The Druids had passed by without pointing him out; they had shown the man whom they had witnessed tormenting the people in the windowless hut many times before.
This couldn't be a coincidence; these people who had suffered so much were only pointing out the soldiers who tortured them because of their incredibly naive personalities; they seemed to have forgiven those who had raped them.
Even so, only fourteen of the captive soldiers, whose numbers were a little over a hundred, were still where they first knelt.
Despite all this goodwill, it seemed the majority wouldn't escape the hands of death; there was a different light in the eyes of Pehlivan looking at the sadist herd, among whom was also the commander with the curled mustache.
When the Druids were done, they hurriedly started walking toward their heavily wounded comrades; while passing by Nafız standing on their path, they couldn't even look at her face out of fear. Only the person whose face was covered by green hair gathered all his courage and started speaking.
"Sir, we have forgiven these people; I hope you will show mercy too!"
The attitude assumed by the Druids, whom she had tried to help take their rightful revenge from the beginning, had now become thoroughly annoying for Nafız.
"Keep walking; let alone you, even if God forgives, I won't!"
This much forgiveness wasn't a burden Nafız could handle, who had proceeded in a live-or-die manner since the moment she was born, even if a human lived inside her.
"Yes gentlemen, even if those wretches leaving didn't point you out, I know that you too entered and exited that place at least once. Don't be afraid; since the right to choose was theirs, I will respect it, but my weapons haven't stooped so low as to shed the degenerate blood of this filth community."
Due to the words in the first part of the frail female orc's sentence, the tension of the captives who thought they saved their lives had hit rock bottom, but after her subsequent statements, they could relax a bit.
"You will handle this job; looking from here, you don't look stupid enough to ignore my request. If there is anyone among you who thinks otherwise, you can discuss the matter with my friend on your right!"
Where Nafız pointed stood Pehlivan, reaching three meters in height; what was meant to be said was simple. The female orc had said, "Whoever has the balls can come."
"You whores, whoever dares to do this cannot escape the organization's wrath!"
The voice was coming from where the commander with the curled mustache was; since his tongue was no longer where it should be, another soldier who wanted to use the opportunity intended to use his influence.
"To you and your organization, shut your mouth, dog!"
The action of the soldier hurling threats was as absurd as saying "be careful, you might slip and fall" to a person with a greasy noose around his neck; when his move backfired, seeing those coming first to kill him, he also harbored these same thoughts.
All captives had their hands handcuffed, but currently, some could move enough to swing battle axes. The life-and-death struggle would pass at least as ruthlessly as life itself; although many lives were taken under weapons, a not insignificant number had also gone from those intending to kill.
The people struggling for dear life had managed to take down some of their friends who cast the bloody shadow of death upon them. Even though they couldn't use their hands, they were fighting savagely with their teeth, nails, and kicks to destroy the people they laughed and had fun with just that morning.
"Those who go are gone; the remaining survivors are ours!"
After Nafız's tactic of setting dogs on dogs, the number of soldiers surviving in the huge outpost was as many as the fingers on two hands; although Alyon, whose heart couldn't cool down no matter what, wanted to tear them apart, he was holding himself back with difficulty for the sake of his friend.
"You are coming with me; shove the rest into a house and leave Pehlivan as a sentry at their head, Alyon!"
While the female orc pointed first with her finger to the soldier she met in the room of the commander with the curled mustache, she told her friend what he needed to do from the other side.
While returning to the dead commander's room with the captive she drove before her, there was a thoughtful look on her face; no matter what they had done, her mind was still on the wretches they had taken out of the hut that had turned into a slaughterhouse.
"I will ask you some questions; if you act like a man and give proper answers, fine. If you say no, I want to play the hero, even begging for death to come to you won't help!"
While telling the aide she hurled into the room what she would do, Nafız stated her determination harshly.
"Supreme Blood God Nafız, please spare my life. I swear I will do whatever you say!"
"There is no Blood God or anything here; there is only Nafız!"
When he started begging, the young soldier had tried to choose the fanciest words; after receiving such a response from the orc opposite him, he didn't know what to say.
"As far as I understand, you were the lackey of the characterless cur living here; you must know quite a few things. Tell me, what is happening in the Wild Swamp?"
His former master had died in a gruesome way before his eyes; did the man who didn't want to share the same fate have any chance other than turning into a nightingale and singing?
"Sir, the Wild Swamp is currently in the grip of a great invasion!"
It wasn't that the young man didn't want to talk, but his teeth clattering hard due to the fear he experienced were blocking his way like impassable mountains.
"Calm down; as long as you answer my questions, I will spare your life!"
"Sir, I swear to you, I didn't set foot in that filth nest even once; there is a woman I love, I didn't cheat on her, sir!"
The perspective of the youth who had been the aide of the cruel and ruthless commander for a long time was completely different; according to him, even if the Druids didn't do it, these two orcs would kill all the soldiers.
"My name is Nafız; if a word has come out of my mouth, there is no turning back. Don't annoy me further and answer what I ask!"
Realizing that falling into hesitation would be his end, the soldier would return to the explanations he cut short.
"Four Civilizations have captured all four corners of the continent; only the Druid settlement located in the core is resisting the invasion!"
"Continue, don't stall!"
Nafız wanted more information; she didn't even allow the young aide to take a break to swallow.
"Sir, the area we are in is invaded by Mercenaries; the northwest of the continent is held under control by the units of the Hell Realm."
"To prevent an unnecessary conflict, the Lands of Light maintain their dominance in the exact opposite direction. Since the two civilizations are arch-enemies, the Machine Lords operate in the northeast to prevent them from being side by side!"
While they were waging a struggle for freedom on the Orc Steppes, right next to them, another civilization was being subjected to genocide. It wasn't possible for them to isolate themselves from this event; apart from being neighbors, orcs and druids had been inseparable allies throughout history.
Thinking a little, it wasn't too hard to understand the reason for this; Druids were a naive and overly merciful race living on fertile lands; in contrast, orcs scorched in drought were dark and wild as if they were the shadow of these people.
The two civilizations were condemned to attract each other like opposite poles; it wasn't possible for one to exist without the other. The biggest proof for this thesis was the situation the two civilizations fell into in the hundred years that passed since the death of the Orc Lord Cesuryürek as a result of his brother's betrayal.
"What do the other civilizations want from this continent? They didn't come all that way because they fell for the green of its tree or the flow of its river, right?"
"You are right, sir; all four communities have a single goal: to seize the life essence of the The Divine Tree protecting the main Druid settlement for a hundred years!"
