Honestly, today was going really good for me. I had saved enough money to move out from living with my drunk fucking uncle of mine. I hope he rots in hell when he dies.
Anyways, I am getting off point. I was driving to meet up with a person that was selling me a small house. Now this house was really small for a house and it was in a kind of crappy neighborhood, but the total amount for the house was like $120,000, which that price is really damn good and cheap for living in Hoquiam, Washington State. Now I wasn't buying the house fully at the moment cause I don't got that amount of money on me, but I do have $60,000 which should cover like half of it, and with the mortgage payment amount that we agreed on, I would have been able to pay it off in about 2 or 3 years.
But shit did not go as planned cause I think that I died or got transported somewhere? I actually don't know because right now I am sitting on a bench in a park that I have never been in with my backpack at my feet, and it's the dead of night I think, and I really have no idea how I got here cause all I did was take a deep breath and close my eyes for less than a second to calm my nerves about getting a house, and when I opened my eyes I was sitting down on this bench.
And I have been sitting for a few minutes now cause I am still trying to process what happened.
Also I got this note in my hands that I am scared to open.
The reason.
The paper does not feel like paper somehow, like it feels heavy yet light at the same time, also it feels soft and rough at the same time too.
So I am 90% sure that whatever is written in this note has to do with why I am here, yet I am scared to read it cause I most likely will not like what I read.
But this is the only clue I got right now on what is happening, so I took two very deep breaths to calm my nerves and I opened the note and read it to myself.
"Hello there Tod, you might be wondering where you are at, do not worry about that for now because you will know once you know everything else that you need to know, so I got a couple things to tell you because this will most likely be the one and only time that you hear from me so read closely, I have given you a good amount of gifts so that you can survive and live, and you can grow stronger but you will need to work to be stronger, now I did not write down everything that I have given you on this paper cause I didn't feel like it but I given you something else so you can view all the things that I have gifted you but for you to know this is only to see what you have and nothing more so don't expect anything else from it, now how to activate it I will tell you that at the end, so one more thing, you are a ghost or better said for you is that you don't exist legally here in this world so don't get caught by any type of government cause you will be fucked and I will not help you at all, so anyways good luck to you Todd, from HM, and P.S. I dropped the note onto the floor and quickly raised my arms to cover my face.
The reason is because a screen appeared in front of me and I just stared at it for a while, not reading, just staring at it.
I slowly brought my hands down and I reluctantly read it.
And the very first thing that caught my eye was my race. It said [Yokai-Kitsune], which makes no sense cause I am human or at least I was human...
Whoever the fuck this HM thing is, it changed my race, and the mere thought of that caused my ears to flicker in frustration.
Wait, my ears just flickered.
I brought my hands to the top of my head and I touched something soft that is a part of me aka my ears, aka my new fox ears.
"What the fuck..." I whispered to myself and I kept touching my ears, and I slowly reached behind me and I grabbed something very very soft and fluffy aka my fox tail, and on the bright side I only have one so win for me, but on the bad side I think that means that I am very weak if my knowledge on Kitsune is correct.
I let go of my tail and I shoved my face into my hands and I felt my tail wrap around my waist. Looking down at it, my tail looks so damn cool.
Fuck, that is something I have never thought that I would ever say or think.
With a deep breath, I pushed on [Yokai-Kitsune] to see if I can get more information on my new race that I am.
And holy moly, there is a bunch of information.
I am kind of getting overwhelmed right now, so I decided to just skim over it all and look for the things that I get from being a kitsune.
So I have three different forms: my human form, my humanoid form, and my fox form. Now all of them are kind of self-explanatory, but my humanoid form is more like a hybrid form, like basically I look like a werewolf but a fox instead which is cool as heck. Also with a little bit of focus I can make my ears and tail disappear. Now they don't really disappear, it's like I am using illusions to make them be hidden and they kind of become ghost-like in the way that they cannot be touched and felt by anyone while I have them hidden, which makes sense in a way.
