The sky above Ryujin High split open at 13:17.
No warning.
No evacuation alarm.
Just a sound like a mountain being torn in half.
A black sun bloomed over the courtyard, bleeding violet runes.
From it poured thirty Arkana cultists in bone-white robes, descending on chains of shadow.
At the same moment, the front gates exploded inward.
A second force: black-armored mercenaries bearing the sigil of the International Hunter Guild—here to "secure the illegal vessel" under global law.
And from the roof dropped Caelum and his five masked Unbroken, coats flaring like ravens.
Three armies.
One school.
One boy in the middle.
Kai stood frozen in the courtyard, lunch tray still in his hands, rice scattered across the concrete.
Aria was already moving, blade out, aura flaring ice-blue.
Hayato Kurogane burst from the faculty building, sword drawn, voice roaring across the intercom and the open air:
"ALL STUDENTS — EVACUATE THROUGH THE REAR GYMNASIUM — NOW!"
But no one was listening anymore.
A cultist landed ten meters from Kai, charm spinning, violet chains already lashing for his throat.
Aria intercepted, steel meeting shadow with a scream of sparks.
Another cultist.
Another Hunter rifle aimed from a rooftop.
Another Unbroken mask turning toward Kai with reverence and hunger.
Too many.
Too fast.
Kai's heart slammed once—hard—like it was trying to break out of his chest.
Ravnos spoke, calm as winter.
Third Seal.
Use it.
Or die screaming.
The Ash-Wing mark between Kai's shoulder blades detonated.
Skin on his back splits along the shoulder blades.
Black cinders pour out like reverse snow.
Two skeletal wings of living obsidian and crimson fire erupt—each feather a burning blade, span 4.8 meters.
Heat aura ignites the air around him into shimmering mirage.
Ground beneath his feet chars into a perfect circle of blackened glass.
Kai screamed.
Not from pain.
From the sudden, impossible feeling of weightlessness and rage.
He didn't choose to move.
The wings did.
One beat.
Kai shot fifteen meters straight up, wind screaming past his ears.
A Hunter's sniper bullet meant for his heart passed through empty air and shattered a window behind where he had stood.
Second beat.
He was above the courtyard, thirty meters high, wings of ash and iron blotting out the sun.
Every combatant looked up at once.
The Arkana cultists hissed in terror.
The Hunters cursed and switched to anti-air rounds.
The Unbroken dropped to their knees again, masks pressed to the ground.
Caelum alone remained standing on the rooftop, arms spread, laughing like a child on festival night.
"There he is!" he shouted to the sky. "There's my little brother!"
Ravnos' voice rolled through Kai's bones like artillery.
Burn them all.
Kai's wings folded.
He dropped.
Like a meteor
Speed: 312 km/h terminal velocity in 2.1 seconds
Target: the Arkana high-priest floating at the center of the black sun
Impact: Kai's right wing slices clean through the priest's shadow chains, then through his torso.
Result: the priest is bisected mid-air; violet blood rains down like ink.
The black sun flickers and dies.
Kai lands in the crater he just made, wings flaring wide, cinders swirling.
Silence for one heartbeat.
Then every faction opens fire at once.
Bullets.
Cursed chains.
Unbroken spears of crimson light.
Kai doesn't dodge.
He can't.
But the wings can.
They move on their own—parrying, slicing, burning.
A storm of ash and fire erupts around him, turning the courtyard into a hellscape.
Aria fights her way to his side, blade flashing, carving a path through two Hunters.
She grabs his wrist.
"Control it!" she screams over the roar of battle. "Or it controls you!"
Kai's eyes are glowing gold now—Ravnos trying to push forward.
He forces the name out through clenched teeth.
"Aria—"
Caelum lands between them, coat swirling, twin short-swords made of the same crimson metal as Kai's wings.
He smiles at Aria.
"Step away from my brother, Mitsuki."
Aria raises her blade.
Caelum sighs.
"Very well."
He moves.
Faster than sight.
One sword at Aria's throat.
The other at Kai's heart.
Time freezes.
Caelum leans in until his forehead almost touches Kai's.
Gold eyes meet gold eyes.
Ravnos and Caelum stare at each other through the same body.
Caelum whispers, soft and intimate:
"I've waited ten thousand years to meet you properly, old king."
Ravnos answers using Kai's mouth, voice layered with ancient thunder:
"And I have waited ten thousand years to kill the blood that betrayed me."
Caelum's smile widens—manic, adoring.
"Then let's not keep destiny waiting."
He presses the blade harder.
A single drop of Kai's blood rolls down the crimson edge.
The moment it falls—
Every remaining seal on Kai's body ignites at once.
Fourth.
Fifth.
Sixth.
The sky cracks again.
This time with crimson lightning.
And Kai screams—not in fear, but in pure, unbroken fury.
The war has truly begun.
