Chapter 8 - Celebi

Feebas's eyes were already closed, yet it suddenly felt a faint warmth coming from a scale beneath its chin.

What is that…?

It remembered the moment it first arrived at Oliver's home—

the beautifully ornate scale Oliver had personally placed on its body.

From Oliver's perspective, the Prism Scale on Feebas began to glow with a soft white light.

That glow spread rapidly, growing brighter and brighter, until Feebas's entire body was wrapped in a sacred radiance—

The light of evolution.

"You did it, Feebas!"

Oliver shouted in joy, but he didn't forget the true purpose of this journey.

He quickly raised his phone and recorded the entire evolution process from start to finish.

Within the evolving light, Feebas's flat body gradually elongated.

Long fins extended from both sides of its head, draping down like flowing hair.

The moment the evolution light appeared, Sceptile sensed that something was wrong.

But forming an Energy Ball took time.

By the moment it finally completed the attack and hurled it forward—

The evolution light had already faded.

In its place stood a cream-colored, serpentine Pokémon.

Red, hair-like fins cascaded down both sides of its head.

Its tail was covered in blue and pink scales marked with black patterns, and at the very end, four large blue scales spread out like a fan.

Feebas had finally evolved—

Into Milotic.

From the ugliest Pokémon

to one of the most beautiful—

a perfect transformation.

Facing the incoming Energy Ball, the four large scales on Milotic's tail snapped open.

A massive barrier of light unfolded, instantly enveloping both Milotic and Oliver.

Light Screen.

An exceptional defensive move—especially effective against energy-based attacks.

Boom!

A deafening explosion echoed through the forest.

When the dust settled, the Light Screen had vanished—

but it had perfectly blocked the Energy Ball.

Pokémon: Milotic

Level: Advanced – Mid

Potential: Gym Level

Abilities: Marvel Scale, Adaptability

Moves: Light Screen, Attract, Aqua Ring, Life Dew, Twister, Disarming Voice, Water Pulse

(From this point onward, only newly learned or commonly used moves will be listed.)

Evaluation:

Because it lived in filth and hardship for so long, Milotic retained the Adaptability Ability even after evolution.

Compared to ordinary Milotic, its potential is even greater.

"Excellent, Milotic!" Oliver clenched his fist.

"Now—it's time for our counterattack!"

"Life Dew to recover stamina, then Disarming Voice.

After that, Twister—aim at the left half of Sceptile's body.

Finish it with Dragon Breath!"

Milotic obeyed without hesitation.

From the very beginning, it had never doubted Oliver's commands—and evolution hadn't changed that.

A soft, entrancing melody filled the battlefield.

The damage was low, but Sceptile's mind wavered, its focus disrupted.

Then, a violent Twister surged forward.

Sceptile reacted on instinct, dodging left—

Only halfway through the motion did it realize something was wrong.

The Twister's path wasn't straight.

It curved in an S-shape, swinging back perfectly toward its position.

Sceptile struggled midair, forcibly twisting its body to the right—

And at that moment, Milotic's true killing move revealed itself.

From within the spinning Twister, a deep violet Dragon Breath shot out like lightning.

Old force exhausted. New force not yet formed.

This time—

Sceptile couldn't dodge.

BOOM!

Already heavily injured, drained by intense combat, and now taking a direct hit from an evolved Milotic's Dragon Breath—

Sceptile was blasted backward, smashing into a distant tree trunk.

By the time it slid down, it had already lost consciousness.

"Mi~"

Milotic turned around and gently pressed her head into Oliver's arms.

Oliver hugged her tightly, laughing in relief.

"Congratulations, Milotic. You finally untied the knot in your heart."

Her skin was cool to the touch—

smooth beyond words.

Oliver couldn't help but stroke her again and again.

Just as Trainer and Pokémon were celebrating—

A crisp, cheerful voice rang out beside Oliver's ear.

"Bi~ bi!"

Oliver and Milotic were both startled.

Another Pokémon had approached them silently—

and neither had noticed.

Oliver turned his head.

That familiar onion-shaped head.

Those unmistakable dark eye rings.

"…Celebi?!"

"Bi?"

Seeing that Oliver recognized it, Celebi happily spun in the air.

Milotic immediately stepped in front of Oliver, watching Celebi with vigilance.

Her instincts screamed danger.

The tiny, adorable Pokémon looked harmless—

yet a faint pressure radiated from it, quiet but overwhelming.

"Bi~ bi~ bi, bi!"

Seeing Oliver's confused expression, Celebi closed its eyes.

Emerald-green energy gathered around its body, then flowed toward Oliver, surrounding him completely before sinking into his body in the blink of an eye.

Milotic didn't even have time to stop it.

"Congratulations, Host. You have received the Blessing of the Forest Guardian, Celebi."

Celebi's blessing?

A childish voice—like that of a young girl—echoed softly.

"Can you understand what I'm saying now?"

Oliver looked at Celebi in shock.

"…You're the one talking?"

Celebi nodded enthusiastically.

"Yep!"

"I… can understand you?"

"That's right! I did that. A little blessing—no big deal!"

"…But why would you bless me?" Oliver asked cautiously.

"I saw the bond between you and that Pokémon," Celebi said seriously.

"It's amazing. Even in the world I came from, bonds like that were incredibly rare."

But Oliver remained wary.

There was no such thing as a free gift in this world.

Could an ancient Mythical Pokémon truly be so innocent?

"…You need my help with something, don't you?"

Celebi blinked in surprise.

"You figured it out already?"

"Ah… well, since you noticed—yes. I really do have something I want you to help me with."
