Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: Hyperbolic Time Chamber

The next day.

Sakura ran to Bulma's house in West City to vent her frustrations.

Although Sakura had already married Vegeta and given birth to a child, she was still an inexperienced woman who barely understood the world.

Especially after marrying Vegeta, there had been almost no communication between them.

With a baby to raise, no parents or in-laws to help, and no relatives or friends around, she had been struggling alone like a single parent. The hardships had piled up endlessly.

She had no one to talk to, no way to relieve the pressure.

So she came here.

In Bulma's eyes, Sakura reminded her strongly of Chi-Chi from her previous life. Naturally, she felt sympathy and pity for her.

Money was secondary. The real difficulty was a woman trying to survive alone in a foreign place. Without family support, and with Vegeta himself having lost his parents long ago—and being cold, selfish, and prideful by nature—just imagining how much Sakura had endured since coming to Mount Paozu was enough.

A few sentences couldn't possibly release all the grievances she had bottled up.

Bulma didn't have a good solution either. She and Sakura were completely different people. Even though Bulma didn't know martial arts, she was mentally strong and independent. All she could do was comfort her—she couldn't truly empathize with her situation.

The more she comforted her, the more emotional Sakura became.

Sure enough, before long, Sakura broke into loud sobbing.

Bulma could only listen quietly. She didn't like interfering in other people's family matters.

"Bulma, do you think Saiyans are all cold-blooded?"

"Before, when Vegeta finished training, he would at least go hunting or fishing… but yesterday he didn't come home. I went to find him and asked him to earn some money for the baby's milk… and he told me to get lost."

"I felt it. He doesn't like me at all…"

"Bulma, I've thought about it for a long time. I'm already raising this child alone anyway. Vegeta has never cared about me or the baby. I want to cut ties with him completely. I'll take the child and go back home… I don't want to live like this anymore…"

Hearing Sakura's crying confession and her plans, Bulma scratched her head awkwardly.

Family disputes were the hardest to judge.

Marriage was something people usually encouraged reconciliation over separation.

But in this situation, trying to push reconciliation felt like telling her to endure suffering.

After thinking for a moment, Bulma chose another angle.

"Sakura, don't be too sad. If you need money, I can lend you some."

Sakura shook her head.

"It's not about money. Mount Paozu is big—we can farm, hunt… life itself isn't hard. The real problem is… I can't feel any care from him at all. I feel so hopeless…"

She hugged her knees and started crying again.

Bulma gently rubbed her head without speaking.

Her gaze fell on the sleeping baby in the stroller Sakura had brought.

She lightly touched the child's head.

The baby's lips twitched slightly before turning over and continuing to sleep peacefully.

Seeing that scene, memories flickered in Bulma's eyes.

In her previous life, after everyone had sacrificed themselves and Earth had entered its apocalyptic period, she had escaped alone while raising a young Trunks.

Even in such hardship, she had never given up hope.

She couldn't even remember how she had endured it all.

Perhaps… this was what people meant when they said a mother becomes strong for her child.

Bulma turned back to Sakura.

"The child is adorable. He'll definitely grow into a handsome boy. With Saiyan blood, he'll probably become very capable."

Hearing her mention the child, Sakura's crying slowed.

She looked at Bulma, then at the baby.

Hope flickered faintly in her red eyes.

"Yes… I think he's the cutest baby… He'll definitely achieve something when he grows up."

Just as Sakura was about to continue, the sky suddenly darkened.

Black clouds rolled in, covering everything.

Lightning flashed. Thunder roared.

In the distance, a golden pillar of light shot into the sky.

Sakura stared in shock.

"What's happening? Why did the sky suddenly turn dark?"

She quickly picked up the child, worried the phenomenon might harm him.

Bulma also looked toward the golden light.

"Don't worry. There's no danger. Goku and the others gathered the Dragon Balls—they're summoning Shenron to make a wish."

Sakura froze.

"Summoning Shenron?"

"Right. You've never seen it before, have you? Come on, I'll take you to watch. The servants here will look after your baby."

After confirming the child would be cared for, Sakura nodded and followed Bulma.

Golden light coiled into the shape of a massive green dragon in the sky.

Shenron's eyes glowed red.

"State your wish."

Though not extremely close, Sakura and Bulma could hear the majestic voice clearly.

