Chapter 115: Return ~ A Brief Tranquility

[Pirate World]

Back at Naval Headquarters, Yuichi was immediately surrounded by Vice Admirals.

"Mr. Yuichi, has that One Tail become your power?"

"What does it feel like to have the power of a Tailed Beast?"

"Can you demonstrate it?"

"Mr. Yuichi... Mr. Yuichi..."

The officers were obviously curious, and perhaps many were coveting the power for themselves. Yuichi used Flash Step to disappear from the crowd, exiting the square. However, they seemed intent on chasing him.

Sengoku suddenly spoke up. "Go back to work! Don't you have anything to do?"

Hearing the Fleet Admiral's command, the officers stopped and dispersed.

The Seven Warlords also prepared to leave Marineford. The next war wouldn't start for seven days, and it seemed they didn't need to be physically present at HQ to participate. As long as they were under Marine command, they could be selected.

Yuichi walked through the back streets of Marineford. Now he understood why Jinchūriki were treated as they were in the Ninja World. Having great power was one thing, but when that power could be transferred to others, it caused endless trouble.

Before long, a soldier notified Yuichi to report to Sengoku's office.

Upon entering, Yuichi saw Sengoku just hanging up a transponder snail. The Fleet Admiral's face looked wrong. Who would call Sengoku immediately after the war ended?

"Yuichi!" Sengoku looked up with a serious expression. "Your swordsmanship... what exactly is it? Is it the power of a Devil Fruit?"

Yuichi had expected this. Fortunately, Senbonzakura's Shikai wasn't too exaggerated, but Bankai was different—it didn't look like swordsmanship at all.

"I knew Mr. Sengoku would ask this eventually." Yuichi smiled and sat across from him.

"It's been a while since the worlds merged. I feel like something is different. A power even I don't understand allows me to change the blade."

Sengoku was silent for a few seconds, then nodded. "I see! Then what happened to the white flames you released during the duel?"

White flame? He meant Hado.

Yuichi explained flatly, "It's the same. An indescribable feeling. It seems similar to the Chakra they use, but slightly different."

Sengoku stared at Yuichi, but the young Marine's eyes never wavered. Judging from his performance, Yuichi might be telling the truth. The worlds were merging; perhaps the power of the Otherworld was manifesting in Yuichi ahead of time. Given Yuichi's talent, it wasn't impossible.

"Did Mr. Sengoku ask me here just for this?"

"No!" Sengoku shook his head hastily, his expression shifting. "Yuichi... that... Can you give the One Tail to the Marines?"

One Tail? So they were targeting Shukaku.

Shukaku was currently suppressed by the Power of Void (Hollowfication) inside Yuichi, allowing him to mobilize the Tailed Beast's chakra unscrupulously. However, releasing Shukaku was impossible. Yuichi didn't know how to control the Hollow power fully yet.

"Sorry, Mr. Sengoku, I'm afraid I can't do that. Although I can use the beast's power, I can't release it at all."

Hearing this, Sengoku's expression didn't change much; perhaps he had expected the refusal. He nodded. "Okay, I understand. Don't leave Marineford anytime soon. Get acquainted with the power of the beast."

"I will."

Yuichi watched as Sengoku waved him out. Seeing the hidden conflict in Sengoku's eyes, Yuichi felt strange. The Fleet Admiral seemed to have more to say but stopped himself.

After Yuichi closed the door and left the building, Sengoku suddenly smashed the desk in front of him to pieces.

"Those people... do they want power that much?"

"The ones fighting desperately to win are us Marines! Is sitting in the back not enough? Do they still want to control all the power in their hands?"

Sengoku was furious. The person on the phone had been none other than the Five Elders, the highest authority in the world. They had been blunt.

"Shukaku! The Tailed Beast! It must be handed over to the World Government for management!"

"No matter how powerful that kid's talent is, or how important his combat power is to the Marines, that Tailed Beast must be handed over!"

It was an order. They didn't give Sengoku a chance to speak.

Sengoku hadn't expected them to be so greedy. No matter how strong the beast was, the power was better placed with Yuichi than anyone else. He could secure victories for the Pirate World and prevent destruction. But the Five Elders disregarded the safety of the world for the sake of their greed and control.

A bunch of idiots blinded by power!

Sengoku let out a long breath.

The door opened, and Garp stood there, holding a donut. "I think those people are making you angry again, Sengoku! Bwahaha! I told you not to become Fleet Admiral, but you didn't listen. Now you know the trouble it brings!"

Mocked by Garp, Sengoku wasn't in the mood to retort. He remained silent for a second, then his gaze hardened as he looked directly at his old friend.

"Do you dare to accompany me to the Holy Land, Garp?"

Garp, mid-bite, paused. He looked at Sengoku. Was the old guy going to put all his eggs in one basket?

Hehehe!

Garp dropped the donut. "The Marines are not alone! There is nothing I, Garp, dare not do!"

The two looked at each other and smiled. Soon, a warship set sail from Marineford, heading toward the Holy Land.
