Lin Chen didn't even get time to change clothes.
A nurse rushed over, her attitude completely different from before.
"Doctor Lin… the hospital director wants to see you."
Dr. Wang stiffened.
"The director?"
The office door closed behind Lin Chen.
Director Liu Ming, a man in his fifties, stared at him intently.
"Lin Chen."
"How long have you been hiding your skills?"
Lin Chen answered truthfully.
"Today was the first time I used them."
Director Liu laughed bitterly.
"You think I'm a fool?"
He stood up and bowed slightly.
"That technique you used—"
"It's lost."
"Even experts from the capital can't perform it."
Lin Chen said nothing.
Director Liu took a deep breath.
"From today on, you are no longer an intern."
"You're officially a resident physician."
"And…"
He paused.
"I want you in my special treatment group."
Outside the office, whispers exploded.
"He got promoted?"
"That fast?"
Dr. Wang clenched his fists so hard his nails dug into his palm.
Impossible.
This should have been his future.
Lin Chen walked past him calmly.
Dr. Wang suddenly spoke in a low voice.
"Don't get too proud."
"You'll fall."
Lin Chen stopped.
Then smiled faintly.
"I've already fallen once."
"This time—"
"I'm standing above you."
