The movements of that ferocious and hideous giant beast froze in place.
A few seconds later, a thin red line appeared between its brows.
The red line rapidly spread downwards.
Rumble—!
The two halves of its body collapsed heavily to either side, with internal organs and blood cascading like a waterfall, staining this wasteland red.
And that terrifying sword energy, its momentum undiminished, pierced directly through the giant beast, carving a sword ravine several kilometers long behind it.
Eros, who was right at the edge of the attack range, tried his best to dodge, but was still clipped by the overwhelming aftershock of the sword energy.
Even with the formidable physique of the Titan race, he still could not withstand the divine power displayed by this super giant.
In the ruins, Eros struggled to push away the stone slab pressing down on him.
His magnificent interstellar formal wear had long since turned into a pile of tattered rags, his body covered in wounds of varying depths, and blood trickled down his forehead, obscuring his vision.
The elegant posture he had tried so hard to maintain was now completely gone.
Now, he found it difficult even to stand; clearly, he had completely lost the ability to continue fighting.
Thump... Thump... Thump...
Heavy footsteps approached, and the Earth trembled in its wake.
Eros looked up.
The massive body of the spider-king kong had slowly walked up in front of him.
The clouds were sliced open by the sword energy, and sunlight pierced through the haze, shining on the cold, beautiful armor of the mech, making it look like an invincible demon god.
The mech slowly raised its right arm.
The Spider-King Divine Sword traced an arc of cold light in mid-air.
Then, the incredibly sharp, massive sword tip stopped steadily less than a meter from Eros's chest.
The aura of death radiating from the sword made Eros shiver uncontrollably.
Peter's clear and powerful voice came from the mech's loudspeaker.
"You lost, Mr. Fox."
There was a moment of silence.
Eros seemed to resign himself to his fate; he gave up resisting, letting his hands hang weakly at his sides.
"I... lost."
He murmured these words, a flash of unwillingness in his eyes, but it was mostly relief.
As Eros's voice fell, the holographic scoreboard above the arena flickered.
Earth vs. Black Order, two to two.
"Clang—clang—clang—clang—!"
Grandmaster's piercing voice instantly drowned out the noise of the entire arena.
"Unbelievable! Ladies and gentlemen! A comeback for the history books! Earth's Little Spider not only defeated the prodigal son of Titan, but also smashed a cosmic giant beast!"
"Fourth match! Earth, Spider-Man wins!"
"The current score is—two to two, a tie!"
Following Grandmaster's announcement, the arena erupted into Earth-shattering screams and cheers.
The emotions of the audience were like a rollercoaster during this Earth-shattering reversal; some were overjoyed, while others looked ashen.
"Damn it! My money! Thanos's brother is a complete and utter loser!" A four-eyed alien angrily tore his betting ticket into pieces, furious.
"Earthlings are cheating! Who brings a robot to a gladiator match?! This isn't fair!" An interstellar gambler, red-eyed from losing, glared resentfully at the spider-king kong on the field.
"Cut the crap! Is your brain filled with water? Which line in the gladiator rules says you can't bring a mech into the arena?"
A nearby Raider shoved the complaining gambler aside and sneered.
"Hahaha! I told you betting on Earthlings was a good idea! One to fifty odds! I'm rich! I'm going to go buy an asteroid of my own!" An alien who had won money danced with excitement.
"Damn it! I'm betting on Earth to win the next match too! I'm going to bet everything I have!!"
Meanwhile, on distant Earth.
Billions of humans watching the live stream, upon hearing those words "I lost," felt as if it were New Year's; every household was jubilant.
"Oh, holy shit! Shit, shit, shit! We won! Peter won! I knew this kid could do it!"
"Oh my god, when that mech appeared, I had goosebumps all over! So lit!"
"This is the gold standard of Vought Academy! Creating miracles in desperate situations, I'm fired up watching this!"
"I only care about when the figure of that mech is coming out! Vought merchandise store, get it listed ASAP; no matter how expensive it is, I'm buying it!"
Comments on the internet refreshed like a waterfall, and this frenzied emotion eventually converted into tangible popularity value, converging onto that handsome blonde man.
Earth's Superheroes were also unable to hide their excitement.
Peter disengaged the mech armor and returned to the preparation platform.
As soon as he landed, he took off his mask, revealing a face covered in sweat but exceptionally excited.
"I did it! Principal Homelander! Mr. Stark! I beat him!"
Tony Stark stepped forward and gave Peter a big hug without hesitation.
"Well done, Peter. You didn't let me down. Remember to write me a 20,000-word usage experience report later." Tony said with a raised eyebrow and a smile.
"20,000 words?!" Peter widened his eyes, then made a bitter face, "Oh, come on, Mr. Stark, I have an algebra exam next week..."
At this moment, a large hand slapped heavily onto Peter's shoulder, almost making him stumble.
"Hahahaha! Well done, young warrior!"
Thor walked over, laughing, his face full of admiration.
"That sword strike of yours just now had quite the flair of when I used to slay Fire Giants in Muspelheim! Although your strength is not as great as mine, your courage deserves the strongest Asgardian mead! When we get back, I'll toast you myself!"
"Uh, thank you, Mr. Thor. But I'm still a minor, maybe we could have some orange juice?" Peter scratched his head and replied somewhat embarrassedly.
Peter then turned his gaze toward Homelander, his eyes full of anticipation for his mentor's evaluation.
Homelander looked at the travel-worn teenager in front of him and reached out, gently pressing his hand on Peter's shoulder.
"You didn't let me down, Peter." He looked into Peter's eyes earnestly and said.
"Faced with temptation, you did not waver; faced with a strong enemy, you did not retreat. Today, you not only proved that you are Vought Academy's most outstanding student..."
"...you have further proven to the entire Universe that the will of Earthlings is invincible."
"You are a true hero! I am proud of you."
Peter's eyes turned red with excitement; his idol's affirmation was more important to him than any reward.
Notification! Gained special popularity value +10000! (From Peter Parker)
"Thank you! Principal! I will continue to work hard!" Peter answered loudly.
Homelander nodded with a smile, secretly pleased inside.
This kid's loyalty level has completely solidified.
Just as the heroes were celebrating with each other, Grandmaster's voice sounded once again above the arena.
