After checking everything, Mavi logged into his VGuest account. Since all his previously recorded videos had already been uploaded, his channel had gone without an update for three to four weeks.
Many loyal fans frequently left comments on his homepage, asking when he would upload a new video and whether he had stopped updating altogether.
His prolonged silence even led some haters to spread rumors that he had been killed by an explosion while filming. It was true—fame often came with its share of trouble.
Mavi glanced at his follower count—it had surpassed 260,000. He had even gained a fan club named the "Ma V Fan Club," apparently led by a blonde beauty who was obsessed with his explosive art.
Regardless of whether they were fans or haters, Mavi didn't dwell on them too much. He directly uploaded the Avengers trailer and included a link to Marvel Studios' website in the description. His goal was to use VGuest's traffic to generate some additional buzz.
The moment the three-minute video finished uploading, it immediately appeared on VGuest's homepage. At the same time, all 260,000 of his followers received a system notification:
"Your subscribed creator, Ma V, has uploaded a new video. Click to watch now!"
In less than two minutes, Mavi's new video had already surpassed 9,000 views! His online influence was undeniable—others might struggle for a full day to achieve what he had in just two minutes.
"Aha! Look what I found! The creator actually uploaded a new video?! I'm the first to comment!"
"Oh my god, I've been waiting forever for a new video! Leaving a comment to show my support!"
…
As the view count skyrocketed, an avalanche of comments quickly flooded the message board. Many commenters hadn't even watched the video yet but were already hyped. One could only imagine how they would react after actually watching it.
Three minutes later, the first wave of viewers sat stunned in front of their screens. The second wave, on the verge of their own shock, was just about five seconds away from reaching peak excitement…
Mavi casually refreshed the comment section and instantly saw dozens of messages filled with exclamation marks.
"Oh my god!!! Is this really a movie trailer?! What the hell happened in that final scene? CGI? Special effects? But it looks way too real!"
"Ma V! Your new video is actually about Marvel! Iron Man looks so cool! Black Widow is gorgeous! The adaptation is amazing! When does the movie come out? I'm definitely buying a ticket!"
"This trailer is insane! Hands down the best one I've ever seen! No competition! Same question—when is the movie releasing? I can't wait!"
In just five minutes, the Avengers trailer had already surpassed 30,000 views. Many who had watched the epic footage were beyond excited for the movie. Countless viewers shared the video with their friends, eager to pull them into the hype as well. After all, they had never seen a sci-fi film that looked this breathtakingly realistic.
…
Unlike traditional advertising on TV and newspapers—both of which required hefty fees—online promotion was free and incredibly effective. Besides VGuest, Google's search engine also helped drive significant traffic to the trailer. This successfully pulled dedicated Marvel fans into the frenzy, leaving them completely hooked.
Some fans watched the three-minute trailer more than ten times. They spread the word like wildfire, telling their friends, who in turn told their own circles. Even though internet access wasn't yet widespread at the time, this level of hype made one thing certain—when the movie finally hit theaters, its box office performance would be nothing short of spectacular.
A week and a half later, the Avengers trailer, funded and produced by Mavi, had spread across the entire American internet. It had even reached distant countries like the United Kingdom, France, and Italy, generating an overwhelming response.
After all, in the year 2000, entertainment options were relatively limited. When something truly eye-catching appeared, combined with strategic promotion, it could easily ignite an explosive reaction.
By now, Mavi had already received several partnership offers from production companies, but he had yet to give any definite response. At the moment, he was on his way to Marvel's headquarters for a board meeting.
Over the past month, Marvel Comics had faced numerous hardships. There had been major personnel changes, with many high-level executives resigning. Widespread pessimism about the company's future had left employees anxious, fearing that Marvel could collapse overnight.
But in the end, Mavi dispelled all the doubts, rumors, and uncertainties.
Now, Marvel employees viewed their new chairman, Mavi, as the company's savior. The entire staff had gathered outside the headquarters, eagerly awaiting his arrival.
Fifteen minutes later, two armored, dark gold SUVs roared to a stop in front of the building. The car doors opened, and a young white man in an Italian suit stepped out, escorted by a team of bodyguards.
This was the first time Marvel employees had seen their new chairman in person. Many were shocked by Mavi's youth and striking appearance.
"Our chairman is this young? And he's so handsome too! Plus, he's incredibly capable… I'd love to marry a man like him." A female employee whispered excitedly to her colleague.
At that moment, Marvel's Chief Operating Officer, Jack, dressed in a black suit, approached Mavi nervously.
"Chairman Mavi! I'm Jack, the COO of the company. The conference room has been prepared for the meeting."
With many top executives having resigned, Jack was now the second-in-command at Marvel, right behind Mavi.
Mavi nodded and patted Jack on the shoulder.
"Good job."
Receiving praise from the chairman made Jack's nerves instantly relax. He beamed and quickly responded,
"No, no! It's all thanks to you, Chairman! You turned everything around!"
"Let's head up first." Mavi blinked, unwilling to take all the credit. He had simply capitalized on his rebirth and the opportunities that came with it.
"Understood, Chairman!" Jack replied, leading Mavi to the conference room. Accompanying them were the remaining department heads and senior advisors who had chosen to stay.
Though their numbers had been cut in half compared to when Mavi first arrived at Marvel, those who remained were loyal and steadfast—worthy of long-term investment.
Once they were seated, Jack immediately presented a report.
"Chairman Mavi, this is a stock price trend chart for Marvel over the past week. In just seven days, our stock has risen from $5.23 to $6.43—a 23% increase!"
Seated in the chairman's seat, Mavi leaned back against the luxurious leather chair. Unlike the Chinese stock market, the U.S. stock market had no limits on daily price fluctuations. A 23% surge meant that, as the owner of 75.8% of Marvel's shares, Mavi had just earned a staggering $10.58 million in profit!
