"Mr. Weasley, I need to remind you of something. Your holiday assignments are practically identical, except for a few differences."
After class, Professor McGonagall stopped Fred and George and handed them back their holiday homework. "Take it back and redo it. If a similar situation occurs again, you'll be put in solitary confinement. You have to do your own homework and stop trying to copy other people's work."
"We did it ourselves, we were on the same page, we just had a great understanding," the twins said in unison, looking at each other.
Professor McGonagall was taken aback by his words, not expecting the twins to be so in sync. She looked them up and down, nodded, and said, "Alright, I'll let it go this time. If there's a next time, you'll be put in solitary confinement."
Watching Professor McGonagall's departing figure, the twins happily high-fived each other and winked at Lee Jordan and Albert.
"Actually, Professor McGonagall saw through your tricks a long time ago, and I believe Snape won't let you off easily," Albert warned.
His words soon proved true. The twins' excuses were no match for Snape; the Potions Professor simply stared at them coldly and said, "Take it back and redo it."
"At least Snape gave you a chance." Li Jordan patted Fred on the shoulder with a gloating smile. "You know, that's Snape. You're already pretty lucky that you weren't put in solitary confinement."
"I think Snape can read our minds," George suddenly said.
"Don't look Snape in the eye, or he'll see right through you," Albert warned. "It's definitely some kind of magic, though I haven't figured out what it is yet."
"Magic?" The three looked at each other, but still believed it to some extent.
"Recently, I plan to…" Albert raised his hand and gestured as if to walk, "…I need to cross the rope on the fifth floor of the castle."
"When do you plan to..." Fred's eyes lit up. They knew that Albert had mastered the Disillusionment Charm. With this powerful tool for nighttime travel, they basically didn't need to worry about being caught by Filch.
"Recently." Albert stopped and caught the object flying toward him. He opened it and found it was a piece of chalk.
"Good afternoon, Peeves!" Albert raised his wand and deflected all the chalk boxes that Peeves threw at him.
Pipi Ghost made a face at the group and then tried to throw something in their direction.
"Here, take this back..."
With that, Albert threw the chalk back, which passed right through Peeves' head and hit the wall behind him. Peeves made a rude gesture at them, then turned and floated away.
"That's a great place," Fred said in a low voice. "I've always wanted to go in and take a look. I've heard that some of the books there are dangerous."
"What are you talking about?" Li Qiaodan, not following their train of thought, looked at them in confusion.
"The library, the rope," George reminded him.
"You mean…" Li Qiaodan suddenly realized, but before he could finish speaking, he was glared at by the three of them and swallowed his words back.
"It's enough that you know it yourself," Albert said, patting him on the shoulder.
"However, the things there are still too advanced for us." Li Qiaodan knew his own limitations, so he never considered going there because he simply couldn't learn them.
"The magic of the past is a bit dangerous to people today," Albert said dismissively. "In ancient times, wizards were almost unrestrained. The magic they created and used was a product of their unbridled nature. Many spells look like a mess now, and they were not standardized or easy to understand when they were recorded."
Those ancient books are difficult to understand without study, and some are even written in ancient magical script. That's why Hogwarts puts them in the restricted section to prevent students from reading them and then using them inadvertently causing them trouble.
But Albert is different; he has a control panel!
Once he finishes reading the book, he can easily master any spell that appears on the panel through the experience pool.
Expanding the diversity of magic is actually quite necessary.
"Your words remind me of Open Sesame." Fred recalled the time when Albert had torn down the door to Professor McGonagall's office.
"I looked up the spell later. Before the Alohomora was opened, the unlocking spell people used was 'Open the Door' and then 'Open Sesame'." With the three of them looking on with interest, Albert continued, "This spell is like a rude visitor kicking down someone's door, achieving a kind of door opening."
"In comparison, the current Arahu Cavern is indeed more refined, which is one of the characteristics of modern spells."
"This is unbelievable." Li Qiaodan looked completely astonished.
"This spell is just so…cool." The twins' eyes gleamed with eager anticipation.
After lunch, the Weasley twins had to go to the library. They had more homework than the others, and if they didn't finish it on time, they might really be put in solitary confinement by Snape.
This was a nightmare for the two of them, and they absolutely couldn't let it happen.
"What strange stuff are you studying now?" After finishing his homework, Li Qiaodan glanced at Albert's parchment, which was covered with strange symbols that he couldn't understand at all.
"The rune." Albert pointed to the three intersecting lines above, somewhat resembling a star symbol missing a horizontal line and having an extra diagonal line on the right. "This symbolizes wealth; it is said that wearing it as an amulet can increase a person's fortune."
"I think you're lucky enough," Li Qiaodan muttered to himself.
"No one would mind if they were luckier," Albert said casually.
"Is this thing useful?" The twins, who were busy doing their homework, leaned closer. "We need some luck lately."
"Then you need some Felix Felicis," Albert said.
What is that?
"Lucky Water, it is said that drinking it will bring you good luck for a period of time."
"There's such a thing?" The twins found it incredible.
"Yes, but it is said that it takes several months to prepare this medicine."
"A few months!" George couldn't help but raise his voice. After being stared at by a group of people, he quickly shrank back, pretending to be invisible.
"Felix Felicis is very difficult to prepare; even the slightest mistake can turn it into poison," Albert said in a low voice.
How did you know?
"I found this while looking for information on Snape's homework last time. I looked it up again later out of interest, but unfortunately I couldn't find the formula for Felix Felicis," Albert explained casually.
"I'm more curious, are these things you've made actually effective?" Field, who had been watching for a while, suddenly asked.
"I dare say it won't work." Albert couldn't help but roll his eyes. "That rune you were looking at was for increasing a guy's attractiveness."
"Oh, so what makes a girl more attractive?" Field asked casually. Actually, Field had also studied ancient runes, and although she only got an E on the exam, she could still sense that Albert had considerable skill in this area.
It's unbelievable how he managed to acquire all this knowledge.
Those complex runes were not easy to draw. She herself studied them for a long time and only managed to decipher them by referring to the annotations on the parchment.
I highly recommend [Mimi Reading app]. It's really great and worth installing for all book lovers. It supports both Android and Apple phones!
"Oh, no. After all, I'm a man," Albert said matter-of-factly. "If these runes were effective, I would definitely use them on myself first."
