Chapter 103: Eye Technique - Yūga no Ikari
Yūga no Ikari!(Wrath of the Elegant Moon)
Uchiha Kazuki parted his lips slightly, his voice clearly echoing across the frozen lakeside.
His slender fingertips, moving as if pushed by an invisible force, gently touched the surface of the Tailed Beast Bomb—and at that precise moment, space-time itself seemed to freeze completely.
"Huh?"
White Zetsu's pupils widened dramatically, his face filled with utter confusion.
The Tailed Beast Bomb... had simply stopped in place, appearing as if it had been halted by a single finger. The entire scene radiated an aura of impossible shock.
What exactly just happened?
The only certainty was that Kazuki-sama must have used his Mangekyō eye technique.
It was just that the entire process had been far too mysterious and instantaneous—impossible to perceive exactly what kind of ability had been activated.
To make a Tailed Beast Bomb that was mere moments from detonation obediently stop in place—White Zetsu had never heard of such an eye technique before!
"How is this even possible?!"
Kushimaru Kuriarare stared at this scene in absolute horror, his eyes bloodshot with disbelief.
He couldn't accept that the precious opportunity Jūzō Biwa had purchased with his very life—redirecting the ultimate technique of a Tailed Beast—had resulted in... this!
"It's quite simple, actually."
Uchiha Kazuki spoke calmly, the stationary Tailed Beast Bomb reflected perfectly in his Mangekyō Sharingan, as if countless tiny points of light were moving and shifting within those crimson pupils.
In his enhanced vision, the entire Tailed Beast Bomb—from its most fundamental atomic structure to the precise mechanism of its formation, the exact ratio and composition of its chakra mixture—all its information and deepest secrets were laid completely bare before him, like examining a dissected specimen under perfect laboratory conditions.
"The critical weakness is... right here."
He gently pressed his fingertip against a specific point.
Pop!
A tiny sound—like popping a delicate soap bubble—rang out clearly.
Then, the massive Tailed Beast Bomb, several meters in diameter, actually burst apart like a fragile bubble with that single finger touch, without causing any explosion or collateral damage whatsoever.
It was as if the Tailed Beast Bomb had been instantly deconstructed and restored to the raw chakra compressed within its core structure.
And this was the eye technique associated with his right Mangekyō Sharingan—Yūga no Ikari(Wrath of the Elegant Moon)!
It allowed him to perceive the fundamental truth of all things and comprehend their basic structural composition, thereby enabling him to reconstruct or completely destroy everything he fully knew and understood.
However, such an overwhelmingly powerful eye technique also carried significant drawbacks.
Each process of analyzing and deconstructing unknown phenomena consumed massive amounts of ocular power, and without careful control, he risked permanent blindness in fewer than ten uses.
Furthermore, attempting to comprehend and deconstruct entities far beyond his current level of existence—things operating on a fundamentally higher dimensional plane—greatly reduced the success rate of deconstruction while exponentially increasing ocular power consumption, potentially even leading to irreversible blindness of the Mangekyō Sharingan itself!
"Phew... I need to use this ability much more sparingly in the future."
Uchiha Kazuki took a deep, steadying breath, allowing his eyes to return to their normal three-tomoe state. Clutching his throbbing right eye socket, he sighed with genuine resignation. "The ocular power consumption is far too extreme. Deconstructing just a single Tailed Beast Bomb consumed a full tenth of my total eye power reserves. If it weren't for the First Hokage's cells stabilizing and regenerating my vision, I would go completely blind after only a handful of uses."
High risk, high reward.
Even acknowledging its incredible power, he still preferred not to rely on it frequently.
At the very least, compared to his right eye's devastating abilities, he felt his left eye's technique was far more practical and suitable for regular combat applications.
Unfortunately, his left eye's technique had been deployed elsewhere and was currently unavailable, otherwise he would have already utilized it instead.
"What the hell did you just do?!"
Kushimaru Kuriarare couldn't help but shout desperately, utterly unable to comprehend why the Tailed Beast Bomb had suddenly vanished into nothingness.
"Didn't you witness it with your own eyes?" Uchiha Kazuki turned around slowly, looking at the horrified Kushimaru with a faint smile. "As you clearly saw, I simply deconstructed the Tailed Beast Bomb and restored it back to its base chakra components."
