Chapter 4 - Chakra

Taro's eyes widened. "Holy shit…"

The possibilities Minecraft offered were endless—from unlimited resources to a near-infinite new world.

His mind raced as he thought through everything. "There are so many ores I could sell… or food I could farm infinitely. This could easily fix the food problem we're having right now."

As he beamed with excitement, he realized he still had three cards left to view: one silver and two bronze.

"It doesn't matter if I get trash cards. I'm already satisfied with Minecraft alone."

Without hesitation, Taro opened the two bronze cards.

[Bronze Card: Slight Increase in Chakra

Description: Slightly increases the user's chakra.]

"Not bad," Taro murmured.

[Bronze Card: Inventory

Description: The user gains the ability to store an infinite number of items in a personal space. Time does not apply within this storage.]

Taro raised an eyebrow. "This is a bronze card? Now I'm wondering how much my chakra increased if this is how good a bronze card is."

He immediately used both cards on himself. Instantly, a cooling sensation spread throughout his body.

"I don't really know how much chakra I've gained…" Taro sighed. "I need to learn how to control chakra soon."

After that, he tested the storage card.

He picked up a book from a nearby table and imagined placing it into his inventory. In an instant, the book disappeared, and a new prompt appeared before him.

[Inventory: Items (1)

Book: A book that tells the story of the Sage of the Six Paths.]

"That's cool…"

Taro closed the inventory and opened the final card—the silver one.

[Silver Card: Eye Spy

Description: The user can view other people's stats.]

Taro smiled. "That's a useful one…"

He eagerly used the skill on himself.

Taro smiled bitterly. "Wow, this looks pathetic. I know I'm only five, but damn."

Before he could continue, a sharp knock cut him off.

"It's me."

The familiar voice of Mashiro froze Taro in place.

"Come in," Taro replied.

The door creaked open, and a man entered with a child behind him. The man stood tall, while the child limped slightly, his body covered in bruises.

"From my memories, that kid is my second older brother, Nao," Taro thought.

Nao had light brown skin, droopy eyes, and fiery red pupils. He was around fourteen years old—a fourteen-year-old who had already seen countless battles.

Nao glared at Taro. "This fucking brat… I knew I shouldn't have shown you that ninjutsu."

Seeing the glare, Taro sighed. "He's been in so many battles, yet he's still just a child."

Mashiro sighed and spoke, breaking the tension. "Son, do you really want to become a shinobi?"

Taro looked confused. "I only asked to learn ninjutsu, Dad."

Nao scoffed. "Once you unlock your chakra, there's no turning back. Why would the clan waste someone who can use chakra?"

Mashiro nodded. "That's right. Your eldest brother unlocked his chakra at four. He trained until six, then went to war at seven. So let me ask you again—"

"Yes," Taro interrupted. "I'll become a shinobi."

Mashiro sighed. "Come with us. We'll unlock your chakra pathways tonight. Tomorrow morning, come to my office and we'll begin your training."

Taro nodded and followed the two outside.

Minutes later, they stood in an open field. The breeze was freezing, a sharp contrast to earlier.

"Sit," Mashiro ordered.

Taro sat cross-legged on the ground. Mashiro placed a hand on his back and gently pushed chakra into his body.

Within seconds, a burst of blue chakra erupted from Taro.

He gasped for air as his body stiffened.

"Taro!" Nao yelled. "I told you, old geezer, this method is too much! We could've used the safer one!"

Nao glared at Mashiro, but Mashiro was focused on something else.

"This chakra… he has this much at his age?" Mashiro thought.

The Hosai clan wasn't known for large chakra reserves. If anything, they were below average compared to other clans.

"He had more chakra than I did at his age."

Mashiro smiled and lifted Taro up. "You! You'll be an excellent shinobi!"

Nao wasn't amused. He kicked his father's leg. "Put him down, you senile old man!"