Now I have been given a good amount of physical and mental attributes. Like I am more graceful now in my movements supposedly, I now have two types of energies in my body which are mana and spiritual energy. Mana is something I don't feel like I need to explain cause everyone kind of knows what it is so I am not going to explain it, but spiritual energy is something I need to explain. So basically from what I am getting at, it is life force, so think of Ki, Chi, and other things like that. And the last thing is something called Fox-Born Instincts, which is kind of weirdly named but reading it, it's basically just improved perception, awareness and reaction speed which are way better than the average person. Also I got something called Innate Allure now. Like all it says is that my human form is naturally attractive and subtly mesmerizing, so I am just going to assume it means that I look better.
I have a racial ability called [Fox Fire], which is as it says, fire. Now it's only a little stronger than normal fire at the moment, but that does not really seem bad due to three reasons. The first one is that I should be able to freely manipulate it as I want to with ease, the second is that I can make the fire completely harmless to people, and the last thing is that it will grow stronger with the more tails that I get.
Onto magic. Like others of the race that I am now, I have affinity for Nature, Illusion and Spirit magic, and because of that anything related to those three things are more potent, effects last longer, and cost less energy to use. And also I am very nature attuned now. Like I am way more compatible with plants, animals and natural spirits, and I recover better in nature.
But the supposed downsides to that is that I feel uncomfortable in cities or far away from nature, and also I am weak to anything that is meant to hurt spirits or is related to purification, due to that I am technically a semi-spirit being in a way.
Also that anyone that is very powerful that can see through illusions will be able to see through my illusions that I got on my tails and ears, so I hope that I don't run into powerful magic users or anything along those lines.
Oh, and on the thing about my tail, the more tails that I have and get, the stronger my magic is, the bigger my energy reserves are, the stronger [Foxfire] is and I get an overall boost in strength. Now there are two main ways to get more tails. The first one is age, like the older I get, the more tails I get, and second is training and working hard enough to unlock more tails which I am most likely going to do. Now I am going to say this, the boosts that the tails give to a Kitsune is different for each one and it's more of a status thing.
I looked away from the screen in front of me cause I am still processing all of this situation that I am in right now cause like I am in a whole new world as a fucking furry now.
I closed all the information on [Yokai-Kitsune] and I tapped on [Trait], and I am assuming these are traits that this HM being has given me that don't belong to my race.
And just counting all of them and not reading the names, I have five whole traits, and reading just the names, most of them have to do with my body.
So the first one is called [Chompers], and it does exactly what it sounds like. My teeth and jaw are strong enough that I can bite into rocks with no damage to them. Also if my teeth ever break then they will regrow back but it'll be slowly.
The second one is called [Energy Heart], so I don't have a normal typical heart anymore. I now have a metaphysical one that still works as a heart. Fuck, now I don't even have normal blood anymore. My blood now is rich in mana and spiritual energy, and my blood will glow a little bit if it is out of my body. Also my energy reserves are greatly bigger than they should be. Also my natural health regeneration rate is added directly to my energy regeneration rate, meaning that the faster I regen my energies then the faster I regen my health. And a few other things is that I should have smoother control over my energies and my energy loss should be reduced a decent amount.
But there is one major downside to this from what I am reading, and it's that if I am ever in a seal or in an anti-energy zone, then I am fucked. Like I will not be able to move my body properly because my circulation of my blood will be screwed over badly.
Now the third one is called [Chaos Response], and the description to it is very weird in a way. Like it basically does not allow anyone to look into me. Like they can't look into my future, can't look into my mind and can't look into my existence, and if they try to then they will get an automatic feedback response that is chaotic. To which I guess the description makes a little sense but it doesn't explain anything else.
"I could be in Highschool DxD?" I asked myself cause like the only clue that I got is my new race form that I am now, but honestly I really hope that I am not because it's too horny for me plus I am more into chubby women or muscular women, to which DxD has neither.
I looked at my hand and I focused a little bit and a small light blue flame appeared on my palm, and with a little bit more focus my whole hand got covered with the flames.
I turned my head back to the screen as I played with the [Foxfire].
Ok, now the fourth one is actually really good. I mean like the others are good too but this is more to protect my soul and body. It is called [Constant], so basically my soul and body cannot be manipulated without my consent. Also I cannot be cloned or replicated at all, and I am immune to paradoxes.
