Chapter 71- Interests
"Mmmmm…"
Elio tossed and turned around in the bed, unable to fall asleep again. Even though his body still felt quite exhausted, he couldn't stop thinking about what he had heard earlier. His heart was racing, and his thoughts were chaotic.
His mind kept repeating the question Fiona asked… Why? Why did he do all of that for her, even though he could've escaped? Why did he risk his life just to protect her when the two were barely acquaintances who met a week ago?
He himself didn't know why he did it, but deep down, every cell of his being told him that it was what he wanted. He didn't even bother to think much about it; his body moved on its own, picked up Fiona, and ran with all his strength.
Even when the monsters attacked him, he didn't think about escaping for a second. He stood there, fighting relentlessly. The way he put his body forth, taking all the attacks and stabs.
