Chapter 2 - Talk between the demons

Being assaulted by a voice that threaten to break its mind, while on the ground with the dead remains of some disgusting creature. On top of that, the threat of some other crazy horror abomination that might get attracted to the dead remain of these creatures.

So all in all, It would be fair to say that it wasn't having a great time.

'this couldn't get any worse…'

It probably will go worse as it always does. it already had to travel through a flesh storm that extended over a radius of few kilometers. And the threatening storm is just the cherry on top of this morbid cake that is made out of the countless bodies.

The only reason it managed to reach the girl is because of its elusive nature. A nature that doesn't make it completely invisible but hard for the world to remember its existence or keep it in sight.

Even the laws that govern the world seem to forget about this creature. Such a strange existence it lives.

However, this strange elusive ability isn't completely in its control. So depending on it is just a gamble. Atleast this oddity of it somewhat helped it reach the core of the storm. Not unschated but also not quite dead like the others.

Traversing back towards to way it came from would be a painful journey. Not to mentain the new passanger that is being carried on the back. She's light like a feather or light like an empty husk of a body so it wouldn't be too hard.

But it would be better if her mind attack would halt for one second. It almost feels like dying is better than being tortured like this. Almost.

So it said to her. Or shouted in the mind?

[would you mind not breaking my brain as you try to speak…?]

The voice stops and the pain does too.

Her breaching someone else's mind without other person's consent could've been the cause of this mental pain. If it were to describe the pain in word then it would be like being stabbed by thousand needles in the brain.

In any case, after few seconds of silence while it is getting up from ground. The voice speaks again. This time without the added pain.

[were you sent by Mother…?]

Her question just bring a frown on its face. If anyone would hear it they would know who she's talking about. The Mother of all demons.

A dead Mother now though.

[No]

She goes silent again. This time for more than ten minutes. After that she speak with a little bit of annoyance.

[are you lying?]

It answers with a hint of spite.

[yeah? So what? She's dead either way.]

It doesn't real care about being rude to the demon. Even if she's capable of ending lives of hundreds without moving a finger. There are five limitations that she cannot break.

Accounding to the elusive creature.

Are they placed by the Mother? It isn't really sure. But it is probably Mother's fault. She's responsible for endless pain, not only for demons, but also for the entire world.

First of these limitation is that she can't use any of her senses. Speech, hearing, sight, taste, touch, smell. All are blocked off cause of that strange fleshy thread. Why? That is unclear.

Her lips are stitched together like her eyelids as well. Other fleshy threads are deep inside of her body. Like in his ears and nostrils, they somehow removes the functions of these parts.

Touch is somewhat avalible to her. She can feel heat and cold. That's all.

Second is that, she can't stop her influence when she starts. So if she releases her fleshy storm, she can't stop it for an year or so. Cause she won't have enough consciousness. She would just be a slaughter machine.

Third is simple, she would only comeback to a proper conscious mind after the touch of a different demon. In this cause, touch of the one who carries her.

Fourth is that, she shouldn't be destroyed. It is more like a warming. So is in everyone's best interests that she isn't destoryed. It really doesn't wanna know what would be released into the world if that shell of hers gets destroyed.

Fifth is probably to do with her bad memory. It isn't really sure of the last one at all. It could be entirely different. Who knows.

These are just guesses of the elusive creature. It isn't the first time it is caring her.

While walking through the area of the storm. She speaks in its mind with curiosity.

[what are you?]

It answers while keeping an eye at the world. An hour has passed and those scavengers would be crawling towards the smell of flesh, any time now.

[a demon. What else would I be?]

She replies.

[I can't understand your shape, gender, strength or anything else.]

it answers back to her with a bit of humor.

[ofcouse, you can't. you literally can't see or hear. How would you know? Did you forget that too?]

She speaks. Not understanding the joke.

[I remember that. What I mean to say that your existence is…weird]

It answers and rolls its eyes.

[well, let's see. I'm definitely taller than you. And you can say that I'm a man of age seventeen. So determine my strenght with that. Also my name is Steel]

She ponders and repeats his name.

[Steal…? Hmm…Steel?]

It has been alone for an mouth none so talking is sorta amusing. But is she confused about his name?

[It is Steel. I named myself that cause I have a Will of steel. And by the way, your name is River…]

She contemplates for few dozen minutes about him. It is really odd to imagine his existence as of now than before. It is as if he is a man just cause he said so and before he was nothing or just an object.

Even the name that he is given to her is hard to roll of the tongue or in her mind. She can't really uses her tongue, you know.

Before talking to him, she wasn't even sure if she was being carried by a living thing. That was the reason she released so much of her mental attack. Who could've known that it would make him fall.

And also her name, River. She really doesn't know her name either. How odd. Was she suppose to have a name that is other than Demon of Cataclysm?

While she contemplates, his worries comes true. The scavengers are here to feast on the flesh.
