Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: Happy Birthday

"What does this have to do with you?"

Faced with Yoshimura Kuzen's concern, Eto did not seem to appreciate it. Her attitude was not very good.

"Eto-chan, this Yoshimura-san is..."

Minami Uruka was about to introduce him to Eto when she was stopped by Ihei Byakuya.

"The shop manager is actually Eto's father, and Eto and I are not siblings."

Byakuya said it directly.

He felt that it was about time for Minami Uruka to know these things.

He was able to trust Minami Uruka.

"What?..."

Upon learning that Eto was actually Mr. Yoshimura's daughter, Minami Uruka was immediately astonished.

She had always thought that Eto-chan was human. The scent on Eto-chan clearly smelled human as well.

But Mr. Yoshimura was a ghoul. The offspring of a ghoul could not possibly be human.

Could it be that Eto-chan, like her, had deliberately changed the scent on her body...?

Seeing that Byakuya had taken the initiative to tell Minami Uruka about this matter, Yoshimura Kuzen did not say anything.

"So... Eto-chan is actually a ghoul?"

Minami Uruka asked somewhat incredulously.

"Does it really matter whether I am human or a ghoul?"

Yoshimura Eto asked in return.

"No, I just always thought you were human."

Minami Uruka explained with a smile.

"..."

Now that her identity had been exposed anyway, Yoshimura Eto no longer needed to keep acting in front of her.

"As long as Byakuya does not mind, that is enough."

As she spoke, Eto hugged Byakuya even tighter.

"Darling, what do you think?"

Her eyes stared straight at Byakuya, as if the moment he dared to say no, she would immediately explode on the spot.

"Darling?..."

Minami Uruka was stunned.

What... is going on?

"..."

Yoshimura Kuzen was also slightly stunned.

He had just been wondering what exactly was going on between Byakuya and Eto, and now Eto had practically told him the answer through her actions.

"Yes."

At this moment, Byakuya could only answer like this.

"Alright, it is about time to start today's main event."

Ihei Byakuya continued speaking to Eto, "Have you forgotten? Today is your birthday."

"Of course I remember."

Yoshimura Eto nodded slightly.

The fact that Byakuya was celebrating her birthday made her genuinely happy inside.

"Can I stay?"

At this moment, Yoshimura Kuzen asked.

"Do as you like."

Although she seemed to reject Yoshimura Kuzen on the surface and her tone sounded indifferent, this sentence from Yoshimura Eto was also a tacit permission.

This was the first time she had met her father since she could remember. How could she really bear to let Kuzen simply go back the way he came?

At the beginning, there had not been much conflict between Eto and Kuzen. It was only later that Eto gradually became completely disappointed in her weak and retreating father and even in the entire world.

Before the hope in Eto's heart was completely worn away, if Kuzen had taken the initiative to meet her even once, perhaps everything that followed could have become different.

Especially at this stage of Eto's life, Kuzen's sudden arrival was decisive.

At this moment, Yoshimura Kuzen also felt somewhat relieved.

Although the shop manager remained calm in the face of everything and was even composed in the face of death, when facing his daughter alone he was somewhat at a loss.

After that, Yoshimura Eto changed into her own clothes.

The birthday celebration officially began.

Cake was naturally indispensable.

Although only Ihei Byakuya and Eto could eat it, while Kuzen and Uruka, being ghouls, could not eat cake.

Byakuya simply bought a single-serving cake, and it was enough for Eto alone.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you..."

After singing the birthday song and finishing the cake,

Ihei Byakuya presented the birthday gift.

A white laptop bag.

"What is this?"

Yoshimura Eto immediately asked.

"A laptop."

As he spoke, Ihei Byakuya took a laptop out of the bag.

"Using this to type will be more convenient than writing on paper."

Byakuya explained.

"Is that so...?"

Although Yoshimura Eto had never seen one, she had at least heard of the functions of this thing called a laptop.

"Come to think of it, I only write books out of interest. Do I really need such a good tool?"

Eto had only just started writing. She had not even tried signing with a publishing house yet, so she naturally did not have a clear understanding of her own level and talent.

"Of course you'll need it, because I believe that in the future you'll definitely become a great world-famous author."

Ihei Byakuya said with a smile.

........

Original Author's Note: This book will end here. I feel that there is nothing more to write after this. This month this book has almost zero income. Although the fundamental reason is that I did not update properly, I also have no way to maintain proper updates anymore.

Not only because of final exams and relationship problems in real life, but also a more important reason is that the world setting of Tokyo Ghoul is too small.

I have already written one 500,000-word Starting With Dual Kamui and one 1,000,000-word Fusion Madara. Now there is nothing left to write. I tried to force something different, and as a result this book felt awkward to write.

And with the plot progressing to this point, what comes next is nothing more than dealing with the Washuu and dealing with the Washuu Clan. I have already written two books about confronting the Washuu Clan. No matter how I write this one, it cannot escape the shadow of the previous two. That makes me uncomfortable, so I cannot continue.

Moreover, this site is very strict about plagiarism, especially harsh toward fanfiction. If you have read my first Chainsaw Man Dual Kamui on Tomato, you should know that when it had just debuted and was at its highest traffic, Tomato banned it for a few days because that book and another Chainsaw Man book I had on another site used the same setting from the original work, and they judged it as minor similarity. Although I revised it, if that situation happens again I will not be able to handle it.

So I have been writing this book somewhat cautiously the entire time. This is the first time since I came to this site that I have written in such a restrained and constipated manner. It is time to stop struggling. I can only say sorry.

That is it then.

(This decision is also related to my future life plans. I have planned that after graduating from university I will immediately return home to take over the family business. My family runs a factory doing renovation. At the same time I will not give up writing, but I need a book that can be written long term and steadily. I cannot keep starting several new fanfiction books a year like before, because I do not have that much energy.)

.....

TL Note: It's a shame how abruptly this one ended, but I suppose it's understandable. I'm not sure if this will receive extra chapters, since the author seems to have delisted or deleted the novel from their profile ("Literary Girl"), I'll keep an eye out just in case.

I've also just published another Tokyo Ghoul fanfic TL titled 'Tokyo Ghoul: Soul Eater', it's a decent read set in the main timeline with a single love interest and a system with random rewards.

For now, I'll keep this one marked as ongoing, so that once I publish the next Tokyo Ghoul fic, I can leave a note here for those who might be interested since there's still more to come.

I've also fully translated a previous Tokyo Ghoul fic by this author titled 'Tokyo Ghoul: Starting with Kamui!', and I've thought about eventually doing the other one (Madara Template) as well, since the previous translations were all deleted from here. I'd have to post it on a different site, though, since it seems the person who did it previously had their account deleted a few times from here, not sure.

With that said, take care and have a good one.
