Chapter 106: Arrival at Jaya Island
"Captain, is there really an island in the sky?"
By the pool, a few people sat on the lawn. Little Robin looked up at him with curiosity.
"Of course. There are many incredible things in this world. You'll see them one by one."
Jiang Qize sat cross-legged, a cup of wine in hand. His long silver hair trailed across the grass, reflecting brilliant light under the sun.
"Then what do the people on Sky Island eat? Don't they starve?" Camon also asked curiously.
"Every place in this world has different magnetic fields and different living conditions. Creatures that live there gradually evolve to adapt to those conditions.
Sky Island has its own evolved lifeforms, just like the creatures in our sea."
Jiang Qize replied with a smile.
"Oh, oh—then how do we get up there?"
"For that, you'll have to ask Ba Wang."
Originally, he had planned to use the Knock-Up Stream to rise, but the Dragonflame was far too large. It might not be able to push a ship this gigantic up ten thousand meters into the sky.
Ba Wang wasn't here; he was busy in the laboratory.
Inside the Dragonflame was a special lab built entirely for him. Right now, he was tinkering with something inside.
Jiang Qize wasn't worried about reaching Sky Island himself. At worst, he could leave the Dragonflame floating beneath the clouds and fly up on the Quetzalcoatlus.
The problem was, if he did that, the ship would be drifting for a long time—because he wanted Robin and the others to stay on Sky Island for a while to train. That wouldn't be a short stay.
And more importantly… he planned to take over all of Sky Island.
Sky Island was an ideal base—easy to defend, hard to invade. And the dials found there would be a perfect source of income.
Most importantly, the island held a Logia fruit—the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, one of the strongest of all.
"I wonder if Enel has eaten the fruit yet."
He didn't know exactly when Enel ate the Rumble-Rumble Fruit and destroyed his homeland before ruling Sky Island.
This was twenty years before the main story, so much remained unknown.
"Yaa~"
At that moment, the Quetzalcoatlus let out a cry.
Camon immediately jumped to his feet and ran to the bow.
"Captain, we've reached Jaya Island!" Camon shouted in shock.
He was stunned—according to the charts, the trip from Alabasta to Jaya took at least two days. But they had arrived in just one. That was unbelievable.
Camon was stunned, but the people in Mock Town were even more shocked.
"My god, what is that…"
"Look at that—look at that! Is that even a ship?!"
"Look at that flag! That's the Dragonflame Pirates!"
"It really is them! Their total bounty is over two hundred million!"
"They actually came to Jaya Island."
"That ship is huge… if only it were ours."
"Do you think the Dragonflame Pirates are recruiting? I want to join."
Most people stared in awe, some with greedy eyes, others with calculating gazes, their thoughts unclear.
"This ship belongs to the Kimo Pirates."
A harsh, arrogant voice suddenly rang out.
Everyone turned.
A terrifying man—two and a half meters tall, muscular, covered in scars—walked forward with several vicious pirates flanking him. His eyes burned with greed as he stared at the distant Dragonflame.
"That's Kimo…"
"The Kimo Pirates… he's an eighty-million-berry pirate. I heard that whenever they raid a village, all the men lose their minds."
"S-should we get out of here?"
One fair-skinned pirate swallowed nervously.
Moments earlier, a burly brute from the Kimo Pirates had licked his lips at him, making him clench up in fear.