"Of course I saw that happen!" Kushimaru's veins bulged dangerously on his forehead, his eyes fixed on Kazuki as if staring at some incomprehensible eldritch horror. Even he couldn't tell whether what he felt was pure fear or existential terror. "What I'm asking is—what kind of jutsu did you use to deconstruct a fully formed Tailed Beast Bomb back into raw chakra?!"
He had witnessed countless ninjutsu throughout his career, including many bizarre and unusual techniques.
But he had never—never—seen a jutsu that could instantaneously deconstruct an already-formed ninjutsu technique back into its component chakra!
If such an ability truly existed in this world, it would be terrifying beyond all comprehension!
"No... I have to warn the Mizukage about this immediately!"
Kushimaru shuddered violently. He instantly realized that if the Mizukage wasn't informed of this critical intelligence, he might genuinely be assassinated!
But just as this urgent thought crystallized in his mind...
Whoosh!
Uchiha Kazuki suddenly teleported directly beside Kushimaru using the Body Flicker Technique.
"Now that you've witnessed my Mangekyō ability firsthand, I simply cannot allow you to live."
As he spoke these words calmly, his hand seemed to brush almost casually against Kushimaru's exposed throat.
Sizzle.
A thin crimson line slowly appeared across his neck.
Kushimaru Kuriarare belatedly registered what had just occurred and frantically clutched at his throat, his pupils dilating to their absolute limits.
The moment he opened his mouth to speak, blood gushed forth violently. His severed neck spurted arterial spray in rhythmic pulses. His face filled with absolute terror as he instinctively stumbled backward two steps, desperately trying to articulate something—but with both his trachea and carotid artery completely severed, he could only produce meaningless, gurgling sounds.
He reached out desperately, trying to grab his assassin, but could only wave his hand weakly and uselessly through empty air.
Finally, the light faded completely from Kushimaru Kuriarare's eyes, and he collapsed heavily to the frozen ground with a dull thud.
Thump!
With Kushimaru's death, the legendary Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist were officially declared completely annihilated.
"Kushimaru-sama!!!"
The remaining Kirigakure Hunter-nin operatives cried out in unified anguish upon witnessing this.
Today, they had witnessed the fall of their last two legendary swordsmen. From this day forward, Kirigakure would never again possess a complete Seven Ninja Swordsmen!
"Now then... it's your turn."
Uchiha Kazuki turned his cold gaze toward the remaining operatives and began walking toward them step by methodical step.
Dealing with these minor threats required very little actual effort. He utilized the Body Flicker Technique to move with blinding speed, then casually snapped the neck of one Hunter-nin with brutal efficiency.
One, two, three...
Until finally reaching the last remaining operative, who—having no realistic hope of escape—was grabbed by the throat and lifted effortlessly into the air.
"STOP—!"
Just then, a furious, commanding voice rang out from behind him.
"M-Mizukage-sama!"
A desperate glimmer of hope appeared in the dangling Hunter-nin's fading eyes.
However, Uchiha Kazuki acted as if he hadn't heard anything at all, tightening his grip slightly before giving a sharp twist.
CRACK!
The Hunter-nin's neck snapped cleanly.
The hope that had just begun to kindle was instantly extinguished. A trace of unfulfilled longing shone in the operative's eyes as he drew his final, unwilling breath.
Uchiha Kazuki casually tossed the corpse aside like discarded refuse, then turned around leisurely. Adjusting his glasses with his index finger, he revealed a politely reserved smile. "Ah, my sincere apologies. It's entirely your fault for speaking too slowly. I didn't hear you clearly and accidentally snapped his neck anyway."
"Uchiha Kazuki!"
The newcomer possessed long black hair that danced wildly around him like a vengeful demon's mane.
"That would indeed be me."
Uchiha Kazuki chuckled with modest amusement. "It's a genuine pleasure to finally meet you in person, Third Mizukage-sama."
"Good. Very good. Just look at what you've done!!!"
The Third Mizukage's sharp gaze swept rapidly across the entire devastated battlefield, taking in the corpses of Jūzō Biwa, Kushimaru Kuriarare, and all the fallen Hunter-nin.
His already severe features became even more sinister and twisted. His eyes blazed with volcanic rage, and his voice turned cruelly cold with barely restrained fury: "Uchiha Kazuki—I want you dead and buried here alongside them! You will pay for this massacre with your life!"
"Of course, Mizukage-sama."
Uchiha Kazuki smiled pleasantly, beckoning forward with one finger in clear invitation. "However, the necessary prerequisite is that you actually have to be capable of accomplishing that feat."
