Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Reaping What She Sowed

After the Megalo ice sculpture shattered completely into icy dust, Raize paused as he was about to head home, turning his head with a speechless expression toward the silver-haired girl appearing not far away.

Even in the darkness of night, her beautiful, delicate appearance seemed to glow faintly, her powerful presence impossible for Raize to ignore.

"You're not going to tell me you sensed the disturbance and came over again, are you?"

Raize's exasperated words made Eu pause her writing. She flipped to a new page and wrote again.

(I sensed Megalo's aura and came to take a look. Thanks for the cooking earlier. I'm returning the bento box.)

The neat handwriting filled the notebook. Eu took out the bento box Raize had given her earlier and stepped forward, extending it to him.

Raize looked down at the petite silver-haired girl offering the box and silently accepted it.

Looking at the doll-like girl before him, her crystal-clear silver hair shining even in the night, Raize took out his wallet and handed her a bank card.

"The password is *********. Use it to find somewhere to stay temporarily. Don't keep sitting around like a stray kitten all the time."

Raize didn't want to see this kind-hearted girl sitting alone on the streets every day. Even if it didn't bother Eu, he was certain she didn't like that feeling.

Eu glanced at the bank card but didn't reach out to take it. Still, she felt warm inside from his kindness. She shook her head and quickly wrote in her notebook.

(Thank you for your kindness, but I'm hungry.)

Compared to money, Eu wanted to taste his cooking more. The bank card wasn't very useful to her—she never stayed in one place for long.

Her main reason for coming to the human world was curiosity about a being with an enormous causality thread, wanting to see them in person.

But after that subtle fluctuation some time ago, she could no longer sense it. That being's casuality level was even higher than hers. Unless another fluctuation occurred, she had no way to find them.

As for using spirit words, she didn't want to anymore. She was certain her words and magic could not interfere with that being's destiny.

Seeing the girl's hint for food, Raize looked her over and said, "Isn't the money I gave you enough to fill your stomach?"

Eu pursed her lips and continued writing.

(Store-bought food tastes average. I can't really eat it.)

So she had a foodie setting too. Eu especially liked peeled oranges and sweet pudding.

It seemed his previous lavish cooking had spoiled her palate. Raize thought so inwardly.

"…Here. Go find somewhere without people to enjoy it. If you open it here, the aroma will travel far."

Seeing the faint expectation in the girl's beautiful eyes, Raize took out a large jar of food from his storage space, still kept at optimal temperature.

Holding the heavy, piping-hot jar, Eu's small nose twitched. A rich, intoxicating aroma slowly leaked from the lid's gap, making her want to open it immediately.

The foodie Eu looked up at Raize, blinking her bright eyes. For the first time, Raize clearly saw the emotion within her sapphire eyes. Since her hands were full, she couldn't use her notebook.

Understanding her difficulty, Raize scratched the back of his head, took the jar back, and walked past her, gesturing for her to follow.

A few minutes later, they arrived at an abandoned graveyard at night—the very place where Raize had killed the Magical Girl Kyoko earlier.

The gloomy, desolate atmosphere was perfect for a horror film, with twisted, dead trees clawing like demons.

But to Raize and a certain necromancer girl, this atmosphere meant nothing.

The intoxicating aroma filled the air. Raize and Eu sat together on a large piece of rubble, enjoying the food.

In truth, only Eu was eating. Her movements were elegant, yet incredibly fast. A large bowl of soup and ingredients disappeared in just tens of seconds.

After finishing, Eu unceremoniously handed the bowl back to Raize, who continued serving the silver-haired girl with the impressive appetite.

A feast for the eyes.

Watching the elegant yet rapid eating of the silver-haired girl, Raize recalled the phrase. He had only associated it with Sei at home before—now there was another, the necromancer before him.

Before long, the entire jar of soup was gone, all of it inside the girl's stomach, yet her belly showed no sign of bulging.

Looking at her after the meal, Raize asked, "Are you full?"

(Seventy percent…)

Eu touched her flat stomach and honestly wrote it down, even drawing a chibi version of herself with a stamina bar filled to seven percent.

"A whole jar and you're still not full. You've got quite the appetite." Raize couldn't help complaining.

Did everyone in the underworld have a physique that never gained weight, or did the food digest extremely fast?

(Buddha's Temptation—is that the name of this dish?)

Eu looked a little regretful at the now-empty jar. To be honest, she could eat another one.

"Buddha's Temptation is a shark fin soup. It's a dish from my father's country, invented by a group of beggars. Pretty fitting for you, right?"

Faced with the boy's teasing, Eu widened her star-bright blue eyes slightly and held up her notebook.

(I'm not a beggar (*`へ′*) hmph!)

Seeing the text in which the girl expressed her dissatisfaction with his words, along with the very cute emoticon afterward, Raize could only smile silently as he took desserts out of his backpack space.

When the food container was opened, seven-colored radiance shimmered out. The sweet fragrance made Eu's saliva start to well up again. Inside the box, rainbow-colored puddings glowed with seven hues, sparkling like brilliant gemstones.

Just as Eu was about to properly savor one, she suddenly froze. She and Raize both raised their heads and looked toward the sky above the graveyard.

There, two objects were glowing and making quite a bit of noise.

"What kind of weird crap is showing up again, disturbing people while they're eating?"

