Chapter 50 - The Call That Brought the Night Visitors

After dinner, Su Yu returned to the breeding house, planning to wash up and call it a day. Just as he was about to relax, several unfamiliar Psychic waves suddenly swept in from a distance—clear, powerful, and unmistakably deliberate. His expression tightened at once. Without hesitation, Su Yu turned and hurried toward the backyard, his instincts already on high alert.

What he saw there made him pause. Standing quietly among the trees were a Flash Gardevoir and a Gallade, accompanied by two Kirlia and a Ralts. At the same time, Chen Xier's Ralts had also appeared, floating nervously near them. For a brief moment, Su Yu couldn't help but feel stunned. A full Gardevoir family… in his backyard? Why would they come here? And a Shiny Gardevoir, no less?

The Flash Gardevoir noticed Su Yu immediately and took a guarded stance, while Gallade subtly raised his arm, ready to strike if needed. Su Yu raised an eyebrow. Had they come here looking for trouble? Before the situation could escalate, Chen Xier's Ralts floated forward anxiously, waving its little arms as it hurriedly explained.

Brother, sister—don't hurt Su Yu!He didn't abduct me!

Su Yu instantly understood. So that was it—they thought he had taken Ralts by force. Realizing this, he relaxed slightly and released his Psychic gently, projecting calm rather than pressure as he spoke.

"Hello. Are you Ralts' family?"

The moment his Psychic spread out, the younger Pokémon instinctively stepped back. Even Gardevoir and Gallade's expressions grew serious. This wasn't the Psychic of an ordinary human. It was deep, stable, and frighteningly strong. For an instant, both Pokémon questioned whether the being in front of them was truly human at all.

Ralts continued explaining, growing more animated by the second—until it finally revealed its true intention.

I want my brothers and sisters to become Su Yu's Pokémon! That way, we can stay together forever!

The backyard fell into a strange silence. Su Yu froze, genuinely stunned. So this little one had summoned her entire family… to recommend him as their Trainer?

Ralts went on to explain eagerly. Her brothers and sisters had been wandering for a long time, rescuing abandoned Ralts and Kirlia along the way. They knew humans were necessary for a stable life, but there were very few Trainers they trusted. Su Yu was different. He was kind, strong, and had already said he wanted to raise Ralts. If everyone followed him, they'd never have to be separated again.

Gardevoir and Gallade stared down at her in disbelief.

Are you serious? You're choosing a Trainer for us?

Their expressions were complicated. At first, they wondered if Su Yu had somehow influenced her, but the emotions they felt from Ralts were pure—hopeful, earnest, and filled with trust. Su Yu, on the other hand, could only rub his forehead helplessly.

"You little one… what are you even thinking?" he muttered. "How could your brother and sister possibly agree to something like that?"

As much as the idea excited him—because it really did—Su Yu was realistic. These weren't ordinary Pokémon. The Flash Gardevoir had reached the peak of Elite level, only a step away from Champion, and Gallade was just as strong, if not stronger. Super-type Pokémon of this caliber couldn't be captured unless they wanted to be. If they chose to leave, no one below Champion level could stop them.

Yet, as Su Yu was still processing everything, Gardevoir and Gallade exchanged a look. They had already been observing quietly. This place… the orchard, the breeding house, the carefully managed environment—it all spoke of stability. Following Su Yu wouldn't mean hunger or danger, and the younger ones would be safe. Slowly, the idea stopped sounding so unreasonable.

The younger Ralts and Kirlia peeked at Su Yu shyly from behind each other. His Psychic felt overwhelming to them, almost awe-inspiring, and instinctively they felt respect—even admiration—but they were too timid to speak.

At last, the Flash Gardevoir reached a decision and spoke directly into Su Yu's mind.

Hello.

Su Yu's eyes lit up instantly as he looked at her. A Shiny Gardevoir—elegant, powerful, and rare beyond measure. For a split second, a ridiculous thought flashed through his mind, and the very next moment, he felt her emotions shift.

The Flash Gardevoir blushed.

So bold… thinking such things the moment we meet.

Su Yu nearly choked on his own thoughts and hurriedly calmed himself, mortified. Gallade, watching from the side, rolled his eyes—but couldn't hide the faint sense of relief he felt. His sister had always been distant, even cold, ever since she was ostracized for being different. Seeing her react so naturally, so alive, was something he hadn't seen in a very long time.

For the first time that night, the tension eased.

And Su Yu had a strong feeling—this unexpected visit might change far more than just his plans for tomorrow.
