Chapter 165 - The Dragon! The Storm!

"That blonde girl is probably a traveler. Looks like Mondstadt has another visitor from abroad." Noelle chuckled softly as she spoke, her hand quietly linking through Bonanus's arm.

Bonanus noticed but didn't mind. Sisters being close was perfectly normal.

"And that little fairy on her shoulder is so tiny and cute. I've never seen a mascot like that before." Noelle continued.

"I have a feeling that blonde girl is going to become someone important in Mondstadt. You might even have to learn a thing or two from her someday." Bonanus said casually.

"Really? Then I'm looking forward to it." Noelle nodded. She trusted Sister Fashui's judgment completely.

If her sister said so, then that blonde girl must be someone strong.

"So am I." Bonanus smiled.

"As for that floating fairy... she's probably a glutton. The type that eats way too much." Bonanus chuckled.

The fairy they were talking about was Paimon. In the game, she had many titles: mascot, emergency food, the Traveler's guide, best companion, nickname giver, Paimon the Mouthpiece, and so on.

Quite a lot, actually. Too many to list.

"Huh? Sister, you shouldn't judge someone by their appearance!" Noelle said seriously, thinking her sister had judged the fairy based on looks alone.

"Haha, we'll find out if she is or not." Bonanus licked her dry lips, resting her chin on her hand as she observed the two figures on the bridge.

Her gaze was so intense that it caught Lumine's attention. She noticed two girls watching her from the city wall.

Though the girl in blue was trying to hide herself, Lumine still spotted her.

Lumine found it a little strange. The silver-haired girl looked at her with curiosity and unfamiliarity.

But the blue-haired girl with the decorations on her head... her gaze seemed to recognize her. Like she knew her personally.

That was odd. She had never seen that girl before.

Could she know her brother?

A short while later...

Bonanus and Noelle stayed on the wall, quietly watching the pair below.

After a brief exchange with the knights at the gate, Amber led Lumine and Paimon into the city.

"Sister, aren't you going to say hello? I think we could get to know them." Noelle rubbed her cheeks softly.

"No need. There will be other chances. No rush. We might even meet them today." Bonanus shook her head. She would meet the people she was meant to meet when the time came.

"Besides, instead of greeting them, we should focus on the danger that's coming." Bonanus said calmly. The protagonist's arrival meant Stormterror was about to attack Mondstadt.

"You're right. I have a bad feeling about this. My chest feels a little tight for some reason."

Noelle's expression turned serious again. She was always sensitive to approaching danger.

She frowned slightly and glanced uneasily toward the city. She hoped Mondstadt's buildings were sturdy enough to protect the people inside.

"It's almost here..." Bonanus muttered. Once the protagonist got her wind glider, the storm would begin.

Seeing her sister's serious expression, Noelle swallowed the question she was about to ask. Sister's expression was different from before.

She tightened her grip on her broom. This time, she hadn't brought her greatsword.

But having a Vision didn't mean she had to hold a weapon to fight. The greatsword wasn't her only weapon. She had the power of Geo.

Several more minutes passed.

Roar! Roar! Roar!

With each deafening dragon roar, the sky over Mondstadt grew darker. Lightning flashed intermittently.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The howling wind was deafening, drowning out even the dragon's roars. It battered the roofs of Mondstadt and clattered against the knights' armor.

Suddenly, tornadoes tore through the dark clouds and descended upon the city, striking the streets, the cathedral, and even the statue of the Anemo Archon.

The tornadoes mercilessly swept away everything in their path. Merchants' goods, flowers, and trees planted in the city were all ripped away.

Thanks to the Acting Grand Master's orders to keep the citizens inside, the casualties from this storm would have been unimaginable.

The people of Mondstadt were safe for now. But the knights guarding the city gates were having a much harder time. They had to fight monsters while enduring the fierce winds.

"Enemy attack! Everyone, prepare! Do not let a single monster pass! Protect the people of Mondstadt!" Ireland gripped his sword tightly and shouted at the knights defending the gate.

"Lord of the Anemo, please protect my family!"

"Oh Anemo Archon, please watch over the people of Mondstadt!"

The knights behind Ireland gripped their swords firmly, their eyes resolute. They whispered prayers to the god they believed in.

A horde of Hilichurls and Abyss Mages charged toward them, ferocious and bloodthirsty.

The monsters moved fast. In an instant, the reckless Hilichurls were upon them, clashing fiercely with the knights.

Because of the strong winds, the knights' bows were useless. They had to fight with their swords.

The wind made it hard to swing their blades, forcing them to thrust forward wildly. The Hilichurls weren't faring much better either.

Some Hilichurls had their wooden clubs blown away by the wind. The larger Mitachurls were strong, but even their swings were slowed by the gale.

Watching the intense battle unfold, Noelle took a deep breath. She couldn't just stand there. Since she was here, she had to help her seniors.

She looked at Bonanus.

"Go. You can do it. My Noelle is the strongest. Believe in yourself." Bonanus encouraged her seriously.

Hearing that, Noelle took a deep breath, straightened her back, and let her Geo energy envelop her, forming a sturdy shield.

That shield would protect not only herself, but also her senior knights, and the people of Mondstadt.

Her broom had long been blown away by the wind. In her hands, Geo energy slowly took shape, forming a massive greatsword.

Without hesitation, Noelle leaped off the city wall. The greatsword of Geo crashed into the ground, repelling a wave of Hilichurls.

The knights fighting the Hilichurls were immediately energized by her arrival. Noelle's shield gave them a strong sense of security.

Watching from above, Bonanus smiled with satisfaction. Surrounding her, Hydro energy formed sharp scales that swiftly entered the battlefield.

The scales seemed unaffected by the wind, tearing through the battlefield mercilessly. Their primary targets were the larger Hilichurls and the Abyss Mages.

As she controlled the Hydro energy to attack the Hilichurls, Bonanus watched the battle in the sky.

Above, a young girl was fighting a dragon.
