Chapter 7 - Yedi

Before Nafız could slowly open her eyes, she wondered which hell she was about to be sent to now. While waiting for the sound of metal to reach her ears, she had regained consciousness and was examining her surroundings. She and the severely wounded Wobblehead beside her found themselves inside an entirely white room.

Nafız, investigating the room with curious eyes, discovered that, apart from the endless white, there was only a blood-red colored door inside the room. While the injured Wobblehead lay unconscious, Nafız's mind was invaded by various thoughts.

"Leave him, he will only be a burden to you!"

"Kill him, end his suffering!"

Because of these thoughts rushing in like the waters of a burst dam, Nafız stood frozen to the spot. After this brief pause, she whispered softly:

"Maybe I was never very brave or very virtuous, but I'm not dishonorable enough to abandon those who help me."

Asserting her will and driving away the passing thoughts, Nafız clung to Wobblehead's massive head and walked toward the only object in the room. The blood oozing from Wobblehead's wounds formed a red line on the floor of the milk-white room.

When she reached it, she discovered there were two holes in the door, which was decorated with various patterns and reliefs. Nafız's fingers started bleeding when they touched the razor-sharp edges as she reached out her hand to investigate the inside of the holes, which resembled a creature's small mouth. As the blood from her hand was rapidly drawn into the mouth-shaped holes, Nafız understood what needed to be done. The door demanded blood; although she wasn't one hundred percent sure, she concluded that this was the only way to make it open.

Under normal circumstances, she wouldn't hesitate to ask Wobblehead to take on this task, but using someone unconscious and losing a lot of blood for this amounted to the same thing as killing him.

Nafız took a deep breath, clenched her teeth, and then put her hands into the holes in the door. When they reached her wrists, the sharp edges tore her skin and allowed the blood to flow into the door. During these moments, time stood still for Nafız, who was waiting for the door to open immediately.

Just as she began to feel the blood being entirely drawn from her limbs, she discovered that the flow from her hands had stopped. As the door began to open slowly, Nafız pulled her hands from the holes, watching the miraculous healing of the wounds on her wrists.

Nafız, weak from the blood loss she had experienced, dragged Wobblehead through the door. Looking at the room they had entered, she saw it was designed like a small laboratory. Various problems were written on the boards on the wall, and there were some test tubes on the tables. Many substances inside the glass containers were bubbling, adding a mysterious atmosphere to the environment.

There was also a door in this room. Unlike the ornate structure of the previous one, this door was made of plain black material. Apparently, the door had neither a handle nor a lock. Nafız, examining the door for a while, couldn't find any clues.

Unable to get results from the door, Nafız began examining the surrounding materials. When she came to one of the boards, she discovered it had a geometry problem written on it. Nafız, hastily inspecting the entire board, her face lit up with joy.

"This is the most basic level geometry, damn it!"

When Nafız wrote the answer to the question—which asked for the remaining angle of a triangle given two angles—with the chalk in her hand, a lock-clicking sound came from the door. Nafız, understanding the logic of the situation, quickly set to work.

As a lock-opening sound accompanied every problem she solved, all the questions on the boards were finished. Although the questions would be very difficult for an orc, Nafız solved the simple problems without any trouble because the educational system hadn't been completely ruined when she finished high school.

Contrary to Nafız's expectation, the door did not open, so she turned to the test tubes on the tables. Next to each experiment was a parchment containing instructions; in a way she couldn't explain, she could easily read what was written.

When the last experiment was completed, the door opened fully on its own. When Nafız entered the next room, she couldn't believe her eyes at what she saw. Kızgınboğa was waiting for them, war hammer in hand.

"Did you think you could escape me? It's a great kindness to carry your corpse here." Kızgınboğa continued to speak as he walked toward the duo. "You wounded me, you displaced me! I won't stop until I tear both of you to shreds!"

Nafız looked frantically from side to side and saw a dagger stuck in the ground beside her. Wobblehead lay unconscious behind her, while Kızgınboğa attacked head-on with his horns.

Realizing that running would be useless, Nafız let out a cry and attacked Kızgınboğa's horns with the dagger in her hand. In these moments, where time seemed to flow as slowly as if it were about to stop, Nafız did not close her eyes, unlike before. As she advanced toward Kızgınboğa's large, horned head, her eyes were blazing fiercely.

