"Damn, zombies evolve so fast? Do humans even stand a chance?"
Lux was speechless. He thought he could lead the tactical dolls to improve life quickly.
If they didn't hunt mutated zombies in each area soon, they could be wiped out unexpectedly.
Without Lianne's analysis, he might not even have realized it. While he planned to hunt mutated zombies for resource points, now it was imperative to quickly eliminate all mutated zombies.
"Don't worry too much. With our team—M99's heavy firepower and AA-12's shotgun—it shouldn't be too hard to deal with mutated zombies, right?"
Lianne asked.
"That Head-Splitter was fast. Even HK and MDR's bullets weren't fatal. I got lucky cutting its legs and immobilizing it before killing it."
"Any slip-up and we'd all be dead."
"If a centipede zombie evolves into a mid-level form with unknown weak points, I'd be dead even with M99's sniping. If it's aware, it could dodge or escape. Head-Splitters move as fast as I can sprint, making a one-hit kill tricky. Hunting mutated zombies is very dangerous."
Lux sighed.
"Hmm… they ignore ordinary injuries so quickly. Definitely troublesome…"
Lianne pondered, then looked up.
"I have three suggestions. First, you use your spatial abilities to collect resources and retreat to the mountains. Survive as long as possible, but if animals get infected and mutate, they could be worse than humans."
"Second, we seek military assistance to use heavy firepower against these mutated zombies."
"My weapons can't be explained rationally, so we can't contact the military. At least until my strength deters them, I can't risk it."
Lux shook his head. Most of their weapons are foreign-made. The military could suspect them of being a bioweapon unit and attack, so this is out.
"Ah, it doesn't matter. Even if we went, they might not trust my judgment as a minor. Sending heavy firepower is unlikely."
Lianne shrugged.
"And the third suggestion?"
"Gather survivors. Once we have enough, get a train and stock it with supplies. Travel to sparsely populated countries—Canada, Australia, or Taiwan."
"At least on the tracks, we're safe. No zombie can stop a moving train. Lower population density means fewer mutations to higher forms. It should be safer, though this is only my hypothesis."
"Actually, we shouldn't worry too much. The notebook shows that fewer than three thousand zombies aren't enough to produce higher-level mutated zombies."
"So in the short term, higher-level mutated zombies won't appear."
Lianne smiled.
"Geez, why are you telling us this now? To scare us?" MDR exhaled in relief but grumbled
"I'm just saying everything I've analyzed. These are problems we'll face eventually. Better to figure out how to handle them now than wait until it's life or death."
Lianne shrugged innocently.
At that moment, Lux realized he had found a treasure. Just from two pages of notes, she had analyzed so much. If he provided her with more intel, she might uncover even more useful insights.
"Brother Lux, what's your plan?" Lianne asked.
"First, we gather supplies while eliminating any mutated zombies we encounter. With M99's sniping support, it should be much easier.
"I also need to go to the mine to acquire a large amount of ore. That will greatly enhance our combat power. Keep an eye on related information."
Lux replied. He didn't trust that those mutated zombies could survive a direct hit from a 130mm naval gun.
With enough resource points, he could summon an aircraft carrier, even form an air squadron. Then he wouldn't have to risk approaching them.
"Build a survivor base in the mining area… that's not impossible. The groundwater there is usually unsuitable for drinking, but with specialized reverse osmosis technology, we might get clean tap water.
"However, if luck isn't on our side, water supply could be a problem.
"If zombies enter rivers, the water gets contaminated, possibly causing outbreaks within the base."
Lianne frowned in thought.
"Can't we boil it?" Candice asked curiously.
"We don't know the virus's properties… My guess is high temperatures won't destroy it. If we could get reports from a disease control center… no, the infection spreads too fast. They might be infected before they can even study it.
"Normal disease transmission scales wouldn't be able to keep up."
Lianne pursed her lips in deep thought.
Seeing her immersed in analysis, Lux didn't disturb her. Deduction and reasoning took time.
"45, let's find a suitable place to rest for the night. That's it for today."
After all, he was just wearing the commander's hat. When it came to finding a safe place to rest, he couldn't compete with the elites like UMP45.
