Chapter 1 - One

Just days after giving birth to my lycan son, here I am, all pretty and dressed for the annual party, exclusive to the Lycan Elites, and I am here, to be finally introduced as the wife of the Windham's, sole heir, Silvestre Windham.

We've been together for 10 years now, yet it's the first he actually introduced me as his 'wife' properly...

I mean, I do get his point that Lycan's had a reputation to keep, so he had to keep me away until I finally give birth to his heir, and now that I had actually give birth to one, I was so sure that he'd keep his promise.

So, I had spend the night, just following him around, letting him introduce me as his wife to each and everyone, until a person comes in and suddenly changed the aura of the who party.

Silvestre and the other males started to growl under their breathes, their eyes wild, and are fixated on the main door, as if anticipating someone to make an entrance.

Then, as if on cue, the big wooden door opened and came in two people, both familiar to me...

"Dean... Astrid..." I mumbled under my breathe, as I glanced at them from afar.

Then, came Silvestre grabbing my wrist painfully. "We're going." He muttered rash and quietly, his eyes were dark with something.

But as his grip is actually a tight and painful, it made me complain to him. "Sil, you're hurting me!" I said, in what I thought in a quiet voice, but is actually loud enough to make everyone to look at us, including the newly arrived couple.

"Dia?" Dean muttered my name carefully, his brows raised as it took the sight of me, as if confirming it was really me, before its eyes landed on Silvestre's hand on me.

Meanwhile, Astrid's eyes remained focused on Silvestre's face, her hand clutched tight on the tummy part of her evening gown, its expression filled with dread.

Then, as his eyes met Astrid's,Silvestre growled, his hand tightening on my wrist even further. "Now, Dia, now!" He scowled, roughly dragging me out of the hall, only to be held by another hand.

"Silvestre Windham." Dean muttered his name with authority then commanded. "Let go. You're hurting her."

But instead of obliging, Silvestre glared at him. "You let go! She's my wife, and I can do what ever I deemed to!" He replied with uttered stubborness.

Then, Dean looked at me as if confirming Silvestre's claim, so I nod, but he didn't let my hand go, instead he yanked me towards him, making Silvestre's grip on me loosen, enough to let go, and whispered to my ear. "You're still so gullible and naive, Dia. To chose him as your husband, after I dumped you."

There, I looked up and glared at him. "And what is it to you if I did? We're long gone, Dean, and you, you guys look doing great to be still together." I replied with sass, silently eyeing the still angry Astrid from the background.

Dean then scoffed as he followed my gaze to Astrid, and once again whispered. "See her face? that's the face of a cheating bitch, and she was looking at your husband because, she's pregnant with him."

I gasped at the sudden revelation, making me pull off him with wide eyes. "S-she... He... They what?!" I asked, my voice quivering as I fall into my knees, obviously crying.

Dean's eyes went wild as he took the sight of me, probably because he seen this sight of me before...

Me being all hurt and completely vulnerable, just like when he choose to dump me back then, to be with Astrid...

But this time, it wasn't for him, but for my cheating husband...

And once again, all because of Astrid...

Still crying, I looked up, looking to both men. "I-Is she that good enough for me to be betrayed twice in a row?" I asked them, my voice now laced with pain and insecurity.

"And you... I believed you when you told me that you can't introduce me as your wife yet, not until I give birth to an heir of yours... I was so happy because after 10 years of secret maariage, you finally called me as your wife! and now, this?! come on! just what did I do to deserve all this hurt! this betrayal!" I screamed crying to Silvestre, still down on my knees.

But what I get was a loud slap, not from Silvestre nor Dean, but from Astrid. "It's you who's the problem! If it wasn't for you who got pregnant first, then he would still choose me!" She yelled to my face, yanking my hair up and down with her female lycan brute force.

"Astrid stop! she's just a human!" Silvestre tried to stop her before she could hurt me further.

But even he did, Astrid didn't stop, instead she dragged my face to the floor, earning a shocked gasp from everyone on that hall.

"ASTRID, DON'T YOU DARE! LET GO, NOW!" Dean commanded, his voice frightening deep and low, making every Lycan in that room cower.

"But... but she hurt me, Dean! Are you really letting your own woman go on shame because of a mere human?!" Astrid complained, obviously daring Dean to choose over us.

But Dean glared at her, and pulled me back up, steadying me as he eyed her and Silvestre. "Hurt you? can you even hear yourself now, Astrid? Do you think I and everyone here are deaf and blind not to count your words and actions?" He said, his voice still laced with dominance.

But Astrid didn't dropped her act, now attacking him with her manipulations. "Really now, Dean?! You're actually choosing her too? After being with for all these years?"

Then, Silvestre came joining her accusations, as if pinning all the blame to Dean. "Everyone, is this really how should be a Lycan King treating his woman? To choose a married mere human, over an actual Luna?"

But their words actually backfired when Dean spoke. "You two have no credibility to question me after openly admitting your affair. Especially not when you hurt someone before me and everyone else. You two are disappointment to us Lycans!"

Dean's words echoed into the whole hall, and with a single a snap of his fingers, guards came rushing in, capturing both Silvestre and Astrid.

Of course, both of them went defensive, instantly denying everything, when everyone in that room witnessed it all, and before I knew it, they were both dragged out and Dean stood there, before me, eyeing everyone on that room.

"I'm sorry to spoil the party with all of that chaos, but feel free to continue and enjoy the party as you must, I got to leave and deal with something else." He told them, before he scooped me off my feet and carried me out of that building, then to a car.

"To the Windham's Manor." He said gruffly to the driver, as he sat me at the backseat, before sitting beside me.

The driver then nod, and he goes pressing a button, closing the gap between the driver's view of the back seat.

The ride was quiet and smooth, and without me noticing, I was already staring at him, admiring his tan-skin, long black hair, and his grey speaking eyes.

Then, I muttered "Why? why did you that?" I asked, my voice quiet and soft, all shaky from too much crying.

"Do I really need one, Dia? Isn't that them cheating on us is enough already!" He groaned, running his fingers on his hair, his eyes avoiding mine.

But ever the kind one, I replied. "But, Astrid is still your current mate, and she's pregnant. Don't you think putting her in a prison would harm her and/ or the baby?"

There, he groaned harder. "Damnit, Dia! You're making me lose my mind! I did it for you, okay?! For you and your child! He doesn't deserve a cheating father! Nor you deserve to shamed like that!" He scowled his grey eyes boring into my soul.

Genuinely thankful for his honesty, I then reached for his cheeks and muttered. "Thank you, but you don't have to go that far."

He then blushed at the gesture, but immediately wiped it into a frown. "How was that far? I just taught them a lesson!" He stated, unbothered.

Then, as I was to explain my point, there was a knock on the closed window gap. "We're entering the manor now, Alpha." The driver said, interupting the conversation.

So he give it a nod, and faced me back again. "We're not yet done talking, Dia. Once inside, just grab the child his things and get back here." He ordered firmly, no space for arguments.

But somehow, I just found myself obliging, not to his words but the intention he had made me believed before it.

So after some time, I went out off that mansion, with one arm carrying my son, and the other one is for its things, and as soon as I am settled, he went grabbing the baby off my arms, and held it with carefulness.

"Good thing he looks like you, it would be hard if he ended up looking like that bastard." Dean spoke with a smug grin.

"Hm? what would be hard?" I asked, utterly clueless of the context of that comment.
