Chapter 30 - open sesame

"I thought so too." Albert couldn't help but laugh, glancing sideways at the ghost that was falling on a passerby, and raised his hand to greet it: "Good morning, Sir Nicholas."

Good morning, child. What's up?

"Sir, do you have time to take a picture of me?" Albert asked, holding up his camera.

"Oh, okay!" Nick thought for a moment and asked, "Do we need to strike a pose?"

"No need, come on, look this way." Albert adjusted the angle and snapped a picture of Nick.

Is it okay now?

"That's fine, thank you, Sir Nicholas."

"You're welcome, I'll be going now!" Nick quickly floated away.

Angelina leaned closer, wanting to see what Albert had taken, but there was nothing in the photos.

"It seems that Muggle cameras cannot capture ghosts; perhaps wizard cameras can," Albert wrote Sir Nicholas de Minsie Porpington on the back of the photograph.

"It's amazing you can remember his name." Angelina admired Albert's memory; she herself certainly couldn't remember that string of names.

"It's not a problem with the camera," a voice said.

Albert turned his head and saw a beautiful redhead just entering the auditorium. Noticing that everyone was looking at her, she explained, "The photos need the correct developing solution for the people inside to move. Also, ghosts are spirits; they can't be captured by cameras."

After saying that, the girl walked towards the Ravenclaw table.

"Wow, no wonder you're a Ravenclaw student, you know so much," George exclaimed dramatically.

"That's really impressive," Albert remarked, then looked at Angelina and invited, "After you finish eating, would you like to come with us to explore other parts of the school?"

"I'd better not," Angelina hesitated for a moment, then declined. "I have plans with someone else."

"That's a real shame." Albert picked up a piece of fruit, munching on it while pondering how to get his hands on the developing solution.

The auditorium gradually filled up with students, mostly freshmen. Perhaps because it was the weekend, the older students were staying up late, while the freshmen were already eager to visit the school.

After saying goodbye to Angelina, the four chatted as they walked out of the auditorium. As they passed through the foyer, they all noticed Filch holding a cat and staring at them.

Albert stopped and noticed a new task notification on his screen:

Malicious intent from the administrator.

You've been spotted by Filch, the warden of Hogwarts. It's time to fight back. During your nighttime stroll, shake off Filch's pursuit and show him that even if he's watching you, he won't be able to find any clues.

Reward: 1000 experience points.

After reading the quests, Albert couldn't help but twitch at the corner of his mouth. He noticed that since arriving at Hogwarts, triggering quests on the panel seemed to have become a bit more frequent.

"What's wrong?" Fred asked, turning around in confusion.

"It's nothing." Albert quickened his pace to catch up with the group. As the four crossed the damp overpass, he suddenly asked, "Do you know the incantation for the Disillusionment Charm?"

"What is that?" George asked, puzzled.

"It's supposedly a kind of invisibility magic," Albert explained. "I read about it in a book; this invisibility spell can make a person or thing disguised look like a chameleon."

"That sounds really cool." George was intrigued by the spell. "If I could master it, I wouldn't have to worry about getting caught when I go out at night."

"That's what I think too. At least we don't need to worry about Filch anymore." Albert nodded. He planned to go on his nighttime adventures after mastering the Disillusionment Charm.

"But how are we going to get the spell?" Fred asked, a little frustrated. "Dad might know, but he certainly won't tell us."

"How about asking the professor?" Li suggested.

"For now, we can only look for it in the library," Albert said. "Of course, if we can't find it, we can ask the spell professor, but I have some doubts about whether he'll be willing to teach us the spell, since he might associate it with nighttime wandering."

The group exchanged glances and sighed helplessly. If they could master this magic, many things would be much easier in the future.

Albert stopped by the overpass, placed his hands on the railing, and looked down. He remembered that at the end of the novel, Harry Potter broke the Elder Wand here and threw it off the bridge.

That spendthrift son.

The Elder Wand is a great thing; even if you don't use it, you can find a secluded place to hide it.

That was a true artifact from the Harry Potter novels, and the other was the Philosopher's Stone; in the end, both of these precious items were destroyed.

"Anyway, let's find the library first."

"Even if we find it, we probably won't be able to learn it for the time being?" Li said somewhat dejectedly, not forgetting that he hadn't even mastered the simplest magic.

"Don't talk such discouraging things." Albert glanced at Lee and said disdainfully, "How do you think I mastered other magic?"

"How did you do that?" the twins asked curiously.

"Of course you have to spend a lot of time practicing, otherwise do you expect to learn it in no time?" Albert said irritably.

The four of them walked and talked about the Disillusionment Spell. They wandered around the first floor of the castle for a long time and found several empty classrooms piled with miscellaneous items, as well as a place that seemed to be a secret passage. However, they could not open the secret passage, which made the four of them very frustrated.

"Most secret passages require a specific password or a special rhythm to open," Albert explained to the three as they walked. "Finding one is a matter of luck, or you could ask other people who know about secret passages, but I dare say they won't tell us easily."

"The Transfiguration classroom," George reminded him. "I remember Professor McGonagall taught Transfiguration."

Lee Jordan whispered, "I heard this course is super difficult."

"It is indeed a bit difficult." Albert also discovered this when he was learning on his own. He spent the most time turning matches into needles, but after learning it, most of the transformations actually became not so difficult.

Of course, it could also be related to his panel skills.

The four of them found the history of magic classroom on the second floor of the castle. Luckily, the classrooms were marked, otherwise they really wouldn't know where to look.

"There's a wooden door here; I think it's a secret passage," Lee Jordan said excitedly, pointing to the entrance hidden behind the stone statue.

"It seems to be locked." Albert drew his wand and used Alohomora on the wooden door in front of him.

"Your spell has failed." Fred reached out and twisted it, but it still wouldn't open.

"I guess it will require some kind of password to open it," Albert muttered.

"What do you think the password would usually be?" Lee Jordan countered.

"How could I possibly know?" Albert rolled his eyes at Lee, then thought for a moment and added, "The most famous secret door password in the Muggle world is 'Open Sesame,' a story that comes from Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves."

Just then, Albert's wand struck the wooden door.

The next moment, the wooden plank on the door was ripped off the hinge, and it looked like it was about to crumble into a pile of firewood.

All four of them gaped, their eyes practically bulging out of their sockets, completely unaware of what had just happened.