The last one is called [Efficient Physique], and this basically just makes it where I regain my energies from eating, sleeping and breathing, which it pairs really good with [Energy Heart].
I sat up from the bench after I read the last [Trait], cause I want to get somewhere that I can sleep at. I grabbed my Backpack that was on the floor and I opened it up to see what I got in it.
And all my important things are in here. Like my laptop, my phone, my wallet to which does not have my ID in it but does have a lot of cash in it so lucky me, some snacks, my favorite water bottle is in here too, and some things that hold value to me, so I cannot lose this at all or I'll lose my mind cause I got pictures and other things that mean a lot to me. Also I'm kind of surprised that I have not had to break down yet, but I think that I have not processed everything completely yet.
I put on my backpack and I started to walk down the path hoping it leads me out of here, which I'm sure is the right way cause I can hear the cars and smell the fuel of the cars.
On that note, these stronger senses are going to take a little to get used to. Also I should hide my fox features now.
So with a deep breath and a little bit of focus, I felt a mist-like feeling cover my ears and tail then it was gone.
I looked behind to my back and I saw my tail that was transparent, but I am going to assume it's because it's my tail and I can see through my own illusions. I went to touch my tail but my hand passed through it like it was a ghost.
All things aside, this is so cool. Like I am in one of those fanfics.

"I am going to have to learn how to control my emotions somehow cause I don't want my ears and tail to give my mood away..." I muttered to myself as I rubbed my eyes then I said "Profile"
I debated whether to pick [Skill] or [Item], but I picked [Skill] cause I am pretty sure that I don't need any of the things in [Item] at the moment because I am sure they are all just weapons.
So I have a total of 10 skills. All of them except for two are self-explanatory like [Intermediate Polearm Mastery], [Novice Shooting], [Novice Ninjutsu], [Novice Blade Weapon Mastery], [Novice Blunt Weapon Mastery], [Novice Hand-to-Hand Combat], [Intermediate Fine Arts], and [Grooming].
Now all the skills that are novice, it means that I just know the very basics of those things, and now [Intermediate Polearm Mastery] this skill just means that I'm a proper polearm user. [Intermediate Fine Arts] is the same in a way but it just means that I am proficient at most fine arts and [Grooming] just means that I know how to keep myself clean and presentable, which is amazing cause I have no fucking clue how to clean this damn tail at all. I mean I do know now. Also all the fighting skills allow me to get better faster too and with enough training the name of the skill will change like from novice to intermediate, but the change in name has no effect on the skill itself.
But the last two are weird in name. So the first one is [Total Concentration Breathing], and yes it's the one from Demon Slayer. So basically I can breathe a certain way that increases the oxygen into my blood and muscles, and that makes my physique way better physically and mentally as long as I maintain it. Now it also says that with enough training I can make it into the constant version of it aka I use it all the time.
Now the last one is [Intermediate Conceptualization], and in the most very simplest way to put it, it just makes it where I can comprehend the Mystical and Esoteric. Those are the words it used in the description. So from what I am getting, this is that it allows me to understand magic better, allows me to learn faster, it allows me to identify different energies, and also it allows me to recognize flaws and inefficiencies in spells easier and faster, while also allowing me to redesign them even if it's only a very little bit.
"Eww..." I said as I covered my nose, cause it really smells bad here, the closer that I get out of here.
I just realized how much negativity there is here. Like I can physically feel all the anger, sorrow, greed. I can feel all the malice, and it's fucking disgusting. Also there is a bunch of nasty mana and spiritual energy here.
Soon enough, I finally got to the entrance to this park and I found out that this park is called Robinson Park.
"Damn..." I muttered cause this city looks really nice in the winter with the snow, but the sight does not shake off this feeling this place is giving me.
And a thing that I learned is that I am in a really modern world, and I am going to assume it's the same year as my world based on the cars that I am seeing driving around here. Hell I think this world is more advanced than mine. Like some of these phones I am seeing are a brand that I have never seen that look really good.
But anyways, I am looking for a motel right now that I can stay at until I figure out what to do in this world and figure out what world I am in.
