, the cloud-rock splitting apart.

The residents stumbled back in fear, staring wide-eyed.

Jiang Qize stood up slowly. His silver hair drifted in the wind, a faint breeze spreading from him.

He cast them a cold glance, then headed straight toward Enel.

He didn't hold the slightest fondness for the people of Birka.

And soon… Birka likely wouldn't exist anymore.

He reached the shabby hut cobbled together from cloud-rock—barely better than a doghouse. Enel sat inside, arms wrapped around his knees, his head buried.

The place didn't even have a door.

Or rather, the door had long since been destroyed.

Step.

A footstep echoed in Enel's ears.

It was nothing like the footsteps he usually heard, so he lifted his head. His expression remained blank, eyes calm as they met the newcomer.

But the moment he saw Jiang Qize, a flicker of confusion crossed his gaze—he had never seen this person before.

And… he looked really cool.
