The explosion sounded and shattered a large number of wooden planks.
Smoke and dust filled the air, mixed with clusters of flames.
A few scorched wooden boards flew to the feet of the team, as if displaying their destruction.
"Kakashi!"
Akira Tsubaki called out.
Whoosh!
Kakashi immediately jumped out and rushed in the direction of the wind that carried the attack.
Ten Minutes Later.
Team Minato and Ibiki Morino gathered together, looking at a blank sealed scroll on the ground.
"So, you searched around and only found this?" Akira Tsubaki frowned.
"Yes! And no one was found," Kakashi explained.
Akira Tsubaki had asked Kakashi to investigate because he lacked the sensory ability to detect the enemy.
But now, even Kakashi hadn't found the enemy.
"So, my initial judgment was correct: there are no enemies nearby at all."
After thinking it over, Akira Tsubaki looked at the sealed scroll again.
The answer was obvious.
"Using Wind Style Ninjutsu (Fūton) stored in a sealed scroll, combined with Detonating Tags, to design a destruction mechanism?" Akira Tsubaki murmured.
"It should be. After all, many Ninjas in Sunagakure are proficient in puppet mechanisms," Kakashi nodded.
"This is troublesome," Ibiki Morino sighed.
The enemy didn't even show up; they relied solely on a pre-arranged mechanism to blow up the supply station again.
What was most frustrating was that they had just begun rebuilding, and the walls weren't even fully nailed up.
"The planks were blown to pieces. How can we rebuild?" Obito asked the most critical question.
"I just saw that those wooden boards are no longer usable," Rin echoed.
On the ground.
Team Minato collectively looked at Akira Tsubaki.
This puzzled Ibiki Morino even more.
Shouldn't they be asking the genius Kakashi when they have a problem? Why are they all staring at the Dead Last, Akira Tsubaki? Is he smarter?
Thump!
Standing up, Akira Tsubaki began assigning tasks.
"The top priority is not to rebuild the supply station, but to find this Sunagakure team!"
"Only by eliminating the threat can the supply station be safe. Otherwise, the supply station will still be bombed while we're building it."
Team Minato collectively nodded after hearing Akira Tsubaki's logic.
Even Ibiki Morino thought it made perfect sense.
But the problem was—
How to find them?
"We only have five people; we absolutely must not disperse our search. Under these circumstances, it's almost impossible to find this Sunagakure team!" Ibiki Morino stated.
After he made his suggestion, no one in Team Minato paid him any attention.
Only Akira Tsubaki seemed to have an idea, and he walked aside with Ibiki Morino's shoulder draped over his.
"Kiki."
"Call me by my full name!" Ibiki Morino reminded him again.
"I have a very important mission for you now!" Akira Tsubaki patted Xiaoxi's shoulder, his face serious.
"What mission?"
"You write slogans on wooden boards—slogans swearing at Sunagakure—the more vicious the better."
"Then what?"
"Well~~ Then you nail these slogans to nearby trees. Remember to nail a lot of them."
After hearing Akira Tsubaki's plan, Ibiki Morino realized it was meant to bait the Sunagakure team.
But would it work?
After assigning Ibiki Morino's mission, Akira Tsubaki found Kakashi.
"Kakashi, send a message to Supply Depot No. 2 and ask them to bring a truckload of supplies over."
"I'll go right away." Kakashi nodded and turned to leave.
He wasn't worried about Team Minato's safety because Akira Tsubaki was there.
"What about me? What do I do?" Obito moved closer, afraid of being forgotten.
"You? Help Kiki think of insults for Sunagakure."
Rin also wanted a task.
Finally, Akira Tsubaki assigned her to write slogans as well.
After all, Ibiki Morino was injured and his mobility was limited.
It was getting dark.
One by one, scorched wooden boards engraved with vicious slogans were nailed to the trees.
Akira Tsubaki surveyed the area and felt that Obito's literary talent was actually quite remarkable—just as expected from someone good at writing short essays.
[Sunagakure Dead Family]
[Sunagakure, You are Done For]
[Worthless Sunagakure, Only Knows Sneak Attack]
[Kazekage and Chiyo are Dogs and Whores]
[Sunagakure Kneel Down and Call Us Dad]
"How is it?"
Running in front of Akira Tsubaki, Obito looked proud.
In terms of sheer viciousness, who else could compare?
"Well, although it's a bit vulgar, it's barely acceptable," Akira Tsubaki complimented him.
Rustle~~
Suddenly, Akira Tsubaki turned his head and looked toward the road.
Sound! The sound of people and an ox cart!
After a short while.
Kakashi returned, and he had brought a truck full of supplies. To Akira Tsubaki's surprise, the person transporting the supplies was Mitarashi Anko!
"Not long after I set off, I ran into Dango-face," Kakashi explained.
"Hey! Kakashi, don't make me insult you!" Mitarashi Anko stood with her hands on her hips, dissatisfied.
Then, she saw Team Minato facing her collectively.
One against four insults?
I seem to be at a huge disadvantage.
Forget it, I'll just bear it.
After some communication, Akira Tsubaki learned Anko's destination.
She was headed to Supply Station No. 5 and had taken the mission to deliver supplies along the way.
"You weren't attacked along the way?" Akira Tsubaki asked.
"Heh~~ Your Sensei, Minato, protected me for a while, so it was very safe," Mitarashi Anko said carelessly.
"I see."
Akira Tsubaki understood.
Minato-sensei must have been assigned a search-and-capture mission, and he provided an escort for Anko along the way.
"Rest tonight. Tomorrow, we will escort the supplies together," Akira Tsubaki's plan had taken shape.
"This, is this appropriate?" Mitarashi Anko couldn't believe it.
Since when was the Dead Last, Akira Tsubaki, so nice? Not only did he not insult her, but he asked all of Team Minato to help escort her supplies?
What surprised her even more was that Kakashi didn't object!
"Wait a minute! I need to ask, who is the captain of your Team Minato?" Mitarashi Anko asked, confused.
"Is that important?" Akira Tsubaki asked indifferently.
Night fell.
Sitting by the campfire, Akira Tsubaki reviewed tomorrow's plans with Kakashi.
"The purpose of the Sunagakure team destroying Supply Station No. 3 is to prevent supply transportation."
"Because Supply Station No. 3 is the farthest from the village and the front line, and it's located in the middle. From this, I judge—"
"This Sunagakure team must have very few people."
Akira Tsubaki spoke, and Kakashi listened intently.
"Tomorrow, we will all escort the supplies and fish out this Sunagakure team."
"Wait a minute," Kakashi interrupted Akira Tsubaki.
"If you want to fish them out, shouldn't the fewer people present be better?"
"Heh~~ Few people? If you were the Sunagakure Ninja, would you think that was a good target?" Akira Tsubaki countered.
