Chapter 69 - Coastline Battle End

Coastline, Jubilife City's Northern Suburbs.

Zenith had already calculated all possible escape routes for Hunter D. It feigned an attempt to destroy Hunter D's armor launcher, but it was actually a diversion.

Zenith had accurately determined that controlling shattered rocks with Confusion would not be enough to destroy his launcher.

"Kangaskhan, Drapion, cover the rear!"

Hunter D was decisive, already planning to run back to his underwater submarine and escape in it.

"Agni, Drakloak, stop them."

At the same time, Ryu, who had gone to rescue Shaymin, returned.

"Cario!"

"Shaymin!"

With Ryu present, Austin felt even more confident. "Ryu, Aura Sphere!"

The Drapion and Kangaskhan covering the rear were hit by multiple moves, losing their ability to battle in an explosion.

Zenith continuously blocked Hunter D's escape routes with shattered rocks.

"Metaa!"

(Now!)

Hunter D was too busy dodging Zenith's rocks to even notice Dragapult's presence.

Dragapult, which had been floating in mid-air, suddenly vanished.

Using Phantom Force, Dragapult appeared next to Hunter D in the blink of an eye.

Phantom Force successfully destroyed Hunter D's armor launcher, and Dragapult's tail glowed green again.

Dragon Tail

The sound of Dragon Tail tearing through the air, echoed by the sea, and Hunter D, who was about to run back to his submarine, flew backward in pain.

Hunter D rolled and tumbled across the ground before coming to a slow stop–unmoving.

Austin Pokégear rang, and at the same time, siren sounds from both sides gradually approached. The police had arrived.

"It's me, by the coast. Did you see Dragapult?"

"We saw it!"

"Come with Dragapult. The Pokémon Hunter has been captured. Please come and take him away."

The officer wearing a Bluetooth earpiece was stunned.

"Huh?!"

This time, Austin's report was taken very seriously by the police, with both Floaroma Town and Jubilife City police stations dispatching officers.

Arcanine, Pidgeot, Staraptor... even Blastoise appeared, showing how seriously the police station took it.

Before the officer and the others arrived, Austin had Zenith and the others watch over the Pokémon Hunter.

Meanwhile, he began to treat Shaymin's injuries.

[Name]: Shaymin (Land Forme)

[Type]: Grass

[Ability]: Natural Cure (When returned to the party, abnormal statuses will heal naturally.)

[Moves]: Synthesis, Magical Leaf...

[Strength Rating]: Silver (Initial)

[Status]: Severely injured (Exhausted, burnt on the right side of the body, abrasion on the right lower leg...)

The effect of Identification Eye (Intermediate) began to show.

"So severely injured."

Austin took out a bottle of Moomoo Milk from his backpack, inserted a straw, and said, "Drink this first. It restores stamina."

"Shaymin~"

Shaymin, in Ryu's arms, drank the Moomoo Milk in small sips.

"Here, have a few Oran Berry Cubes too."

One bottle of Moomoo Milk and a few perfect-quality Oran Berry Cubes solved the problem of exhaustion.

"Shaymin!"

Shaymin's tone was much more spirited.

Austin then took out a bottle of Burn Heal Spray.

"Here, it might be a bit cool. Bear with it."

"Shaymin~"

(I... I can endure it!)

Shaymin closed its eyes, its brows slightly furrowed.

(It's okay.)

Ryu gently stroked Shaymin's back.

Finally, Austin Black bandaged Shaymin's hind leg.

"What happened? The boat is so damaged?"

"This one is severely injured."

The Hunter, who had been hit head-on by Ryu's Bone Rush, had a completely broken nose and barely any teeth left.

"Shiny Metagross, Lucario..."

"Oh no, that looks like Austin Black!"

"Is he alright?!"

"He's bandaging Shaymin, so he should be fine."

The officers, who had briefly panicked, quietly let out sighs of relief. Austin, meanwhile, remained focused on treating Shaymin and did not notice them.

All eight Pokémon Hunters were placed under arrest. Since the coastline fell under Jubilife City's jurisdiction, the prisoners were transferred to the custody of the Jubilife City Police Department.

The Floaroma Town police would assist with the escort. The officers from both departments remained behind temporarily, though Austin could not tell them apart at all.

They were equally beautiful, equally young, equally tall, and both had the same curly green hair. The reason was simple.

Most of them were cousins.

They also had a similar story to that of the original Joy. The reason being they were sisters.

Jenny was the younger sister of the original Joy.

Joy was gentle in spirit. She was drawn to those who were hurt, whether human or Pokémon. She learned how to treat wounds with herbs, how to calm fever with clean water, and how to soothe frightened Pokémon with steady care. Wherever she went, people said suffering became easier to bear.

Jenny was different. She could not ignore danger. When she saw bandits attacking travelers or wild Pokémon threatening villages, she stepped forward without hesitation. She learned how to track threats, how to protect settlements, and how to bring order where chaos had taken hold.

