Black smoke rose through shattered streets where buildings had collapsed earlier under the dragon's expanding power. Emergency sirens still screamed across the city, but they sounded smaller now—drowned beneath the vast storm raging in the heavens.
High above it all, Long Hao hovered.
His chest rose and fell slowly as he steadied his breathing. The void energy surrounding him had grown darker since the last exchange, curling around his body like the shadow of something enormous waiting beneath the surface.
