Chapter 9 - The Teacher from the One Piece World

The next morning, Lin Chen woke up.

[Water Breathing Proficiency +1]

Lin Chen's goal was Total Concentration: Constant, so even when sleeping at night, he tried his best to maintain the rhythm of Total Concentration Breathing.

However, his breathing technique level was still too low right now.

Even in a focused state, he couldn't necessarily use Total Concentration Breathing at any time, much less in a half-asleep state.

Fortunately, he had the Martial Arts Panel.

No matter how poor the training efficiency, as long as he practiced, accumulating to a certain degree would grant proficiency.

[Water Breathing LV2 (4/20)]

Looking at the numbers on the panel, Lin Chen was quite satisfied.

He got up early. Breakfast was Sea King meat porridge—couldn't be called delicious, but wouldn't be too unpalatable either.

After eating his fill, Lin Chen jogged to school.

By the time he reached school, it was almost class time.

Quite a few students were hurrying toward the classroom.

Lin Chen casually scanned them and felt several looked quite familiar.

However, since he wasn't actually watching anime, it was impossible to identify characters just by their appearance.

He didn't pay too much attention.

This world was quite insane—whatever character appeared wouldn't surprise him.

Even if a monster suddenly fell from the sky, then Ultraman shot a beam and blasted the monster—

Lin Chen wouldn't find it abstract.

Of course, that's what he said, but it would be best if monsters didn't show up.

Monsters weren't the cute little monsters from Dragon Clan.

Those could each easily destroy entire towns.

Coming to the classroom, most people had already arrived.

This seemed to be his first time coming to the class classroom after transmigrating.

Unlike regular classes, the classroom wasn't particularly important for martial arts classes.

Only when occasionally studying cultural courses did they need to come here.

"Yo, Lin Chen, good morning."

Xia Mi, surrounded by several girls at the center, immediately spotted Lin Chen's arrival.

She greeted him with a smile.

Xia Mi's smile was very lively, carrying extremely strong infectious energy.

If this were in the anime world, someone with her personality would stand at the peak of sunny characters.

"Mm, good morning, Class Monitor."

Lin Chen also greeted Xia Mi.

Then without further entanglement, he headed toward his own seat.

Wow.

Second-to-last row by the window—prime feng shui location.

Behind him was Jotaro, that nearly two-meter-tall giant.

Reasonably speaking, with Jotaro's physique, if he didn't sit in the very last row, he'd probably block quite a few people's learning sight lines.

Not to mention, this was still his delinquent state.

To his right was his sparring partner from yesterday, Natsuki Subaru.

Although his personality's foundation was somewhat twisted, reasonably speaking, he was indeed a good person.

In front was a female student named Zhang Ruo, fairly good-looking.

Judging by the name, she was most likely a native rather than an anime character.

Lin Chen came to his seat and sat down. His butt hadn't even settled when, before Subaru beside him could interject—

An incredibly burly man squeezed through the doorframe.

Lin Chen watched him squeeze through the doorframe and almost laughed out loud.

His body proportions were quite uncoordinated—his upper body was extremely burly, muscles even more explosive than Jotaro in the back row.

Yet his legs appeared quite thin and short.

Actually, his legs were normal human proportions—rather, his upper body was somewhat too inhuman.

His attire was also quite interesting.

White suit and pants, draped with a white Navy Justice cloak, wearing a Navy cap on his head.

This was the standard outfit of a Navy officer from the One Piece world.

Memory stimulated and emerged.

Lin Chen immediately recognized this martial arts teacher.

The homeroom teacher of their senior year martial arts class—Soro D. Pompeii.

This wasn't Caesar's father from Dragon Clan.

This homeroom teacher was genuinely a native, originally named Pompeii.

Supposedly when he was young, he went to the One Piece world to train and served as a Marine, reaching the highest position of Rear Admiral.

After returning from the One Piece world, he'd always maintained his appearance from when he was a Marine Rear Admiral.

He'd even kept his original name from the One Piece world.

Of course, Lin Chen felt that "D" definitely wasn't part of his name in the One Piece world.

Serving as a Marine while having a D? Did he think the Five Elders were dead?

"The cultural studies teacher is sick, so this morning's class will be physique class."

"Everyone prepare yourselves and head to the Body Training classroom."

After Pompeii squeezed into the classroom, he spoke, his voice booming like a bell.

After speaking, he directly turned and left, very much with the decisive and efficient style of a military man.

"The most fitting episode for a cultural studies teacher's physical condition."

Lin Chen silently complained in his heart.

In his previous life, it was always the P.E. teacher who was sick. Coming to the high-martial-arts world, it was finally reversed.

This was also normal.

According to his memories, martial arts universities in recent years had been continuously lowering requirements for students' cultural course grades.

Probably in a few more years, cultural course grades for martial arts students might be completely abolished.

"Let's go."

Jotaro stood up, his face hard, speaking coolly.

Lin Chen followed toward the physique classroom, his eyes full of excitement.

His condition right now was quite good—yesterday's fatigue had completely recovered.

The Sea King meat porridge he ate in the morning was energy-rich and nutritious.

He couldn't wait to train and improve his body level and breathing technique level.

The class gathered into a formation and soon all arrived at the Body Training classroom.

The Body Training classroom was also quite large, but compared to yesterday's absurdly large swordsmanship classroom, it was still considerably smaller.

After all, the swordsmanship classroom was for a group of people to spar.

However, this place wasn't so spacious—it had all kinds of body training equipment.

"Everyone, fall in!"

Pompeii shouted loudly. Everyone in class immediately formed orderly ranks.

Pompeii was Navy-born and led students using military methods.

Everyone formed ranks, with Pompeii standing at the very front giving instructions.

"You all look very spirited, students."

Pompeii swept a glance over the class's students, the corner of his mouth hooking up, revealing a satisfied smile.

"Today, all morning will be our body training class."

"Same old rules—first we'll do a physical assessment. I'll compare with your last results."

"If some students haven't made progress..."

"Hehe." Pompeii's features were rough, his face bearing a vicious scar from a blade—when he smiled, he looked simply like a malicious demon.

"Extra training..."

As soon as the two words "extra training" came out, quite a few people's faces showed bitter expressions.

Pompeii was privately called "Scarface Devil," the demon instructor.

His extra training was quite brutal, and he would genuinely keep close watch on those who needed extra training.

Wanting to slack off was very difficult.

"When I call your name, come to the front."

"Zhang Ruo."

Pompeii put on a single-lens eyepiece with quite a technological feel and spoke.

The girl named Zhang Ruo from Lin Chen's front desk walked to Pompeii.

Pompeii scanned her up and down.

"Body level 1.4, mental level 1.2."

"Hm? How did you regress from last time? Extra training."

Pompeii frowned and spoke loudly.

"Next, Zhou Xing."

Simple physical assessments in the high-martial-arts world didn't need to be so troublesome. The single-lens eyepiece Pompeii wore was a simple testing instrument.

More than sufficient for testing high school students' body and mental levels.

"Next, Lin Chen."

Pompeii spoke.

Lin Chen walked forward.

Pompeii's large eyes scanned, showing some surprise.

"Hmm? You interest me brat, a body of level 2, and a mental level 1.6?"
