Chapter 62: Doflamingo's Arrival
"Young master, it's just a Devil Fruit. Do you really need to come here in person?"
Torrebol frowned as he spoke to Doflamingo.
Doflamingo was the head of their family—the future king himself—and for him to personally come all this way over a mere Devil Fruit felt beneath his dignity.
"Fuffuffuffu… that man isn't an ordinary person. The Summoner, Ze—his bounty has already reached a hundred million in just half a month."
Doflamingo let out a dark, sinister laugh.
"But still…"
"Enough. We need partners capable of opening the gates to the New World for us. From now on, that's where our focus will be. If he's got what it takes, then what's the harm in working with him?"
Doflamingo waved a hand to cut him off.
Torrebol stopped talking.
Then Doflamingo pulled out a Den Den Mushi and dialed.
…
Gururu gururu…
In the reindeer territory, Ze heard the Den Den Mushi ringing and paused mid-step.
He took it out, glanced at the shell pattern, and smiled.
"Doffy, you're here?" he said as he answered.
"Fuffuffuffu… just arrived. Where are you?" Doflamingo replied with a grin.
"I'll head back right—"
Ze suddenly froze mid-sentence.
His eyes fixed on a fruit hanging from a nearby tree.
"I'll be back later. Wait for me a bit."
He hung up immediately.
"Hahaha… what's mine will always be mine."
Ze laughed aloud, pushed off with his toes, and leapt gracefully through the air—grabbing the fruit from the branch in one swift motion.
Plop!
He landed lightly on the ground and examined the fruit in his hand—a pineapple-shaped Devil Fruit covered in swirling patterns.
He placed it into the synthesis slot, and its details appeared before him.
Human-Human Fruit, Model: Homo sapiens.
"Homo sapiens form… this is exactly what I was looking for." Ze's lips curled into a smile of delight.
When Chopper, a reindeer, ate this fruit, he eventually managed to invent a frequency wave capable of disrupting Zoan transformations, allowing for localized enhancements. Incredibly powerful stuff.
That fruit had given him a huge advantage.
Otherwise, a young reindeer like Chopper could never have achieved such feats.
Ze put the fruit away carefully.
…
"Young master, that guy's really got some nerve—making us wait this long. You sure he's not just playing us?"
The towering, giant-like Pica rumbled in his gravelly voice.
"Beh-hehehehe… no one born yet would dare play the Donquixote Family for fools," Torrebol sneered, the long strand of mucus under his nose swinging as he laughed.
"He's coming."
Doflamingo's grin spread, his sharp red eyes flashing with a dangerous gleam.
Down the street, a strikingly handsome figure appeared in the distance.
"Young master, that's just a brat. I could crush him with one hand!"
Pica boomed confidently.
Doflamingo only smiled and said nothing.
Ze too spotted Doflamingo and his crew aboard their massive ship. Their gazes met.
Boom!!!
A terrifying aura erupted from Doflamingo's body—his overwhelming will flooding outward and crashing toward Ze.
"He's out… beh-hehehe…"
"Our king!"
Torrebol and Pica roared with crazed excitement, their bodies trembling under the pressure of Doflamingo's Conqueror's Haki.
The scarlet wave of dominance struck Ze head-on, halting him in his tracks.
Yet he kept smiling—completely unfazed.
Then—
Boom!!!
A surge of golden energy exploded from Ze's body, instantly shattering Doflamingo's Haki. The shockwave tore through the surrounding houses, filling the air with the cracking of splintering wood as violent wind pressure roared outward, leaving a vacuum in its wake.
