After giving a few moments for the old man to let out his sorrows and cries, Lord Wang Zhi Yi banged the gavel twice, but this time, with grace and softness. "Well, with this proof, Mr.Cheng, what do you say ?" The old man, looked over to Lord Wang Zhi Yi and nodded his head, while he shed his last few tears.
"It's his, it's my son..." he cries, while gripping onto the letter, as it was the last thing he had of his son. The young maiden couldn't help, glancing over, she felt terrible for keeping such a secret from the old man, but in the end, it was what his son would've wanted.
"With this, I hereby rule in this court, that this young maiden... is innocent. The court case, shall now be dismissed." Lord Wang Zhi Yi says, projecting his voice loudly, echoes of his voice flew through the courtroom. Slowly everyone started to walk out of the courtroom, only leaving the young maiden, her son, the old man, Yi Rong, Chi Meng, Lord Wang Zhi Yi and the royal guards.
The old man was still on the floor, as if he was glued onto it ! On the other hand, Lord Wang Zhi Yi started to go through other scrolls, seems that he had more cases to go through. By the sight of this, Yi Rong already felt exhausted, it was only the first case of the day, and it was already hectic ! How could someone have such strong willpower to go through each one of these cases.
"I apologise, but the two of you will have to exit the courtroom, oh and your son... as my next case is about to begin." Lord Wang Zhi Yi says, while is lightly banged the scrolls together on the table, despite the intensive case earlier he looks as calm and normal ! Looks like he just woke up from a slumber night. He then made his was down the bench to Yi Rong and Chi Meng.
"Thank you for the both of you for joining the court case, though it didn't go as what I would've planned for... Well but they said life is like a rocky road, it's uneven and you'll never know what's ahead of you !" He says in a much happier tone.
"Thank you Lord Wang Zhi Yi, for giving us the experience of being in a courtroom and court case, though it seems that we didn't have the opportunity to help you as you have wished for..." Chi Meng says, while Yi Rong stands there like a plank, he seems to be the expressionless one this time.
"Haha, no worries... At least this court case ended properly..." Lord Wang Zhi Yi says, as the 3 of them slowly look towards the old man, seems that the young maiden had helped him up, clutching him tight, making sure that the old man is confident in every step. Guiding is was out of the courtroom, as the old man held her tight too, as he limps forward, while she walks with grace, along with the help of the young maiden's son, gripping onto the old man's other side. It seems that they've accomplished Cheng Yin Lan's last wish.
"I guess she is the "son" the man couldn't have." Lord Wang Zhi Yi mumbled softly, while softly smiling at the sight of them finally bonding after years of hatred, "Well, I won't waste your time anymore ! Thank you once again for your presence here, it was nice meeting you Mr. Tian, and it was surely amazing to see you again Tai Zi ! I wish you both the best in you adventures ! Till we meet again." He says, while giving a slight bow.
"Thank you Lord Wang Zhi Yi." Chi Meng and Yi Rong say in unison unintentionally, while bowing at the same degree ! They both immediately exchange looks of annoyance. Lord Wang Zhi Yi couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. Without wasting a second, they wished Lord Wang Zhi Yi farewell once again, before setting of to their next journey.
"Well, did I earn any points from this ?" Yi Rong asks curiously, while poking Chi Meng gently.
"Yes you did," Chi Meng says, with a serious expression. Yi Rong eye's immediately lit up !
"Wait really !" He exclaimed joyfully.
"Yeah, you earned the points of knowledge." Chi Meng said, with a dead pan face. Yi Rong immediately jumped, "What !" Yi Rong shouted unbelievably, Chi Meng covered his ears within an instant, "Do not shout in my ear." He says frustratedly.
"You scammer ! What do you mean by point of knowledge !" Yi Rong cries out loud. Chi Meng lifted his arm, and flicked Yi Rong's forehead hard ! "OUCH !" screamed Yi Rong.
"You gained the knowledge of learning the struggles of a human." Chi Meng says, while looking deeply in Yi Rong's eyes. Yi Rong could only look back at him, they stared at each other for a few seconds before Yi Rong looked away and said, "Ahem," he coughed, "And how is that going to help me?" He says without a worry in his thought.
"It will help you understand that humans already are going through many struggles in life, and on top of you vandalising their houses, and bullying them, adds on way more trouble than you think." Chi Meng lectures Yi Rong.
"So what ?" Yi Rong says sarcastically, Chi Meng immediately turned his head to him, he thought to himself, 'Does this guy know what sympathy is or is he just mentally ill...' "Humans aren't any better, don't they torture other creatures more ? Then isn't it fair that we punish them." Yi Rong says, no longer with a playful tone. Clearly both of them were on different sides.
Chi Meng thought for a long time, but all he could do is stay silent. Yi Rong wasn't wrong, but he wasn't right either... Yi Rong looks at Chi Meng, at one glance, he scoffs, 'Hah, a cat bit his tongue.'
"You're not wrong, but you're not right either. Humans may have done unimaginable things to other creatures, even their own kind. But doesn't mean we should avenge them with violence. That'll just bring more trouble." Chi Meng says.
"Well then, how does Tai Zi Dian Xia proclaim to make a 'change' for these demented beings." Yi Rong says in a much rather furious tone. Crossing his arms, while looking at Chi Meng with a frown, the word mad was practically written all across his face !
Chi Meng couldn't help but turn away, as Yi Rong reminded him of an angry small hamster, he covered his mouth with his left arm, trying to stay professional, and not laugh too loudly. But despite that, Yi Rong could still hear the small chuckles from Chi Meng.
Yi Rong angry as a lion from Chi Meng's reaction, slams his arms onto his hips, "What's wrong with you." he looked confused, but knew it was about him. However he wasn't helping his own case ! His new pose made Chi Meng break his character, he immediately hunched over, trying to control his laughter, as Yi Rong angrily throws punches onto him, "You bastard, what are you laughing at !" he screamed.
But, their fight was soon interrupted, a man dressed in a dark and loose Paofu (袍服, traditional Chinese robe), covering his whole body shape, along with a farmer's hat, that had a thick black veil on it, which covered the face of the man. He was running frantically, and had bumped into Yi Rong by accident. Chi Meng was about to confront him, but when the mysterious man saw Yi Rong, he seems as scared as a mouse when they see a cat !
The mysterious man looked like he was about to say something, but only whimpers came out. Chi Meng took a quick looked and noticed Yi Rong's foot pressing onto the mysterious man's foot. At that moment, before Chi Meng could react, Yi Rong shifted his foot off, and the mysterious man ran even faster away from them.
When Chi Meng looked over, wanting to question Yi Rong, he noticed his entire expression had changed... He went from a playful cat, playing around, to a tiger ready to pounce onto it's prey. Yi Rong stared deeply into the direction of the mysterious man.
'It hasn't even been a day...' Yi Rong thought, as he sighed deeply. He lightly pulled Chi Meng's sleeve, gesturing him to move along, as they set sailed deeper into the city of Zhou Yü...
