Chapter 13 - Koby: Do I Have No Dignity Left?!

After turning it over in his mind, Garp finally settled on a new training plan.

Right away, he spoke to Raifeng again.

"First: now that you have Conqueror's Haki, Devil Forest training no longer suits you."

"Since that's the case, I'm giving you a second target."

Raifeng shifted his gaze away from his status panel.

Just as he suspected—only he could see it. Garp and the others couldn't see the system's virtual interface.

"Second target?"

Raifeng's curiosity—and anticipation—sparked.

"Conqueror's Haki is actually a shackle for you right now," Garp said slowly.

"With it, you'll subconsciously ignore many life-and-death dangers."

"And those dangers are exactly what force out your hidden potential and make you stronger."

"So…"

"From now on, I want you to forget you can use Conqueror's."

"No matter what happens—you are not allowed to use it."

"And your target… is Koby."

"Huh?!"

Koby froze. "Vice Admiral Garp, you mean—?"

"Don't interrupt."

Garp waved him off and continued speaking to Raifeng.

"Don't underestimate Koby. Your age gap is real."

"You're seven. He's sixteen."

"In strength, speed, stamina—across the board—you're far below him."

"So if you don't use Conqueror's…"

"Beating Koby is basically impossible right now. That's just reality."

Raifeng understood immediately.

So Koby was the next wall he needed to climb.

Raifeng turned and took a long look at the overly stiff, overly nervous Koby.

To be fair—

For a "weakling," Koby wasn't bad at all.

Especially after two weeks of Garp's hell training, Koby's strength was already approaching the threshold needed to learn the Six Powers.

In a straight fight—without Conqueror's—Raifeng didn't think he could win easily.

But he wasn't discouraged.

And he wasn't disappointed in himself either.

Because he'd only gotten the system… one day ago.

Having this level of strength already was more than satisfying.

Greed only leads to swallowing an elephant.

Raifeng's mentality was steady.

"With a system, surpassing Koby isn't hard at all."

"Old man… you're about to misjudge me again."

"You think Conqueror's is all I've got?"

"If you really believe that…"

"Tomorrow, you're going to be shocked."

Raifeng was already looking forward to it.

Once he got his second daily sign-in tomorrow—

And pulled a second ability pack—

Garp's expression would be priceless.

Conqueror's?

Old man, you think that's my only trick?

You're underestimating me way too much.

I'm running a cheat.

You can't judge me by normal standards.

"One day, I mastered Conqueror's."

"So two days to beat Koby… that's not excessive, right?"

Raifeng kept those words to himself.

Saying them out loud might be a little too brutal for Koby.

Better to let him keep some confidence.

That way things wouldn't get boring.

Meanwhile—

Koby rolled his eyes internally.

Vice Admiral Garp, do I have no dignity at all?!

You're just assuming I'm going to lose?

Sure, Raifeng's talent is terrifying. And sure, he has Conqueror's Haki.

But if Conqueror's is forbidden…

Then in a pure one-on-one fight, with my two weeks of training?

Beating Raifeng shouldn't be hard at all.

Ten days?

Even if you gave him a full month, he might not surpass me.

Koby was full of confidence.

Yes, his talent couldn't compare to Raifeng's.

But the age advantage alone was massive.

Ten days or a month—either way, Koby didn't believe a seven-year-old could casually catch up and surpass him in raw physical combat.

Then Garp added one more thing:

"That's it for Devil Forest training. Go get yourselves ready."

"We're leaving Foosha Village soon."

"Leaving?"

Koby and Helmeppo blinked, caught off guard.

Only Raifeng had a rough guess.

Foosha Village had always been a temporary stop for Garp.

So it was finally time.

Time to go there.

Raifeng's eyes flickered as he looked toward the distant blue sky.

Compared to Foosha Village…

That place would be far more interesting.

"Where are we going?" Koby asked quickly.

Garp grinned.

"Where else? Back to Marine Headquarters—Marineford."

"I've been away too long. Sengoku's probably nagging himself sick by now."

And with that, Garp left them with his final words.