I looked up into the air cause some kind of light symbol appeared on it.
"Just my luck..." I said to myself. I just stared at the symbol.
The Bat fucking symbol.
I am looking at the Bat symbol right now.
Well decent news is that I now know what world I am in.
Horrible news is that I am in DC, and not just DC but in fucking Gotham.
I have horrible luck.
I started to walk faster to find a motel because it is night right now plus the bat symbol is on, meaning something will most likely go down, and I want to be somewhere with a floor over my head and where I'm somewhat safe.
Who am I kidding, there is basically nowhere safe in this place.
But I should be safer not out in the open like I am now. Also I really need to check out the [Item] but I have a feeling that I don't have an inventory at all. I think it works by like when I push on the item to see its description then it might pop out in front of me.
So I am going to wait. Even if it's not that way, I am more focused on getting somewhere warm and somewhat safe cause I don't want to get caught lacking out here.
Soon enough I found a decent looking motel. I headed into it, and I went to the front desk.
At the front desk, there was a lady that looked probably in her late 40s, and she reeked of cigarettes. Her hair was brown with a lot of grey hairs in it, likely due to stress that this city gives to people.
"Good evening ma'am, can I get a room?" I asked her as I reached into my pocket and took out my wallet.
The lady looked me up and down like she was judging me, which I am sure she was and she asked me "One or two beds and for how long?" as she asked me the question, she looked at the wall behind her that held the keys to the rooms.
"Either is good for me and just for tonight"
"40 Dollars"
As I gave her the money, she said to me "Be checked out by 10:00 AM" then she gave me the key.
Once I got the key, I headed straight to my room, and the number of my room is 19.
When I entered the room, I made sure that the window was covered good then I dropped my backpack onto one of the beds and I dropped myself face first onto the other bed, and I dropped my illusions on my tail and ears.
After a few minutes, I got out of the bed and I took off my coat and I threw it onto the bed I was lying on, then I went over to the bed my backpack was on and I emptied it all out so I can check it properly cause earlier I just did a very brief check, but now I can do a proper one.
I noticed two things about my backpack itself. The first one is that there's one big symbol on it that is stitched on it that was never there which is odd, and the second thing is that each pocket is bigger on the inside. How big I got no clue, and I am happy about that cause I got a few pairs of clothes in here, everything I need for my hygiene, two more pairs of shoes, a few diaries that I have made over the years, my camera, my photo album, a few books that are important to me, my phone and laptop that I put both to charge and I learned that they are still connected to my world after a quick few searches.
I quickly put everything back into the backpack and organized it in a way that I know where each thing is at, but I left out one pair of clothing and a towel.
I want to take a shower right now but I have to check out [Item] to see what I have been given, so I will take the shower after I check all the things I got in [Item].
"Profile" after I said that I pushed on [Item] and I just read the names on the things I got before I read the descriptions on them.
I got fucking [Gae Bolg] and it's soul bonded to me.
I have [Gae Bolg].
And it's the real thing. I am reading the description right and I am not skipping anything.
So I got good and bad news. Good news is that I can at some point be able to use its Noble Phantasms but the bad news is that I will need to be as good or at the very least be half as good as Cú Chulainn to use its Noble Phantasms.
And that will take me a long time to get to that level, but lucky for me is that I am going to live for a long time due to me being a Kitsune.
I took a breath and I had to control myself because I really want to summon [Gae Bolg] and do some moves with it but I am not yet due to it being a demonic spear and this world got a shit ton of people who will hunt me down for having this weapon, and I also don't want to get a visit from any godlike beings right now.
I still can't believe that I got [Gae Bolg] out of all fate weapons, but it kind of makes sense this weapon because I am a huge polearm person.
I forced myself to think away from [Gae Bolg] and to keep going over the [Item].
The next thing is called [Archangel], and when I opened the description to it, a gun fell onto my bed.
"Is this from Cyberpunk...?" I asked myself as I picked up the gun, and this thing is kind of heavy for a gun this size, and I'm sure this is from Cyberpunk 2077 cause this looks like a reskinned design of that common hand gun.
