Chapter 7 - 'No'{7}

🌳 Scene 1: Zane Focuses

Zane closes his eyes.

Hands hover over his weapon. His mind stretches outward, pushing past reality, piercing the invisible walls between realms.

Zane – I… I can feel it.

A tingle, deep in his skull, grows into a roar of images.

🌿 Scene 2: Into the Garden's Mind

Zane sees through the roots, through soil, through dimensions.

The Garden stretches like a living organism, veins crawling across land, sea, and sky.

Within the veins, Monster Symbiotes writhe—small, contained wombs pulsing with potential energy, waiting.

Zane – …It's harvesting them.

He reels back, stunned.

D'Angelo – Harvesting what?

Zane – Not crops… not food… monsters. It's collecting them. Feeding. Growing.

👹 Scene 3: The Symbiote Harvest

He sees tiny forms being pulled into the roots—animals, humans, even stray monsters.

Each womb merges with the Garden's energy, growing larger, stronger.

Chains of light shimmer as the Garden "tastes" each symbiote's power.

Zane – The Garden isn't just alive… it's learning. Evolving.

D'Angelo – That… explains the chaos we've been facing.

Zane – And it's far worse than we thought.

🌫️ Scene 4: The Garden Watches

Zane feels something watching him.

The roots tremble.

Branches shift like fingers, pointing at him, probing, curious, almost sentient.

Zane – It knows I see it.

D'Angelo's hand tightens on his weapon.

D'Angelo – Then it's hunting us too.

The wind howls through broken trees, whispering unintelligible words.

🌊 Scene 5: Monkey and Hyde Regroup

On a floating piece of wreckage, Monkey and Hyde catch their breath.

Monkey – You feel that?

Hyde – The Garden… it's moving. And it's not subtle.

Monkey – We thought the ocean kept it contained. We were wrong.

Hyde – Then we need a plan. Fast.

🧟 Scene 6: Zombies Stir

Luke and Hanabi, still scavenging ruins, see corpses twitching unnaturally.

The zombies' eyes glow faintly green.

Luke – …The Garden's doing this.

Hanabi – Turning them… into more energy for itself?

The corpses lurch toward them, faster, smarter.

Luke – Run.

⚡ Scene 7: Elazer's Warning

Elazer levitates above a cliff, watching Zane and D'Angelo.

Elazer – The Garden is not passive. It learns. It selects.

Zane flinches.

Zane – Selects?

Elazer – It harvests the strong, discards the weak. It grows with every symbiote it consumes.

D'Angelo – …So we're on the menu.

Elazer nods slowly.

Elazer – Only the telepath sees it clearly. But soon… everyone will.

🌌 Scene 8: Nefima Moves

Nefima floats across a valley.

She senses Zane's intrusion into the Garden's mind.

Nefima – Clever child. You can see, but you cannot stop it.

She waves her staff. Bones rattle across the ground.

Nefima – Soon… all will kneel before the Undead Goddess.

🌑 Scene 9: Purgatory – Ashton and Hyde Discuss Escape

Hyde leans on Ashton, exhausted.

Hyde – Zane's vision… it changes things.

Ashton – The Garden doesn't care about us. It only wants energy, life… death.

Hyde – Then our escape isn't just about getting out. We have to stop it—or it'll swallow everything.

Ashton nods grimly.

Ashton – Then we plan. Step one: survive this place. Step two: fight back.

🦑 Scene 10: Pirate Ship Chaos

Nkumkani and Monkey regroup after the merman attack.

The ship creaks. Water sloshes.

Nkumkani – Every corner has something worse.

Monkey stares at the open ocean.

Monkey – …And apparently, the Garden sends fish monsters as welcome gifts.

Nkumkani – Don't joke. Focus.

A shadow moves beneath the waves. Something enormous, unseen, circling.

🔥 Scene 11: Dreadmoore and Alastor Continue Battle

Dreadmoore and Alastor clash again.

Alastor laughs, using Technique – Vitality Shot to strike Dreadmoore hard.

Shatterhowl floats nearby, cracking jokes even as he dodges attacks:

Shatterhowl – You call that a punch? My grandma hits harder, and she's dead!

Dreadmoore growls, teeth clenched.

Dreadmoore – Shut up, or I'll make you part of the scenery.

The fight rages on—energy clashing, stone cracking, sky trembling.

🕯️ Scene 12: Sasha, Jason, Trish in the Ruins

Sasha holds Trish tight.

Trish – I wish none of this started.

Jason gazes at the horizon.

Jason – We can't change the past… but we can survive the future.

Trish shakes her head.

Trish – Surviving isn't enough. I want to fix it.

Sasha sighs.

Sasha – Then we start by finding the others.

🌑 Scene 13: Zane Feels the Garden's Hunger

Zane shivers as visions flash:

Symbiotes drawn into roots, monsters screaming as they are consumed, faint silhouettes of friends and allies pulled along.

Zane – …It's everywhere.

D'Angelo – Then we're running out of time.

🐺 Scene 14: Peter and Roxy

Elsewhere, Peter and Roxy encounter creatures transformed by the Garden.

Peter – It's feeding them… making them stronger.

Roxy – Then we make them weaker. We fight.

They prepare for battle.

🌌 Scene 15: The Garden Responds

Roots curl through the soil beneath cities, oceans, forests.

Ancient Voice – All life is mine to take. All power is mine to grow.

Branches reach outward, cracking stone and steel alike.

🏚️ Scene 16: Nkumkani and Monkey Decide

Monkey wipes water from his face, exhausted.

Monkey – We can't just survive… we have to strike first.

Nkumkani nods.

Nkumkani – Step one… find everyone. Step two… hit the Garden where it hurts.

The ocean churns as something massive rises beneath them.

⚡ Scene 17: Closing Narration

Narrator –

The Garden is awake.

Monster symbiotes are harvested.

Heroes are scattered. Enemies are relentless.

And every choice, every move… is already seen by roots that reach everywhere.

The storm grows.

Survival is no longer enough.
