Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 – Jiang Fang, Return to Jiangnan Base City

"Oh? What good news?"

Jiang Yan glanced at Janet, suddenly intrigued.

"My teacher is going back to Jiangnan Base City too. We can return with her this time!" Janet said, eyes bright with excitement.

"Your teacher… Jiang Fang is going back?"

Jiang Yan's heart stirred.

Jiang Fang.

The famed "Moon Witch."

A master of the blade—one of the strongest intermediate Gods of War in the country.

Between Gods of War, the gap could be vast.

Yang Hui was technically an intermediate God of War as well, but because his focus had long been on scouting talents for the Extreme Martial Arts headquarters—and his age was catching up with him—he couldn't even beat a student like Shi Jiang now.

But Jiang Fang wasn't like that.

She had spent her early years soaking in blood and killing intent, then devoted the rest of her life entirely to cultivation. She was only in her early thirties—and terrifyingly strong.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have earned the title "Moon Witch."

"Yes! She's already waiting," Janet said happily as she tugged Jiang Yan inside. "Come on, let's pack and meet her!"

Jiang Yan nodded and began preparing.

Before long, Jiang Yan was carrying a large box in his right hand while holding Janet's smaller luggage in his left, walking toward the headquarters gate with her.

"If only I had a storage ring…"

He glanced at the cumbersome box and sighed inwardly.

There were indeed places on Earth where storage rings existed—but none he could touch with his current strength.

The No.12 Ancient Civilization Relic, located inside the Black Dragon Mountain X81 spaceship…

Even Hong and Thunder God couldn't enter—how could he?

And even if he could enter in the future, without Babata's advanced intelligence, he wouldn't be able to control the ship or bypass its self-destruct protocols.

The mechanical E-class spaceship hidden in the Bermuda Triangle?

Even more impossible at the moment.

Which meant the only realistic chance he had in the near future was—

Meteor Star's underground ruins on Kirishima Island.

Hu Yanbo had prepared a storage ring for his disciple. A very large one.

But Jiang Yan wasn't interested in that ring.

Babata would never hand it over anyway; that ring symbolized Meteor Star's heir.

And Jiang Yan wasn't a spiritual force user.

He didn't meet the requirements for Hu Yanbo's inheritance.

But—besides the heir's ring, Babata must have other storage rings.

When the time came, he would ask for one.

And Babata wouldn't refuse something that trivial.

A storage ring would make life much easier.

"Jiang Yan! Teacher is over there!"

Janet's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

Jiang Yan looked up.

Ahead, seven or eight people stood together.

At the front was a short-haired woman with sharp, beautiful features. Two curved blades hung crossed behind her back. She stood still, yet gave off the impression of a sheathed weapon—cold, sharp, lethal.

The Moon Witch: Jiang Fang.

Beside her stood Shi Jiang and Zhao Ruo—both returning to Jiangnan Base City as well. The others were Jiang Fang's remaining students, all young women, preparing to take the same car to the airport.

"Teacher!"

Janet and Jiang Yan greeted in unison.

"Hm."

Jiang Fang nodded lightly, her gaze falling on Jiang Yan for the first time.

She had heard his name countless times over the past days.

But this was the first time seeing him in person.

Jiang Yan also nodded to Shi Jiang and Zhao Ruo—simple, polite greeting.

"You use the knife?" Jiang Fang suddenly asked, studying the box in his hand—and him.

As someone from Jiangnan Base City, Jiang Yan would officially enter the camp next March. He'd likely be assigned to Jiangnan Pavilion—and she would become his teacher.

Plus, they shared the same surname.

Jiang Fang was naturally more curious.

"I'm mainly training with the spear now," Jiang Yan replied. No point in hiding it.

"You're focusing on spear training now?"

Jiang Fang frowned slightly.

Didn't the information say he used a blade?

Shi Jiang and Zhao Ruo froze too, confused.

Everyone in the training camp knew Jiang Yan as a knife user.

Why had he suddenly changed weapons?

It wasn't their fault—Jiang Yan spent most of his time training in Janet's private cultivation room. Few had seen his recent practice.

"Jiang Yan," Zhao Ruo blurted out, "why switch to a spear out of nowhere? Doesn't that waste all your previous knife training?"

A warrior changing weapons midway meant a massive drop in combat strength.

Starting from scratch wasn't something most dared attempt.

Jiang Yan only smiled, saying nothing.

He had a golden finger.

He didn't fear wasted time.

After more than twenty days of practice, his spear technique realm had already surpassed his blade technique realm.

Besides—

using a spear was just like using a longer blade.

There were many similarities.

"What level is your spear technique now?" Jiang Fang asked, voice calm but eyes sharp.

"Specialization," Jiang Yan said simply.

The words fell—and everyone stiffened.

They thought they had misheard.

Specialization? In such a short time?!

This wasn't normal genius.

This was one of those ten-thousand-in-a-generation monsters.

Janet noticed their stunned expressions and instantly lifted her chin proudly.

Her man was incredible.

"What kind of freak…"

Shi Jiang inhaled sharply. He could never do that.

Jiang Fang exhaled softly, a faint chill in her voice.

"Use whatever weapon you like. If you run into bottlenecks in the future, come find me."

"Alright, Teacher. I just hope you won't feel annoyed when I come too often," Jiang Yan replied with a smile.

She was one of his targets anyway.

Since she opened the door, he would not waste the chance.

The corners of Jiang Fang's lips curved slightly, carrying a dangerous, enchanting arc.

"As long as you have the strength, you are welcome anytime."

With that, she turned and walked toward a special vehicle parked nearby.

Everyone followed.

Soon, the group boarded the special car, which sped toward the airport.

After arriving, Jiang Fang's other students split off to board flights to their own base cities.

"Teacher, the flight to Jiangnan Base City is about to depart," Zhao Ruo reminded after checking the time.

Jiang Fang nodded, and the group used their warrior privileges to pass through the VIP channel and boarded the plane.

Ten minutes later, the aircraft lifted off, heading straight for Jiangnan Base City.

Jiangnan Base City

At that same moment, Venina received a message.

She sat on her plush sofa, reading the notification on her communicator. Her eyes softened as she murmured to herself:

"He switched to spear training?

Then… he must be lacking a proper weapon."

Her gaze sharpened ever so slightly.

"Very well. I'll prepare one for him."