I looked at the description and I said "Oh shit, this is Kerry's iron, no wonder it looked so similar"
Kerry was carrying some serious heat on him. Like this is meant for some crazy rounds. Like they are made to shatter chrome easily, it goes through concrete. Then this thing also has a system that is meant to reduce the recoil to where it's just like the recoil of a standard service revolver. It's a double-action, and the frame to this thing is insane.
And there are two other things to it, that I am sure that this HM being added to it. Like it will fix itself if something happens to it, when it's not in use, and the second thing is that it gives me 36 rounds meant for this gun a day and the rounds appear into the gun once all the bullets in the cartridges are fired.
I aimed the gun at the wall with my finger off the trigger like a responsible gun owner.
This feels so good in my hand. The grip is basically built for my palm, lining the shot feels good too and it's easy to aim.
I am going to have to buy a holster, maybe an underarm holster, or I can just keep it in my waistband.
But for now, I just put it under my backpack for now cause I am putting that under my pillow tonight in case someone tries to break into my room.
I turned back to the screen, pushed onto [Playful Cloud], and yes it's the one from JJK.
"Huh, I did not know that..." I said as I both read the description and I held [Playful Cloud].
So basically the strength of [Playful Cloud] fully depends on the user's physical strength. Heck it even amplifies the user's strength with its cursed energy, meaning that basically if someone like Batman gets their hands on this thing, they will be beating people's asses.
But that will not happen, cause I will not allow it at all.
Anyways, I put [Playful Cloud] inside of my backpack, in a spot where I can easily reach into my backpack and take it out if I need to.
Also lucky for me is that [Playful Cloud] is a blunt weapon so I can use it even if it's only very basic attacks, thanks to [Novice Blunt Weapon Mastery].
I now got three more items to check out.
I pushed on [Your Backpack], to which as the name says, it's my backpack, the same one in the room with me.
So basically after reading the whole description, my backpack is basically an inventory that is soul bonded with me. The amount of things that can be inside of it is directly linked to how much weight that I can carry on my person just add my base strength. My backpack is now extremely durable and if it is somehow damaged then it will fix itself quickly. Only I can access my backpack and those that I allow to. And finally is that I can summon my backpack to me if I lose it but I can't make it disappear and send it to a pocket dimension.
I focused on summoning my backpack to my hand, and it appeared into my hand like I wanted it to. Also it made no sound at all, and now that I realize it my backpack is light. Like it feels like it was only 1 pound.
I threw my backpack into the air away from me then I resummoned it to my hand again.
"Heh...heh-heh" I giggled to myself as I put my backpack on the bed.
I turned to the screen again and I pushed on the next item.
It was [Split Soul Katana], another weapon from JJK, and now that I am reading the description to the weapon, I see why it is a crazy strong weapon.
[Split Soul Katana] is an insane weapon due to the fact it ignores all physical toughness and attacks the soul directly. Now how and where it hits the soul depends on the user and to bring out the full power of the weapon, the user has to be able to see and understand the soul.
Now at the moment I can't see the soul but I will be able to see souls soon enough due to me being a Yokai aka a semi-spirit being and all.
I shoved [Split Soul Katana] into my backpack, right next to [Playful Cloud] so I can have easy access to it too.
I let out a deep breath cause I got one more item left, then I can head to the shower and go to sleep cause I am so mentally exhausted right now.
Guess I am going to be an Ice user Kitsune now, cause the last item is [Grimoire of the Cryomancer]. Don't get me wrong I am happy that I got magic but giving a kitsune like me some ice magic feels a little bit racist if you ask me.
But that is beside the point really. I am happy that I got magic now.
Anyways, so basically the Grimoire holds a very wide amount of ice and cold types of spells, and there are different kinds of spells in here like wordless spells, hand movement spells, spells that only need a few words to cast, spells that need full sentence long chants to cast, and more kinds.
Also the Grimoire does not match its look in terms of pages, due to it having way more pages that are not visible in the book.
And another cool thing about this is that it senses or better said it reads my intentions on what kind of spell that I want then it opens to the page of the spell.
