The sky is bloody red signifying time of evening and a beautiful castle stands under this setting sun. The castle is made of stones which are reflecting the sunlight to some extent giving the castle a orange glow.
In a room sits a woman who looks to be middle aged that is easily 35 or more but her beauty is still there to see but some wrinkles are also visible on her face. At this moment she has a stern and strict expression on her face and sitting in front of her is a teenage girl who looks to be 16 or 17. The girl has an extremely beautiful face, her body is petite but with some womanly curves and features. Her hair is dark black with brown eyes.
The woman looks at the teenage girl with a stern expression and asks, "Tell me Alice how the flag of Liam state looks like?"
The girl looks at her the woman and says in a doubtful tone, "Two black swords on a golden field?"
The woman puts her hand on her head and says to the girl," No Alice, it is two golden swords on black field. How can you mess up such a simple question?"
The girl looks at the woman with an annoyed expression and says," I wasn't wrong by much mother. I was just a little bit confused with the colours."
Her mother looks at her with an angry expression on her face and says," You will remember everything if you try but you aren't even putting up any effort in it. How are you going to represent our family when all the lords and ladies comes for your father's nameday?"
Alice looks at her mother and says," Why do I even need to meet them? I can just be with my brother and you can manage it all."
Her mother looks at her with an angry expression and asks loudly," What about when I am not there? When you will be married, how will you manage your husband family and events in his fort?"
Alice looks at her mother with an equally angry expression and says," I have told you many times I will never marry a guy who expects these sort of things from me. If a man is so interested in holding events he can do it himself."
Her mother asks loudly," Tell me which lord will marry a woman who can't manage his household, don't know a thing about politics and just sits there like a pretty doll?"
Alice looks at her mother and says," I am not a pretty doll and there must be a lord who expects none of these things from me and if there isn't one then I will marry a trader if not then even a farmer will suffice."
Her mother patience breaks at this point and she looks at her daughter with an angry expression and screams, " Out; Out of this room now."
Alice stands up and walks out of the room. Just outside of the room a teenage boy who looks to be 17 is standing and the moment Alice walks out he walks up to her and says,"Sister you didn't need to annoy mom like this."
Alice looks at him with a shocked expression and says while walking in the corridor away from the room," You are my twin brother, you are supposed to support me not betray me Amber. And can't you see what mom does? She annoys me to the point I fell like taking my own life."
The teenage boy named Amber looks at Alice and says,"But you need to know flags and the lordship otherwise what will you do in the event. How will you recognise all the lords and which land they ruled over?"
Alice looks at her brother with an annoyed expression and says," Pardry flag is a golden lion face on blue background and that's all I need to know."
Amber looks at Alice and says," What about other lords and their state?"
Alice says," Why should I care which land those lords rule, they can care about their lands all they want?"
Amber looks at her and says," If you hadn't tortured the past teachers to the point where they won't even come close to you, such a situation wouldn't have occurred and you wouldn't need to learn from mom."
Alice says," I didn't torture them. They are just making a big deal out of nothing."
Amber looks at her and says," You cut off the leg of table and when the teacher put his weight on the table he fell on his face and if that wasn't enough you set up some wooden pieces so when the teacher opened the gate a bucket of cow dung fell on him. Now tell me how is this not a torture?"
Alice starts laughing and says," That was really funny specially the expression on his face. You should have seen it, you would have died laughing."
Amber looks at her and says,"Sister you need to get serious in life, whether we like it or not someday you will have to go to some other man's house. How will you live there if you don't change yourself?"
Alice looks at her twin brother seriously and says," But I am not interested in managing someone household, I want to know about how houses and castles are built, how does a stone path which doesn't have any ground beneath it stands on top of a river, how does some small pillers supports a huge roof on top of it? That is the real me and if someone can't live with the real me why should I live and suffer with him."
Amber also looks sad but suddenly lightens up and says to Alice," Forget about all this for now. First we should think about the nameday event. I have learnt that even uncle and aunt are coming from capital and even brother is coming from the border after repelling the invaders."
Alice face also lightens up at the mention of her brother and uncle and she says," Great, I will at last get some relief from my tyrannical mother."
Amber looks at her and says," Enough sister, let us go and get dinner."
