Silence.
A strange silence hung in the air—thick, oppressive, and hard to breathe through.
The Straw Hat Pirates lay scattered across the ground.
Some unconscious.
Some barely holding on.
Some staring blankly into space, their minds completely empty.
The battle was over.
And the outcome was cruel.
"This…" Usopp's voice was hoarse. "…This is the first time…"
"…we were completely defeated."
No one responded.
No one could refute it.
Nami sat on the ground, face pale. Her fingers trembled uncontrollably.
"…A kid…"
"…Did we really get wiped out…"
"…by a kid?"
Her voice shook—not in anger.
In humiliation.
Sanji leaned against the wall, body slowly sliding down.
"…This is ridiculous…"
"…No matter how you look at it…"
"…this shouldn't be possible."
Chopper hugged his knees tighter.
"I was so scared…"
"I couldn't even move…"
Robin lowered her eyes.
"…This isn't just a difference in strength."
"…It's like we weren't even standing on the same ground."
Zoro lay staring at the sky.
"…He didn't even use his full strength."
His voice was low—heavy.
"…If he wanted to…"
"…he could've killed us all."
The words were terrifying.
But true.
Luffy lay there silently.
His straw hat covered half his face.
He didn't speak.
Didn't move.
Didn't laugh.
This was the first time—
The first time the Straw Hat Pirates had been crushed this completely.
Not by strategy.
Not by numbers.
But by one person.
"…Captain…" Chopper looked toward him, voice small. "…Are we…"
"…too weak?"
Silence.
Then—
Luffy reached up and pulled the straw hat off his face.
His eyes were clear.
Deep.
"…Yeah," he said.
Everyone froze.
Luffy sat up slowly, wincing.
"…We're weak."
The words were simple.
And they hit everyone like a hammer.
Usopp swallowed hard.
"…You don't have to say it like that…"
Luffy clenched his fists.
"If we weren't weak…"
"…we wouldn't have lost like this."
He looked around at every crewmate on the ground.
"…I couldn't protect you."
"Nami—"
Nami's eyes widened.
Luffy shook his head.
"…It's my fault."
Sanji clenched his teeth.
"…No."
"…It's not just you."
Zoro turned his head slightly.
"…That guy…"
"…was a monster."
Robin nodded lightly.
"…Yes."
"…A true monster."
Silence returned.
But this time it wasn't empty.
It was heavy.
"…He said…" Luffy spoke again, voice quiet. "…He'd be waiting."
Everyone looked at him.
Luffy lowered his head.
"…I hate that."
"I hate it so much."
His fingers trembled.
"I don't want to be looked down on like that."
"Ever again."
Zoro's eyes sharpened.
Sanji raised his head.
Nami clenched her fists.
Chopper wiped his tears.
Usopp took a shaky breath.
Luffy pushed himself up.
His legs trembled—
But he stood.
"We'll get stronger," he said. "All of us."
"Strong enough…"
"…that next time—"
He raised his head.
His eyes burned.
"…we won't lose."
The despair was still there.
The pain was still there.
The gap hadn't vanished.
But something else had been born.
Resolve.
Robin smiled faintly.
"…Good."
"…Despair is proof you've seen reality."
Nami nodded.
"…Then we can only move forward."
Sanji cracked his neck.
"…Next time…"
"…I'll kick that brat into the sea."
Usopp forced a laugh.
"…Let's survive first."
Chopper nodded vigorously.
"…I'll train harder too!"
Zoro closed his eyes.
"…Swordsmanship…"
"…I still have a long way to go."
Luffy placed the straw hat back on his head.
"We got wiped out," he said.
"But we're still alive."
"That means…"
"…this story isn't over."
The Straw Hat Pirates were defeated.
Crushed.
Completely overwhelmed.
But—
They had not fallen.
Not yet.
And the shadow of that seven-year-old—
Had carved itself deeply into their hearts.