Just as the two fighters were about to clash, Nafız felt a sharp smell in her nose and almost fainted. Shaking herself back to consciousness, the scene in front of her had completely changed; she woke up facing a beauty looking at her with red eyes full of murderous intent. When she lowered her gaze to look at the coldness she felt on her throat, she saw that the dagger she was holding just moments ago was now pressed against her throat.

"Don't move, little mouse! Wait quietly for your friend!" The woman, turning her head to the right, looked in a direction where Wobblehead was seen beside an orc as large as himself. The other orc's hands were on the throat of the passed-out Wobblehead.

"You passed the tests; let's see if your friend can pass! I hope it won't be a problem for you to know that I'll bathe in your blood if he fails!" The woman, speaking accompanied by a mocking laugh, her ruby-red eyes sparkling brightly.

When Wobblehead finally opened his eyes after the tense wait, Nafız was on the verge of being deafened by the sound of her own heart beating.

"Alright, mate, it's all over, wait calmly without moving." Wobblehead groaned with pain as he tried to get up, and the orc waiting with hands on his throat gently pressed down on Wobblehead's head as he spoke. Although this orc, like the other woman in the room, had a hologram-like structure, their appearance and touch created an identical effect to reality.

"Mora, I am so happy that such a kind-hearted youth will receive my inheritance. What do you think?" The massive orc asked, looking into the red-haired woman's eyes.

"Although he is very ugly, this brat has a strong heart! I guess the time has come for us to retire to our eternal rest, Alyon." Unlike her previous fierce demeanor, her voice trembled as she spoke the last sentence, and her eyes welled up. Alyon, realizing Mora was getting emotional, turned to the orcs who were stuck sitting on the floor to change the subject.

"You warriors who have earned the right to receive our inheritance, please introduce yourselves!"

"Trembler!" The shock of the events unfolding before her was reflected in Nafız's voice; the word that came out of her mouth came out trembling, befitting its wretched nature.

"My name is also Wobblehead!" Wobblehead managed to say his name barely, due to the broken ribs.

"You cruel fate, you wouldn't even leave us alone in death, would you?" Mora let out an angry scream upon learning the names of the people who would receive their inheritance.

"Calm down, Mora!" Alyon spoke, adding seriousness to his voice. "Didn't these individuals pass the specified tests? The Dungeon chose them, and we must accept it!" Alyon continued his words, disregarding Mora's angry stares.

"I am Alyon, son of the former Orc Lord Cesuryürek, and this beautiful lady is Mora, the daughter of Abarran, the most famous Weapons Master of the Realm of Hell, and the woman I love."

These words from Alyon calmed Mora and perhaps drove her into a little melancholy. Alyon continued speaking after a short pause.

"We are warriors who made our names known across this continent about a hundred years ago. Before being killed by a treacherous plan, we bound our inheritance and our being to this dungeon."

Nafız, forgetting everything that had happened, was listening to Alyon's speech with rapt attention, while Wobblehead groaned in pain from his injuries.

"Be patient, mate, all your pain will end once you fulfill the final condition and receive my inheritance." Alyon spoke, looking hopefully at Wobblehead.

"When you swear to take our revenge, all our inheritance will be yours. Do you want our inheritance, even if it means taking on the whole world?" Mora posed her question with an inquiring look.

"Yes, we want your inheritance, whatever the result may be!" Nafız answered immediately, unable to suppress the impulse from within despite all her reservations. Nafız, witnessing the power of the manifestation of these beings who died a hundred years ago, thought, "I would rather die with strength than live wretchedly."

"You have made a very right decision! After all this talk, it would pain me to kill you too." Mora continued speaking, putting on a smile that warmed the heart, while two coffins appeared out of nowhere behind her.

"All our treasure and our very being are waiting for you inside the coffins. When you take our inheritance, you will also take our consciousness along with it. If you don't want to lose our inheritance, never forget the promise you made!"

After finishing her words, Alyon's hologram slowly began to disappear. Mora, holding his hands tightly, accompanied him in this fading.

Nafız couldn't find anything to say in the face of the scene; with a melancholy that settled within her, she walked up to Wobblehead.

"Get up, mate, now is the time for us to start our new life!"
