Chapter 97 - Looking for crown

After several days of rain, the sky finally cleared, and the temperature around the castle began to drop sharply. Winter had arrived in Scotland without warning.

In the dormitory, Fred, carrying a small watering can and humming a tune, was standing by the window watering the garlic sprouts that had sprouted in the flowerpot.

The garlic, thanks to everyone's careful care, has finally sprouted in the flowerpot and is now as tall as a thumb.

"I really don't understand, back then..." George was putting on a hand-knitted sweater, muttering a complaint under his breath, "Why didn't we think of planting garlic in flowerpots back then?"

"Don't water and fertilize the garlic sprouts in the flowerpot all day long, or you'll kill them." Albert was buttoning up his robe when he reminded him, "Today is a rare good day, don't forget to take the flowerpot outside and let it get some sun. Plants don't live long without sunlight."

The weather is getting colder and colder. It has been raining on and off throughout October, and the weather has been terrible. Clear skies are a rare sight.

The pot of garlic in the dormitory has hardly ever had a chance to get any sun. Since it sprouted, the number of times it has been taken out to sunbathe can be counted on one hand.

"What are you guys up to?"

As they passed through the front hall, Filch stopped them.

"Hogwarts doesn't have a rule against growing plants, does it?" Fred said, pointing to the flowerpot in his hand. "I don't think this violates any school rules, right?"

By the way, [Mimi Reading app] is really good and worth installing, after all, it has many book sources, a wide selection of books, and fast updates!

"This is grass, do you think I'm blind?" Filch said, pointing to the garlic seedlings in the flowerpot.

"Ahem, garlic was a weed not long before people discovered it was edible," Albert pointed out, raising an eyebrow. "Besides, it's not a dangerous plant."

"Hmph, you'd better not let me find out what you're up to behind my back." Filch glared at the four men, then turned and walked away, clutching his cat.

"That guy is awful." George made a rude gesture toward Filch's retreating figure.

"You can give him a few cloves after the garlic is planted; cats hate the pungent smell of garlic." Albert's expression turned very strange, as if he had thought of some bad idea.

During the meal, the older students around them kept talking about Hogsmeade. Charlie also unusually gave up his grueling weekend training, allowing the regular Quidditch team members a day off.

Percy sat not far from them, chattering away with the others about the interesting things that happened in Hogsmeade.

Nobody knew that Albert and his group had already sneaked into Hogsmeade through a secret passage for a visit.

At nine o'clock in the morning, students heading to Hogsmeade began to gather in the foyer.

Filch stood in the middle of the gate, holding a long list, checking the names of the students heading to Hogsmeade one by one. His wrinkled old face pressed hard against the list, and after reading each name, he would look at the person's face with suspicion, wary of any younger students taking the opportunity to sneak out.

The four returned to the common room, which was mostly empty except for first and second graders. They were all happy that no one was taking their comfortable spots from them.

Of course, there were also a few older students who had obviously been to Hogsmeade many times and no longer found it novel.

"Shall we continue with our homework?" George asked. "My metathesis is still an inch short."

"I'm done," Albert said, patting George on the shoulder. "You guys keep up the good work. I'm going for a walk and taking some pictures."

As he spoke, he raised the camera in his hand and asked, "Anyone want to come along?"

"I think I'll pass!" Fred said, a little annoyed. He simply couldn't believe how Albert managed to finish the endless pile of homework assigned by the professors.

The others shook their heads as well. They hadn't finished their metamorphosis papers due next Monday, and if they couldn't submit them on time, they might be put in solitary confinement by Professor McGonagall.

Moreover, none of them had yet mastered the Levitation Charm from the Spellbook, and they needed to spend time practicing the spell.

"Never mind then, I'll go by myself." Albert had expected his roommates' response.

"Let us copy your homework… to learn from it!" Li Qiaodan said before Albert turned to leave.

"Don't even think about it. Do you think Professor McGonagall wouldn't notice? Be careful, she might put you in solitary confinement." Albert waved to the group and then disappeared into the entrance of the lounge.

Today, Hogwarts Castle was practically empty. Most of the upperclassmen had gone to Hogsmeade to play, while the freshmen were enjoying having the common room all to themselves.

For Albert, this was a good opportunity. He went to the tapestry on the eighth floor of the castle depicting the troll beating Barnabas, took a picture of it, and after checking that no one was around, he closed his eyes and began pacing back and forth in front of the wall opposite the tapestry.

I need a place to hide things... I need a place to hide things... I need a place to hide things...

When Albert walked past the empty wall for the third time, the pattern of the door began to appear on the wall, and the door of the Room of Requirement opened for Albert once again.

After confirming that no one was around, he pushed open the door and went inside.

On the other side of the door was a spacious area, like a great hall. Sunlight streamed through the windows above the room, illuminating a small mountain of discarded furniture. It was easy to see that these small mountains were made up of items used by Hogwarts students and professors throughout the ages.

"Success." Albert raised his hand and made a yes sign. Even though he knew he could find this place, he still couldn't help but feel a little excited when he actually entered the Room of Requirement, where the items were stored.

There was nothing they could do; Voldemort's Horcruxes were hidden somewhere here.

Finding the Ravenclaw tiara is why Albert came here.

Every protagonist in a Harry Potter fanfiction will attempt to enter the Room of Requirement to find Voldemort's Horcruxes and take on the great task of defeating the Dark Lord as their own responsibility.

Well, even the fanfiction protagonists that Albert wrote in his previous life couldn't escape this fate.

However, Albert had no intention of imbuing himself with such noble sentiments; to fight to the death with that intellectually challenged "no-nose monster" was clearly not something a rational person would do.

Moreover, defeating the Dark Lord is Potter's job.

Stealing the spotlight from the main character is not a fair thing to do.

Moreover, the savior Potter is born with a protagonist's halo, so he is naturally required to be at the forefront of dangerous situations. Even when faced with life-or-death crises, he can withstand them through the protagonist's halo. The title "Boy Who Lived" is not given lightly.

However, Voldemort was ultimately a problem that needed to be dealt with.

In Albert's eyes, this final boss was just a nuisance, and he didn't mind helping to fan the flames and make the guy, who was jokingly called "the noseless monster," die even faster.

The premise is that the death of this big boss in the Harry Potter novels can bring him enough benefits.

In fact, Albert never doubted this.

After all, he's a big boss, and no matter what, you can extract enough benefits from him through the panel.
