Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

[The following morning; off the shore of the Southern Water Tribe] Unalaq: *watching as his army arrives on the shore* I'm grateful to you two. You have made it possible for us to open the portal. And so with this, I can confirm that you two will be able to open up its Northern counterpart. Korra: But how are we gonna do that? The solstice is over. Alee: Yeah, it is, but the spiritual energy in the North is vastly greater than the one here. Unalaq: Both of you will ensure that we can make a better world. Alee and Korra: *smile at one another* [A few days later, Southern Air Nomad Temples] Bing: *sends a huge gust of wind towards Tenzin* Tenzin: *redirects it back towards Bing* Karu: *watching the two as he drinks his tea* Bing your form is sloppy! Bing: Huh? *he gets knocked down* Karu: *shakes his head* You have stuff you need to learn. *he looks around* Tenzin, where is your second born? Tenzin: *looks Jinora and Meelo but can't find Ikki anywhere* Where is your sister? Meelo: We may have, kind of, sort of, pranked her… Tenzin: *looks at them with an irritated face* You what?! Jinora: We're so sorry. Tenzin: *facepalms as he stands up goes to looks for her* Bing: *gets back onto his feet* Karu: *drops Bing with a gust of wind* Back to training! [Meanwhile; Southern Water Tribe; Tonraq and Senna's home where a meeting is being held] Tonraq: Thank you for coming, everyone. I know our past few days have been troubling. Varrick: *eating kale cookies* Troubling?! What's troubling is when I get a foot rash and Zhu Li isn't there to scratch it! But these cookies are amazing. Zhu Li, remind me to get the recipe later. Zhu Li: *nods* Tonraq: What's your point, Varrick? Varrick: My point is that I have multiple ships gull of cargo, and due to this shipment lock down, I can't sell my stock, meaning I have rotten fish and no one wants rotten fish! Alee: *sitting by the wall whilst he eats the kale cookies* Varrick: We should start fighting back! Tonraq: You're right. Maybe it is about time we stood up. Korra: *gets on her feet* Wait, we don't have to sort this out with fighting. Tonraq: *nods* You're right. Maybe you should speak with your uncle. Korra: I will. Alee, let's go. *she walks out of the hut* Alee: *follows her* [Meanwhile, Southern Water Tribe, City] Bolin: *pulling a carriage that's has both Eska and Desna sitting in it* Eska: *talks jn a low montone with a solemn face* I will miss this disappointing place once we leave. Desna: *asnwers in the same tone* Is that true? Eska: Of course not. *she laughs in an oddway* Desna: *laughs at her joke* Eska: Boyfriend, laugh at my humour quip! Bolin: *laughs nervously* [Later that day; Southern Water Tribe; Chief Hall] Korra: *enters the room* Uncle. The people of the South aren't being treated well due to the changes being made. Unalaq: *sitting on the Chief chair* I understand, but we have to have sacrifices at some point in life. Alee: *looks at him* You have several citizens being treated badly just for the sake of what? Unalaq: How dare you talk to me that way, Firebender. You should leave this conversation between Water Nation folk. Alee: *outs his hands in his pockets as he exits the room* Korra: Was that necessary? Unalaq: *nods* You're the Avatar. You don't need a moral compass. You've outgrown him. [Meanwhile; Southern Air Nomad Temples] Tenzin: *holding a lamp* Ikki! Where are you, Ikki? Karu: *lands next to Tenzin with his arms behind his back* You hold so much stress. Nothing like your father. Tenzin: It's just that I have a huge responsibility. Karu: As if I didn't have the exact same problems in my youth. Do you know why I moved back to the Air temples. It was not to get back to my roots. I enjoyed life in Republic City, but it was never the same after a while. Tenzin: I've heard stories about your adulthood, sir. Karu: Toph had cheated on me twice before she had bared me a child. Unfortunately, I took her root and cheated on her. And yet, I raised all 5 of those children. 2 were not my own, and yet they felt as if they were. Tenzin: What does this have to do with Ikki, sir? Karu: Some children don't feel they are treated the same. Like how you were treated highly by your father due to your status of being an air bender. I never treated any of the kids differently. They bend Earth, Air, and nothing. *he smiles at Tenzin* Don't make mistakes. *he jumps away* Tenzin: *sits down as he ponders his thoughts* Bolin and Kya: *walk up to him both with smiles on their faces* Tenzin: *looks at them as he smiles* [Later, Southern Water Tribe, Chief Hall] Suru: *walking along side Alee* You know very well you didn't have to join me here. Alee: *smiling* I had to. I had to show you how tough I am. Suru: *she rolls her eyes* Alright, tough guy. So, have you and the Avatar become good friends again? Alee: *nods his head* I feel like we both got closure. Suru: *kisses his cheek* Good, now we can move forward… *she hears several footsteps going towards the room of Unalaq* They wouldn't… [She spots several masked men trying to assassinate Unalaq] Masked man¹: *holding a dagger* Suru: *she runs up to him and kicks the dagger out of his hand* Alee: *blasts him with lightning, sending him outside* Korra: *outside as she sees the man fall out of the hall* Don't tell me… Dad… *she runs into the hall and waterbends a large amount of the masked men to the floor and freezes their lower bodies* Suru: Korra! Get that man* Muscular Masked man: *carrying a tied up Unalaq out of the building* Korra: Dad, wait! *she runs towards the man* Alee: *runs besides Korra* Korra and Alee: *both of them simultaneously blast their lightning and fire towards the man and drop him to the floor* Unalaq: *unties himself* Thank you both. *he gets back onto his feet* Korra: *Unmasks the man and sees it isn't her father* Wait… huh. [The masked men all get arrested by the order of Unalaq] Unalaq: I hope they all enjoy the jails which they're going to rot in. Varrick is the main suspect. Alee: They can't go straight to jail. Unalaq: You want them to go free? Korra: No. I mean, give them a fair trial. Unalaq: So be it.
