Chapter 28 - Blood Gong Tau

Chapter 0028 Blood Gong Tau

The security captain, who was very experienced, came forward to check. Of course, Bai Mei had nothing on her. Frank Fang said to the security captain, "This woman is young, beautiful, and has delicate, fair skin. She can't be a drug user, or her figure wouldn't be this sexy."

The captain looked at him, nodding in agreement. I patted Bai Mei's face. She slowly woke up and said, "My head hurts so much..."

I quickly said, "Having an episode again, are you? I've told you so many times. There are plenty of men out there. If he cheats, just find a replacement. You're so pretty, why worry about finding a boyfriend?"

Bai Mei hugged me tightly and cried softly. The security captain breathed a sigh of relief, stood up, and said to me, "Although she's not a drug user, you'd better not let her have another episode. If guests complain collectively, our hotel will be penalized, and you won't escape responsibility, understand?"

I repeatedly agreed, saying she only had one episode a day and that we would leave tomorrow. The security guards then left the room and began persuading the other guests to return to their rooms to rest. Just as I helped Bai Mei up to leave, I saw that her husband had somehow woken up. He was leaning against the wall, staggering past Arjan's room. I quickly shrank back. Frank Fang went to the door to look out and then frantically gestured for Bai Mei and me to come out quickly. I immediately helped her walk out.

Bai Mei's husband was like a sleepwalker, leaning on the wall and swaying, his eyes half-open, continuing to walk down the corridor. Frank Fang whispered, "Her husband is probably still under the influence of the medicine. Quickly send the client back to her room. We'll just say she never left." I thought, The old fox is experienced. I quickly pushed Bai Mei into her room and onto the bed, quietly telling her to pretend to be asleep. Her husband wasn't sober and definitely wouldn't know what happened. Bai Mei nodded gently. In fact, she didn't need to pretend; she was already asleep within five seconds.

I quickly slipped out. Bai Mei's husband was starting to walk back. Two security guards and a few guests who hadn't returned to their rooms looked at me suspiciously. I pretended nothing was wrong and slowly walked back to my room.

The next morning, the four of us went to the Western restaurant on the first floor for breakfast. Arjan Tam didn't seem to like Western food and only drank a glass of milk. I saw Bai Mei and her husband sitting a few tables away. Bai Mei looked energetic and was chatting and laughing, while her husband looked listless. Bai Mei saw me from a distance and subtly winked at me. Arjan Tam's apprentice said, "The Ghost Gong Tau on the female client has been broken. The spirit is temporarily contained in the Ying Ye (Bone/Head Skull), and the master will deal with it after returning to Thailand."

"Ying Ye? I didn't see it," I asked curiously.

Frank Fang said, "You saw it last night."

I recalled the events. "Was it that small, grayish-white saucer?"

The apprentice said, "That's the skull of the master's senior disciple who died several years ago. The master made it into a Bone Saucer Ying Ye."

As the four of us chatted, I kept an eye on Bai Mei. I saw her playing on her phone. Just then, my phone rang. It was a text message from her: "He said he threw up for half the night yesterday. It might be a side effect of the medicine. He doesn't want to go on the Pearl River cruise tonight. We're going back to Shenyang tomorrow. Is there anything we can do?"

I quietly told Arjan Tam the situation. He thought for a moment and said, "There are two methods. The first is for ordinary effects, such as a Needle Gong Tau, Insect Gong Tau, or Blood Gong Tau (Xue Jiang), which requires the target's hair, fresh blood, photo, and location. The second is for more powerful spells, such as Sickness Gong Tau (E Ji Jiang) or Ghost Gong Tau (Gui Jiang), which requires feeding the target's fresh blood to the Ying Ye and requires me to press on the top of his head for at least five minutes."

This was complicated. Bai Mei's husband and we were not familiar. How could we find an excuse to make contact? Even if introduced by a friend, we could at most shake hands. We couldn't possibly greet him by touching the top of his head for five minutes, could we? I texted Bai Mei back, informing her of the conditions, saying we might not have a chance to cast the spell on her husband this time and should try again later.

Just as we were about to finish eating, a loud scream suddenly came from Bai Mei's direction. Diners turned their heads to look. Bai Mei's husband had somehow sustained a large cut on his face, bleeding profusely. Bai Mei was helping him while constantly winking at me. I was a bit stunned and didn't react immediately. Frank Fang was quicker-witted and immediately stood up, signaling me and Arjan Tam to follow.

