"Deniz Hakan Nur" the screen flashed showing the image of a sharp-looking man. His hooded eyes accentuated his perfect jawline. He wore a crisp black suit and radiated as "someone who doesn't give a crap, demeanor"
Belkis's green eyes were fixed on it, her hands then moved as she clicked on his profile, her head tilted as she watched him. Her finger then typed away.
"Hey"
...
From the other end sat, Nur. He sighed over and over as he hesitantly picked up his phone. Viney hands clutching around it. His eyes then darted over the picture of a woman.
"Belkis Derya Yildiz" My eyes lazily went to her profile; I was fairly uninterested. After all, the past events still clung to me like a perfume, giving me a migraine. The recent death of my mother had left me utterly confused. She had been very well then but...
Gosh... I slumped back in my seat, running a hand through my hair. My mother... I clenched my jaw as I recalled her gracious face. My only comfort in this cold world, the only one I trusted with my entire self. I had fought my late father; those were times I now regret. Yet My mother took no side and comforted the both of us and soon after, we reunited. My mother was my everything--without her, life felt empty, hollower than a void.
Then--Her pleading voice tugged at me. She had urged me to consider marriage right after father's death. Though I had rejected it as I didn't want to put up with the past drama, I went through with Eylin...
I let out an even deeper sigh as I then reluctantly replied.
Few minutes passed, nothing. Her lips then dropped in a pout as she gazed at the blank screen. Maybe he was busy... a thought tugged at her. Just as she was about to scroll away
--Ding*
Her heart leapt to her throat as she stared at the message that chimed in.
"Yes"...
Belkis's brows furrowed, the hell you mean by, yes?... she shook her head in amusement. Maybe he was just nervous. Though still... she gazed at his picture, at his effortless elegance, at his disheveled dirty blonde hair. A man like wouldn't be like this; he probably had thousands of girls before her.
Then--"Sorry, I'm a bit flustered"...
No need to...
I'm Belkis, as you see in my profile
"Well, it's nice to talk with you, Mrs. Belkis"
She messaged me not even a second after I did. I then called for my secretary, Cagan. He entered the room. Cagan was like a friend, there was nothing he didn't know of me.
Yes, Nur? why did you call me... he mumbled then his eyes went to the screen Infront of me--Cagan was taken a back as he looked at the messages.
He then cleared his throat, amused. "Nur...what are you doing?" he asked, bamboozled. Nur shrugged, "just doing what my mother wanted"....
You know... his eyes flickered to the pile of paper Infront of him. There lay confidantes that were to be only read by him. Past contracts, data of his companies and whatnot.
Nur then reached for a glass of sparkling water. Hands clasping the delicate edge he swirled the drink one or two times, then took a gulp.
Cagan loosened as he then tapped in near him, "Ah... yes, producing an heir"
Nur spat it out, he then coughed uncontrollably and shot him a look. "Y-You"... he murmured, raising to his seat.
Cagan let out a low chuckle, oh, if only I recorded it, he then leaned in, tapping at the table as his eyes went to the screen.
"O-Okay"...
There on the marriage site was the face of a woman, her hair covered by the loosely hanging veil.
Nur smirked proudly as he saw the clear shock in his friend's eyes then ushered him to lower his gaze.
Cagan fake frowned as he stepped back.
Nur and her, continued talking. Cagan stood there, wondering whether he should leave.
"Why did you call me" he asked. He then narrowed his eyes, "Or is it to just smear the fact that you are talking your way with a girl?"
Nur tilted his head, then gleefully shook it. Cagan...If I wanted to do that, I would do it anytime...but right now...
Now...?
Gosh...patience is virtue...
Cagan grinned, "and I don't have any"
No, you don't... Nur's eyes flickered. "Well, I didn't want to go through this alone"
What do you mean...? Cagan questioned. Why are you talking in puzzles?
I... Nur then stood up, turning his face towards the enormous sight through his penthouse windows. The city of Istanbul stood Infront of him.
He then looked at a confused Cagan, "I had a family, I did, back when I married Eylin" his voice broke, "my mother treated her as her daughter, handed her the family jewelry, yet you know what happened"
He ran a hand through his tousled hair, over and over like a broken man. She threw me away like a piece of garbage... all for that sly son of...
Cagan leapt to him, he then locked his arms around his shoulder blade and hugged him.
Stop... forget it... she herself wasn't that good anyway.
Nur smiled weakly, "the reason I called you was to be here with me, when I talk to a woman"
Cagan nodded. He had known it. This was their tradition, their religion, Islam.
"I won't allow myself to be tempted and make a wrong decision"
"You won't, Nur, even if you want to, be sure I won't let you" they brotherly hugged, patting at each other's backs.

Belkis smiled internally as she then began to type away. They chatted for a bit. He asked for her father's number and with that, they agreed to meet each other.