Looking up at the two glowing objects rapidly crashing toward their location, Raize complained casually. In Eu's widened eyes, he reached out with one hand, grabbed her slender waist, and in a flash of high-speed movement appeared seated on a sturdy branch of a dead tree.

In the very next second after Raize left, the falling objects slammed viciously into the spot where they had been sitting, producing an exaggerated impact sound and blasting out a large crater.

Sand and gravel were thrown into the air, dust and small stones raining down onto the tombstones.

Just as the shockwave was about to affect them, Raize handed the box of rainbow pudding to Eu. He extended one hand and released energy, forming a faint golden force-field ring that blocked the incoming debris and sand.

Having her meal interrupted, Eu frowned slightly, her beautiful pale brows knitting together as her calm, emotionless gaze turned toward the distant crater.

Inside the crater stood a girl holding a pink chainsaw, using it like a cane to support herself with one hand, while the other rested arrogantly on her hip. She wore a pink outfit similar to that of an Akihabara magical girl.

She appeared to be around 145 centimeters tall, and beneath her feet was an Asian black bear wearing a high school uniform.

"Hmph! If you want to beat this genius, you're still twenty thousand years too early!"

Her chestnut shoulder-length hair fluttered in the wind, a single ahoge bobbing back and forth. She rudely stomped her foot on the massive black bear beneath her.

Her big, cat-like eyes left a strong impression. Of course, in Raize's eyes, they still couldn't compare to Sei's golden eyes, nor to the sapphire-blue eyes of Eu beside him.

(Magical girls… annoying.)

Eu placed the food box on her thighs and held up her notebook with both hands, expressing her displeasure at having her meal disturbed.

"That outfit really looks embarrassingly chuuni."

Raize looked at the second magical girl who had appeared before him and commented on her overly girlish outfit.

"I'm a magical garment girl, not a magical girl! And you dare call my cute and charming outfit chuuni!?"

The magical girl had sharp ears. The moment Raize spoke, she heard his complaint clearly. She slammed the chainsaw straight into the head of the struggling black bear beneath her, killing the Megalo amid a wail as its huge body dissolved into scattered magical energy.

Her large eyes widened as she glared viciously at Raize on the tree branch.

Then her gaze shifted to Eu beside him. She opened her mouth slightly, revealing a cute little fang, and pointed at the expressionless Eu.

"If you're talking about weird outfits, the silver-haired girl next to you wearing plate armor is way stranger."

Eu looked down at the plate armor on her body, then turned to look at Raize.

Facing the emotionless gaze of the girl beside him, Raize glanced at her and spoke softly, "Your outfit suits you well. It looks beautiful on you."

In the crater below, Haruna frowned at the two of them. "Who are you weirdos? Sitting on tree branches in a graveyard in the middle of the night!?"

In her eyes, anyone appearing in a graveyard at night was definitely a weirdo—excluding herself, of course.

Her personality was extremely self-centered, and she never listened to others.

"Well~ whatever. This genius can't be bothered to argue with you."

Haruna ignored their reactions, climbed out of the crater, and raised her hand with fingers spread. A pink magical vortex appeared in front of her palm.

"I'll erase your memories first."

Raize raised an eyebrow. Having devoured the magical girl Kyoko before, he naturally recognized this as memory-erasure magic.

He was just about to counterattack and teach this self-important girl a lesson when he suddenly stopped.

A playful expression appeared on Raize's face as he looked at the girl below with her hand raised.

The cosplay-like outfit on her body was slowly dissolving into particles of light, even her snow-white skin becoming faintly visible.

Under the gazes of Eu and Raize, the girl ended up completely naked—while she herself seemed totally unaware.

"Did you do this?"

Raize turned his head to look at the silver-haired, expressionless girl beside him. She shook her head, then nodded.

(Not on purpose. She brought it on herself.)

Magic was attracted to stronger magic. Raize remembered this setting from the original work. Haruna's magic dispersing and leaving her naked was because she had foolishly used magic on Eu.

As a necromancer standing at the center of the world, possessing terrifying magical reserves, Haruna's spell could never affect Eu. Using magic on Eu simply resulted in all of it being passively absorbed by her.

"Eh? The magic didn't work? What's going on?"

Haruna stared blankly at the dissipating magic vortex in front of her palm, clearly confused.

"Huh!?"

When she noticed Raize's teasing gaze, she glanced down at herself. Her face instantly flushed red, the blush spreading rapidly over her entire body.

"Don't look over here! You filthy pervert!"

"A naked freak exposing herself in front of others doesn't get to say that. Where did you crawl out from, you shameless woman?"

Raize had no intention of indulging her. From start to finish, she had brought this upon herself.

"Y-You!! Idiot!!!"

Haruna covered herself in extreme embarrassment, squatting down helplessly, glaring at Raize and Eu like an enraged cat with puffed-up fur.

"You two aren't normal people, are you!?"

Faced with her furious questioning, Raize shrugged helplessly. "I'm just a passing high school student."

(Passing necromancer.)

Eu also held up her notebook toward Haruna.

"Whoever you are, hurry up and give my magic back! Now! Immediately! Instantly! In the blink of an eye!"

Haruna glared up viciously from beneath the tree. She couldn't even stand up—if she did, she'd be completely exposed.

Though… she already had been seen.