I held the Grimoire and I thought of a spell, and the Grimoire flipped open and the pages started turning fast.
Then it stopped at a page titled [Ice Claws], the exact type of spell I wanted.
And boy, was it full of information about the spell. How it works, how to do it, how to do it in different ways, and the effects of it.
Now you might be thinking, why [Ice Claws]?
Well I am a Kitsune now so I'll most likely mostly use ice spells that are themed with me being a Kitsune for the hell of it cause no one is going to stop me at all.
I want to try to do the spell but I am a little bit worried about some risks like ice damage, might mess up the spell and that could cause ice to shatter all over the place. Well that's what I assume will happen because that is what it says in the Grimoire at least.
So I decided to leave testing for tomorrow and shoved the Grimoire into my backpack, in a different pocket from everything else so that I can know where it's at easily and grab it.
"Finally..." I said as I grabbed my clothes, my body products and my gun then I headed to the bathroom to take a shower.
Upon entering the bathroom, I put my clothes on the bathroom counter and I got naked slowly.
"Damn" I said as I looked in the mirror naked.
My body is now slightly more lean to which I guess kind of makes sense cause Kitsune are kind of built for agility and dexterity.
Then my canines, both top and bottom, are sharp like a fox now, and it's kind of noticeable. Also my jaw can open wide like a fox too.
Now onto my tail and ears. First my fox ears, they are so adorable. The outer fur of my ears is a deep charcoal-like black that blends into my hair really nice. The inner fur of my ear is a warm gold color, and the tips of my ears are a faint reddish-brown color. Then onto my one tail, my tail fur is fluffy and thick. The base of it is the same charcoal black as the fur for my ears, and it fades into a dark auburn color, and then at the tip it's a muted golden-bronze I think.
I think I might be a Red Fox. Like the dead giveaway is the red color I got on my fur, but I will only really know if I turn into my fox form.
But I will turn into my fox form once I'm done taking a shower.
So I turned on the water in the shower as I started to brush my tail fur out because thanks to [Grooming], I can maintain my new body parts with no problem at all.
I finally stepped into the shower and I started to clean myself good.
Turns out there are a lot of things that I have been doing wrong or missing doing that involve cleaning myself.
After like 15 minutes later, I turned off the shower and I shook like a dog to take off most of the water on me.
Then I stepped out of the shower, and boy do I feel amazing right now. I think that's the best shower that I have ever taken but it was a little bit annoying to clean my tail, and it will be more annoying the more tails that I will get in the future.
But I am pretty sure that when I have my ears and tail in the hidden mode then they don't get wet so that is a plus for me if it's true.
Anyways I put on my underwear and pants cause I am going to sleep in my clothes that I am going to wear tomorrow.
After I got those pieces on, I headed out of the bathroom, and I turned the TV to the local news to see what is happening while I dried my tail off good.
On the screen there is some dude talking about the weather that is possibly going to happen in the next week.
The dude then paused as he was given a piece of paper then he said "Looks like we are cutting the weather report tonight due to the fact that I just got news that the Joker is causing trouble in Gotham Train Station, so best to assume that the Train Station will be down for the next few days"
Well that does not affect me at all cause I doubt that I can get onto the trains without that card thing plus this is Gotham so there is no way I am getting on any trains here at all.
After I finished drying my tail, I turned off the TV and I decided not to try my fox form tonight cause I am tired mentally, and I am pretty sure that this HM being did something to me so I don't have a mental breakdown.
I turned off the lights in the room and I laid down on the bed and I felt my tail wrap around my leg as I drifted to sleep.

Onto some information about this Fanfic, the MC is going to be taking odd jobs of all kinds, like ranging from doing some house chores for someone to taking down a criminal organizing, yet he is only taking jobs that align with his morals and have a good pay so he will not be doing random hits jobs for people unless they deserve it.
Also if this is not going to be a edge and dark story at all, so he will not just be killing people left and right, hell he is going to be rarely killing people like that.
And another thing, the MC might have a harem in the future but it will be a proper harem that have women, men, and other things, but this is a very big might for a harem because it is suppose to focus on the dumb shit that he will get into and getting paid to do.