Together, they traveled across the land.

When they arrived at a village in need, Joy would stay behind to heal the injured and comfort the fearful. Jenny would leave to face whatever danger had caused the harm, ensuring it did not return.

People began to tell their story.

They said two sisters never stayed in one place for long. One brought relief after pain. The other ensured the pain would not come again.

As time passed, their paths began to spread farther apart. Joy's work gathered those who wished to heal. Jenny's work gathered those who wished to protect. Each sister became the center of a growing circle of followers.

Before they parted ways completely, the sisters made a promise.

Where there is suffering, there will be care. Where there is danger, there will be protection.

Over time, villages became towns, and towns became cities. The followers of Joy built places of rest and recovery. The followers of Jenny formed structured groups to keep the peace.

Yet the old bond between the sisters never faded.

Even in distant cities, a Nurse Joy would send word to the local Officer Jenny when danger crossed her doors. An Officer Jenny would bring the injured back to Nurse Joy without delay.

And people would still say:

When one sister cannot reach you, the other will.

And as for the family genetics being absurdly strong.

Over time, a hypothesis formed among researchers and folklore historians.

It suggested that both figures may have received a blessing from Legendaries connected to the world's earliest concepts of life and order.

Not confirmed in any official record, but supported by the consistency of their symbolic roles across regions. Because of that, their appearances became universally recognized across cultures.

Joy meant healing was present.

Jenny meant protection was present.

That recognition eventually shaped tradition.

As the Joy and Jenny Orders expanded, not all members matched the original appearance naturally. Even with blessings from Legendaries, genetic variation meant differences would appear over generations. Some individuals developed darker or lighter hair or features that did not align with the traditional image associated with the founders.

To preserve the symbolic identity, a standard practice was introduced.

Hair dye and appearance alignment became part of the initiation.

Pink for Joy.

Uniform dark tones and styled presentation for Jenny.

Not as a cosmetic preference, but as respect for the original figures and what they represented.

Even those who were not born into either lineage but chose to join the clans were required to adopt the appearance standard upon acceptance.

It was a visible oath.

A way to ensure that anyone who saw them would immediately understand what they stood for.

Austin watched as one of the Jennys finished securing the final transport seal.

Agni remained alert but calm.

Ryu observed the coastline in silence.

"Thank you for your assistance, Mr. Black."

Austin Black blinked.

"You know me?"

The officer from Jubilife City maintained a professional expression.

"Chief Zorro mentioned you. Because of Arcanine."

The Floaroma Town officer grinned.

"I've even seen you on PokéStream!"

"I see."

What Austin did not know was that after he took Arcanine in, his photo had already circulated through police stations across the Sinnoh region.

Chief Zorro of the Jubilife City Police Headquarters had personally issued instructions that Austin Black's safety was a priority.

As the head of Jubilife City's police force, his influence extended throughout much of the region.

"Excuse me, what Pokémon is this...?"

The Jubilife City officer looked curiously at the Pokémon resting in Ryu's arms.

The Floaroma Town officer immediately answered.

"Shaymin."

"You know it?"

The officer gently reached out and stroked Shaymin's head.

"I've seen it in the flower fields around Floaroma Town."

"Shaymin!"

Shaymin clearly recognized her as well.

"Are your injuries alright?"

"Min~"

"That's good."

After confirming Shaymin's condition was stable, a new problem arose.

"What should we do with Shaymin now?" the Jubilife City officer asked.

The Floaroma Town officer thought for a moment.

"How about I bring it back to the flower fields in Floaroma Town?"

"RIo."

(It's still injured.)

Austin looked at Shaymin resting quietly in Ryu's arms.

"I'd like to take it back temporarily for treatment. We can discuss its future once it has recovered."

Shaymin's strength was simply too low to protect itself. Otherwise, it would never have been chased all the way here by Pokémon Hunters.

The officer from Jubilife City nodded.

"That's acceptable. Besides, you already have a Pokémon Center in your breeding house."

If anyone else had made such a request, neither officer would likely have agreed.

But Austin was different.

Chief Zorro had specifically instructed them to look after him.

He had helped treat police Pokémon, including Arcanine. He had also cared for Cynthia's Garchomp. No matter how they looked at it, Austin Black was the most suitable candidate.

The officer nodded again.

"Then we'll leave Shaymin in your care. I'll drive you back."

"Thank you, everyone."

"I'm coming too!"

The Jubilife City officer glanced at her cousin.

The Floaroma Town officer shrugged.

"Everyone else is heading back to the station anyway. Shaymin still needs protection."

"Nine!"

Agni immediately voiced his agreement.

The Jubilife City officer sighed and rubbed her forehead.

"I really can't win against you two."

Thus, with Shaymin safely in Ryu's arms, Austin Black began the journey home.

As the police vehicle drove away from the coastline, a familiar system notification suddenly appeared before his eyes.