Sakura gasped.

"So this is Shenron… the dragon that can grant any wish."

Bulma smiled faintly.

"Yes."

Sakura looked at her with envy.

"You can gather the Dragon Balls whenever you want and make any wish… that must feel amazing."

Bulma shook her head.

"I invented the Dragon Radar, so technically I could gather them every year. But I don't use them recklessly."

"Why?"

"Shenron was created by Namekians. The purpose of the Dragon Balls is to give people hope—to cure diseases beyond modern technology or bring someone back to life. If you used them even for everyday problems, life would lose its meaning."

"Like a video game with infinite cheats. At first it's exciting, but soon it becomes boring."

"I think life is the same."

Sakura nodded slowly, half understanding.

"Bulma… you really know a lot."

Just then, Goku made his wish.

"Please grant Chi-Chi a thousand years of lifespan!"

Shenron's eyes flashed. A surge of life energy descended upon Chi-Chi in the hospital room.

Instantly, she recovered completely.

"Your wish has been granted. Farewell."

The Dragon Balls shot off in seven directions, turning to stone as the sky cleared.

Moments later, Chi-Chi ran out of the hospital room and threw herself into Goku's arms, nearly knocking him over.

Seeing her fully recovered, glowing with energy, Goku laughed and spun her around several times before they kissed.

Krillin and Yamcha stood nearby awkwardly, but they understood—it was simply joy.

Even Sakura blushed slightly.

"Doing that in front of everyone… how embarrassing…"

Bulma laughed.

"If they're not embarrassed, why should you be?"

After a moment, Goku finally noticed the guest.

"Huh? Sakura? What brings you here?"

She smiled awkwardly.

"I came to visit Bulma. And… congratulations, Chi-Chi!"

Chi-Chi smiled sweetly.

"Thank you!"

Seeing her happiness filled Sakura with deep envy… even a trace of jealousy.

If Vegeta could show even a fraction of that affection toward her, she would gladly endure anything.

But life was never equal.

What was ordinary for others felt like an unreachable dream to her.

Soon everyone gathered for lunch.

Later, as they discussed the recent encounter with the Androids, Krillin mentioned how Vegeta had provoked them and been beaten badly.

Sakura froze.

"So that's what happened… Even after becoming a Super Saiyan, he still lost… No wonder he's in a bad mood."

Bulma blinked.

"You didn't know?"

Sakura shook her head bitterly.

"No one told me…"

Chi-Chi spoke gently.

"He's proud. Losing must hurt deeply. This is when you should care for him more—not fight with him."

Bulma watched in surprise. In her previous life, Chi-Chi hadn't been like this.

People truly could change.

Sakura rubbed her temples.

"I want to help him… but I can't. He doesn't even acknowledge me."

Raditz suddenly spoke.

"I think I know why he doesn't look at you."

"Why?"

"Saiyan instincts favor strong women. The more you cry, the less he respects you."

Chi-Chi glanced at Goku.

"Really?"

Goku waved his hands quickly.

"Everyone's different! I like gentle women!"

Chi-Chi smiled smugly.

"Good. Because Bulma, Launch, and I are all very gentle, right?"

Goku nodded quickly.

"Yes, yes, you're right!"

Sakura looked conflicted.

Raditz added, "Kakarot grew up on Earth, so he's different. But most Saiyans respect strength."

Sakura nodded slowly.

"Then… I'll become stronger. Even if I'm hurt, I won't cry in front of him anymore."

Bulma sighed.

"Don't misunderstand. Only be strong when it comes from genuine care. Don't lose yourself trying to change."

At that moment, Goku suddenly thought of something.

"Where is Vegeta right now?"

"He was at the cliff behind Mount Paozu yesterday," Sakura said.

Goku nodded.

"He doesn't need comfort. He needs strength. He wants revenge."

Sakura's eyes widened.

"You have a way?"

"On Kami's Lookout, there's a place called the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. One year inside equals one day outside. A person can enter it for two days in their lifetime."

"You should tell Vegeta. With his current determination, he'll improve rapidly."

Krillin slapped his forehead.

"Right! The Hyperbolic Time Chamber! That's perfect for him."

Everyone agreed.

Sakura immediately stood.

"Thank you for telling me. I'll go find him now!"
