Chapter 117: Garp Throws Cannonballs

Bawang pressed a button on the control panel.

Click… vrrrm!

Steel plates beneath the Dragonflame split open, letting seawater rush inside.

The ship sank slightly, greatly reducing the whirlpool's pull.

The vortex grew larger and larger—hundreds of meters across—while the Dragonflame slowly rotated along its outer edge, drawn by the swirling current.

"Ya~"

Wukong the pteranodon descended and landed on the deck. It had no way of breaking through the White Sea on its own—it wasn't a Quetzalcoatlus.

Canglong, meanwhile, was circling in the water below, its massive body visible only as a shifting black shadow beneath the surface.

Far in the distance, aboard the dog-headed warship—

"Bring me cannonballs."

Garp stared at the golden dragon-shaped ship in the distance and spoke coolly.

Four elite marines came carrying two large crates filled with black cannonballs, each one slightly larger than standard shells.

Garp grabbed two cannonballs—one in each hand—and tested their weight. His fists were instantly wrapped in a dense coating of jet-black Armament Haki, radiating a crushing aura.

Then he hurled them toward the Dragonflame.

The cannonballs shot out like bullets.

Garp didn't stop. He kept grabbing and throwing, launching a literal rain of cannonballs through the air.

"Ya~!"

A piercing screech rang out.

A massive shadow swooped down from the sky, sliding between the Dragonflame and the warship.

The Quetzalcoatlus.

Its enormous wings swept downward with violent force, creating two massive whirlwinds that spiraled toward the incoming shells.

Garp's cannonballs were no ordinary shots—they forced their way through the center of the whirlwinds. But they only pushed that far. Before they could break through completely, their momentum died and they detonated in midair.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!

A series of explosions lit up the sea like blooming firework bursts. The blasts finally tore apart the twin whirlwinds.

But the Quetzalcoatlus had created them casually. If it wanted ten more, it could make ten more.

It flapped its wings again, forming two new gigantic spirals of wind.

Garp's expression grew more serious.

"This pterosaur… it's strong. So it belongs to the Dragonflame Pirates too…"

In this world, size equaled strength. That saying wasn't wrong at all—larger creatures naturally possessed more power than smaller ones.

It wasn't even something to debate.

If every creature were the size of Zunesha, no Devil Fruit would matter. One stomp would level mountains.

Compared to Zunesha, the Quetzalcoatlus was no more than an ant.

But even so, in their eyes it was still enormous, and the fact it could create two massive whirlwinds with a single flap proved its strength clearly.

At this moment, the vortexing sea had stilled. The surface returned to complete calm, as if nothing had happened.

But Jiang Qize knew—the eruption was coming.

"Everyone get inside and lock the doors."

His voice was deep.

The order was for Camon and the others. Bawang remained on deck. The giant Ryuryu had no room of its own and stayed outside as well, with the little monkey and Wukong perched on its shoulder, curiously scanning their surroundings with no concept of fear.

Jiang Qize could already feel the undercurrent raging beneath them. The Dragonflame began to vibrate.

His expression tightened. He gathered all his strength and pressed his full weight into the ship.

Ryuryu grabbed hold of Bawang to keep him from being flung away.

BOOM!!!

Just as they finished preparing, a monstrous jet of seawater blasted upward from below. The sheer force of it made the Dragonflame jolt violently, nearly launching the entire ship into the air.
