Chapter 27: The Block-Block Fruit User

"Boss Kigos, there's a ship heading our way."

On a massive sailing vessel, a towering man—two and a half meters tall, dark-skinned, clad in a black leather coat left open to reveal layers of solid muscle—grinned viciously as he looked toward the horizon.

To the left of their ship, a black speck was rapidly drawing closer.

"Well, isn't that just perfect? More cargo coming our way."

Beside him stood a man barely one and a half meters tall, short-limbed, hideously ugly, with a mop of curly red hair. He grinned wickedly, twin steel claws glinting coldly in his hands.

All around them were rough, heavily armed men holding guns—each with a face that screamed criminal.

It didn't take long for the black speck to draw near—it was a ship about twenty meters long.

"Doesn't look like an ordinary merchant vessel."

Jiang Qize narrowed his eyes as he saw the crowd on the large ship staring at him.

"Tch… two people, and they dare sail the Grand Line?" Timosen sneered, lips curling into a cruel smile, his eyes gleaming with greed.

"That one's pretty good-looking," Kigos said, licking his lips as his gaze fixed on Jiang Qize. "Should fetch a fine price."

"Keep everyone except that shorty. The warehouse's still empty anyway."

"Fine by me."

In the next instant, Kigos's lean, monkey-like figure suddenly leapt high, crossing over ten meters in a single bound, and landed on Jiang Qize's ship—

Bang!!

The deck splintered under the impact, leaving a gaping hole.

"So… you're a slave ship?" Jiang Qize asked coolly, narrowing his eyes at the wiry intruder.

He didn't strike immediately.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. You know quite a bit for a brat," Kigos sneered, his face twisting into a feral grin as veins of red crept into his eyes. His twin claws shimmered faintly with light.

"A Devil Fruit user, huh…" Jiang Qize glanced at the claws. "Then you must have a Log Pose on board, right?"

"Of course we do—but I don't have time to play with you right now!"

Kigos hated the calm, unbothered look on Jiang Qize's face. Grinding his claws together, he let out an ear-piercing screech before lunging forward at incredible speed.

But Jiang Qize was faster.

Boom!

His foot struck the steel claws like a blur, the impact echoing with a loud crack—

Yet Kigos didn't budge an inch.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk… I'm the Block-Block Fruit user! Your attacks don't work on me!"

He let out a deranged laugh and twisted his claws violently, forcing Jiang Qize back before slashing at him again, the claws cutting through the air with a sharp hiss.

A powerful gust of wind swept through.

Clang!

Sparks flew as a massive hooked claw intercepted the strike.

"Tsk, tsk, I told you—your attacks can't hurt me!" Kigos laughed triumphantly, his confidence overflowing.

Ever since gaining this power, he'd never once been injured. With his agility and speed, he'd only ever been the hunter—never the prey.

But just as he was jeering, a shadow suddenly fell from above.

A massive, iron-blue tail came crashing down on him.

"Agh—!"

Kigos's eyes went wide as his body was swatted away like a rag doll, slamming hard into the ship's railing with a deafening crack, snapping it apart.

"Pffft—" Blood gushed from his mouth as his chest caved inward.

"Im… impossible…" he gasped, eyes full of disbelief.

"The reason your so-called invulnerability works," Jiang Qize said calmly as he walked over, kicking aside the fallen claws, "is because your steel claws block the damage. If I'm not mistaken, the Block-Block Fruit only defends against attacks that hit what you've coated with Armament Haki… right?"

He crouched beside the broken man and smiled faintly as he spoke.
