Eliora woke up and stretched her arms, yawning. She blinked and looked around the room.
The bed beside her was empty and cold, which meant Zarek was already long gone. She glanced at the window and her eyes went wide with shock. The sun was high in the sky. It was already noon!
She sat up in bed, a wave of panic hitting her. She was the queen now. She could not just sleep the morning away like a lazy commoner! But what did Queens even do all day? Did she have meetings? Was she to rule the courts?
She didn't know and the only person she could ask hated her guts right now. She sighed and got out of bed, ringing the bell to call her maids.
The door opened few minutes later and Clara and Tess stepped into the room, bowing. "Good day, My Queen."
"We hope you slept well. You looked very tired." Clara said.
"Good morning. And yes, I did. What time is it? Why did no one wake me?"
