Chapter 5 - The Clean Up

The man who had appeared and came forward right after Neo mysteriously felt something sharp and painful go through his neck and collapsed right at that moment, next to the man's feet.

It turned out that what Neo felt like was a needle that had pierced his neck was actually not what he thought it was. It was the hand of the mysterious man when he had appeared out of nowhere and touched Neo's shoulder.

Then something unexplainable started to happen to Neo, which was actually just a magic command chant, when the man said:

"Okay, that's enough for one day."

He jumped on over to Neo's collapsed body, that was now actually turning back to normal, and the steam of the burns was also being released.

The man looked down right before he knelt.

"This kid's domain must be that strong in order for him to do this to a high ranking Crucifix."

The man had now knelt down with one knee and studying everything like he was a forensic scientist at a crime scene.

Neo's devil domain was still active, but just as soon as the creator of the barrier lost consciousness, the domain actually weakened and was now starting to disintegrate.

"Is it safe to enter inside, sir?"

A man wearing what seemed to be a bio hazard suit slightly opened the weakened barrier, probably checking if it was okay to enter.

The man turned his head and saw that it wasn't someone dangerous but one of his men.

"Sure, I don't see why not."

The man gave him permission.

As the man in a bio hazard suit entered, he was followed by four more men who were wearing the same suit as him, but the difference was in their colour. While his was white, the four mens' suit was actually grey.

All of them were carrying some kind of very slim briefcase, and once they entered, they all marched towards Neo and the dead old man.

The man knew that he had to give them some space so they can work freely.

The mysterious man's name was Keegan, and he was an average height, good looking man who looked like he was in his late twenties close to his early thirties, and he had green piercing eyes that were so beautiful. His hair was sky blue with streaks of white.

And he wore some kind of clothing that looked like the one worn by Chinese men, the one that looked like some kind of suit. It's colour was stylish black, with shoes that matched the outfit.

The bio hazard men did their job. The two that checked Neo's vitals could see that he was alright, though the reading of their thermometer was sky rocketing.

And the two that checked the old man didn't really need some machine to tell them the obvious.

So they just set aside their briefcases and tapped it. Then it opened up, and some creatures that looked like orgres or maybe dwarves that were red in colour, with long pointy ears, and teeth that looked like a shark teeth, and also bald.

Before these creatures could do anything, they looked at the two men, then proceeded to do whatever they needed to do.

They walked on over to the old man's torn limbs, and the creatures coughed up what seemed to be spider legs. In a quick second, they were busy wrapping the limbs, and after they were done, they retreated.

And the old man's limbs were safely wrapped in what seemed to be a shiny, glittered spider web. After that, they were given a drop of blood, then they went back to their designated briefcases.

The two men finished up the work by grabbing the old man and his limbs and put them it a stretcher. Then they left.

"Sir, we have confirmed that the kid is indeed the last child of Osmos."

The man in the white bio hazard reported to Keegan.

Keegan was busy distracted, looking at the domain that was now barely there.

But after he heard the man say what he had just said, he couldn't help himself but turn around.

"Are you sure?"

He couldn't believe it.

"Yes, sir. From the data we have collected, the boy has just awakened his Devil Blood powers, and as much as he seemed strong enough to have created this barrier, he wasn't fully tapped with his whole blood, meaning that he just awakened half of his blood powers."

The man continued to share the details.

Keegan then moved his eyes and looked at Neo's body.

"You are wrong. This isn't just your ordinary barrier that you and I can perform in our sleep. This is a domain, and though it's not the domain expention, it's still a Devil Blood domain, which means if this kid was awake when you entered—"

Keegan took a deep breath.

"Let me just say we would be talking a different story."

He finished off.

After hearing that, the man thought that maybe Keegan was just joking, because he was known as the type of guy that is never serious, so he laughed a little.

"You know, you should quit your job at being the professor at the school and be a stand up comedian."

The man said.

Then Keegan looked at him, and the man realised that there was nothing showing that Keegan was joking.

"Are you really serious?"

The man swallowed his saliva.

"So what should we do about him?"

He composed himself and proceeded to ask.

"Well, I think it would be better if we take him with us to the academy, and the heads will decide what to do with him."

Keegan gave an order.

"But if it were up to me, looking at him, I would suggest that we actually make him our ally, because if he's able to do this to a high rank and he's not even fully awakened, I'm afraid how strong he will be if his father does come back and manages to turn him over and feeling his blood flow. He's either both humanity's last hope or the end."

Keegan was moving his hand around all over Neo's body.

Just then, one of the men that are in a grey bio hazard suit came back.

"Sir, I think there's something that both of you need to see."

He reported.

"What is it?"

Keegan asked without looking at him.

"It's better if you come and see for yourselves."

He replied.

Before they stepped out like the man in the grey suit had suggested, the one in white put down his own case, which was unlike his underlings. His was actually a silver suitcase, and once he put it down,

He placed his hand in the air like he was about to pray, then he crossed both hands using his index and middle fingers.

Then he said something quietly.

Then something happened. The suitcase started to move around, and there was a loud bang inside of it like something wanted to escape. After he unlocked his fingers and put his hands back in the praying position, then suitcase stopped moving around.

Then it opened itself.

A stone skinned humanoid monster figure emerged from within the suitcase. It's hardened skin was overflowing with lava, and it's eyes were fiery Orange.

It didn't say anything because it couldn't speak, but it just stood there and stared at the person who had summoned it. At first, it looked at Keegan, but something inside it knew that he wasn't the one that called it, so it looked away and looked at the man.

"Please take this boy and take him to the the academy's infirmary."

The man commanded it.

The monster knelt down with one knee and put it's hand to it's chest, and it bowed down.

"So how about we go and check what really got your friends all worked up."

Keegan said.

"Sure, you lead the way."

The man moved out of the way and let Keegan pass.

As they both left, behind them something else was taking place. The monster had picked up Neo's body and swallowed him whole into his mouth.

Then it went back to it's suitcase.

Once they got outside, and since the sky was also affected by the domain, it was slowly going back to normal.

The man in the grey suit was waiting for them outside, and so he took them to what he wanted to show them.

He opened the blanket and showed them Neo's parents.

"Now I guess we know why the kid had decided to awaken his Devil side and went berserk."

Keegan said as he put his hands in his waist.

"Why?"

The man in the white suit sounded confused.

"Those two are his parents."

Keegan answered him.

"Did he kill his parents then?"

The man was still not getting it.

"It doesn't look like it."

Keegan said.

Luckily enough, Neo's parents weren't burnt at all. Their Crucifixion abilities must have protected them, or maybe it was something else entirely different.