The four of us hurried over. Frank Fang and I went up and asked what was wrong. Bai Mei anxiously said, "I dropped my wallet on the floor just now, and he helped me pick it up. I was holding a dinner knife and went to pick it up too. When he stood up and raised his head, the knife accidentally cut him!"

"Oh dear, how could you be so careless? Quick, cover it with a handkerchief," I said.

Arjan Tam and Bai Mei supported her husband on either side. Arjan Tam pretended to examine the wound on Bai Mei's husband's face. The apprentice took the Ying Ye Bone Saucer out of his bag during the chaos. Arjan Tam put his hand behind his back, smeared the fresh blood from his hand onto the Bone Saucer, and held the saucer in his hand. With his other hand, he supported her husband's head from the back, placing his five fingers on the top of his head, and began softly chanting the incantation.

Two waiters ran over and asked, "What's wrong? Do you need to go to the hospital?"

Frank Fang quickly waved them off. "No need, no need. We can handle it ourselves." Strangely enough, Bai Mei's husband's eyes were half-closed, as if he was unconscious. He didn't move and let Arjan Tam press on the top of his head. Bai Mei covered her husband's wound with a handkerchief. It was quickly soaked in blood, so she changed it for another one. I secretly nodded to Bai Mei. She said, "Husband, let's go back to the room first." Then she and Arjan Tam helped Bai Mei's husband slowly walk out of the restaurant. Arjan continued to chant as they walked.

The group of us entered the elevator, finally helping her husband into their room and onto the bed. Arjan Tam stopped chanting and removed his hand from her husband's head. Frank Fang said, "The injury is so severe. Why aren't you taking him to the hospital? Hurry and call!" Bai Mei was startled and quickly took out her phone to call 120.

Arjan Tam handed the Ying Ye to his apprentice. The two of them walked out of the room. Frank Fang and I followed them. Arjan Tam's apprentice said, "The master has finished casting the Gong Tau."

I quickly asked, "Do you know which type of Gong Tau it is? What will the consequences be, and can he break it himself?"

The apprentice shook his head. "It's a Blood Gong Tau (Xue Jiang). When the master touched the wound on the client's face, it wasn't just to smear the client's fresh blood on the Ying Ye for the ritual. He also rubbed Gong Tau powder into the client's wound. The client will become sick within three days, experiencing coughing up blood, continuous bleeding from the wound, and vomiting blood. It will get worse and worse, leading to death in about six months. No one can typically break it except for my master, unless he seeks out someone more powerful than my master in Northern Thailand."

Hearing this, I was relieved. Frank Fang and I told Arjan Tam to return to Thailand first, promising to remit the remaining balance immediately. Arjan Tam and Frank Fang had a long-standing and good working relationship, so he agreed. I booked tickets for the three of them to leave the next day.

That evening, I informed Bai Mei of the situation via text message. She was delighted and also sent me her flight number, so I called to book a ticket for the same flight. That night, Frank Fang and I drank at a seafood restaurant by the Pearl River. Frank Fang said, "That female client named Bai Mei must be very good in bed, right?"

I laughed. "How do you know that?"

Frank Fang rolled his eyes. "I've been in the pleasure quarters for years! You've only been playing with women for a few days! That Bai Mei has almond-shaped eyes, full lips, a flirtatious aura, fair skin, and a curvaceous figure—a classic sign of unfulfilled desire. Did I get that right?"

I was so impressed I wanted to kneel down. I said, "I really need you to teach me more about this."

Frank Fang laughed heartily and ordered another two-kilogram lobster.

The next day, Frank Fang and the two Arjan Tam masters returned to Thailand, and I flew back to Shenyang. While boarding, I saw that Bai Mei and her husband's seats were about a dozen rows away from mine. Her husband had gauze taped to his face and looked very miserable. Bai Mei was attentively looking after him, occasionally glancing at me, her eyes full of satisfaction and affection.

A few days after returning to Shenyang, Bai Mei called and invited me out to dinner. She told me, "My husband suddenly started coughing up large amounts of blood yesterday. He went to the emergency room. The doctor suspected acute pneumonia, and it took half a day of IV fluids to stop the bleeding."

I said, "This is just the beginning. The real show is yet to come. He'll suffer a lot."

Bai Mei asked, "Will he die? Or will he just stay like this for life?"

I said, "Arjan's apprentice told me he won't live for more than a year."
