When the sky had grown dark, Noel had just arrived at the turn of the Mansion where he lived. He had spent the whole day traveling with Alastair to places that interested him. He hadn't expected to enjoy their time together so much, especially since he usually got bored very easily when going out with other people.
But with the Alpha, it was like discovering a whole new world, one that was perfect for someone like him.
"I think I should thank you for today. You took me to interesting places, not boring ones. I don't usually enjoy things like this," he said.
Alastair nodded contentedly when he heard that. "I'm glad to hear that. That was my goal in taking you out, not to make you feel bored, but to entertain you with what I had prepared for you."
Noel nodded with a smile, hoping that Alastair would take him out like that again. He thought that he was the only man who seemed to understand what he really liked.
Since it was already 8:30 PM, Noel used his skateboard to return to the Ashford mansion, as he was sure Regis would be coming home soon.
And sure enough, as soon as he walked through the front door, Regis was waiting there with his arms folded across his chest. It turned out he had arrived earlier than Noel had expected.
"Where have you been? You haven't replied to any of my messages all day. And the guards said you left early this morning and just got back? Don't you remember you have a home?" Regis asked sternly.
However, Noel defended himself, saying that he had only gone out with his friends.
"Besides, I'm 21 years old now. Legally, I've been an adult for three years. So I can make any decision I want."
"I know that. But just because you're an adult doesn't mean you can go wherever you want without telling your family. What if someone suddenly kidnapped you? What if you became a hostage because our family has so many enemies!"
Or worse, Regis imagined Noel becoming the target of revenge from another mafia group that was their enemy. That made him so afraid; he didn't want to lose Noel, who was his only family.
"You always overreact! I'm fine. Look, I'm back with my body intact and nothing broken. Your fears are too exaggerated for you to think about," replied Noel stubbornly with his decision.
What Regis said was indeed quite exaggerated, but he had already taken into account the number of enemies they had and the harsh life in a mafia family.
Especially since Noel is an Omega, both physically and in terms of his Omega nature, he will never be able to truly defeat an Alpha alone.
"I'm not exaggerating! I'm worried about you as your older brother. Can't you just once see things from my perspective, that I don't want you to leave like our father and mother did?!"
He began to raise his voice in front of Noel, shouting at him so loudly. Even without realizing it, his threatening pheromones spread, making the atmosphere suffocating. Even the servants, who were also Omegas, felt terrified when they were near him.
Feeling the strong and dark pheromones, Noel's body reflexively went limp and he clutched his chest. Cold sweat drenched his forehead, his legs began to tremble, but he still tried to stay strong.
Realizing he had gone too far, Regis regained control of his pheromones and suppressed the threatening pheromones that had already spread throughout the room.
"I'm sorry. I'm truly sorry, I didn't mean to scare you like that." The man walked towards his younger brother, begging for forgiveness, but Noel immediately pushed his hand away.
With the help of several servants, he went to his room feeling annoyed. Regis immediately felt so sorry after accidentally making Noel angry at him like that. He hated himself for accidentally making Omega feel threatened around him.
As a family member, he should have protected him, not scared him.
"Fuck, fuck, FUCK!" he shouted angrily.
In his room, Noel lay on the bed, sighing. One of the servants placed a glass of cold water and a lemon cake on the table and left the room.
All day long, he had felt so happy because he was able to go out with someone who he felt understood what he liked. But sometimes he forgot that there would be someone who would not be happy about it.
Even so, he couldn't hate Regis, who had raised him all this time. Regis had replaced his parents, who had been gone for a long time.
"Ugh... This is so annoying. I just wanted to have fun, but Regis keeps doing that. He even used his pheromones on me. Why did I have to be born an Omega? Damn it," he said angrily.
Ding!
Suddenly, a message popped up on Noel's phone. He immediately opened it, and it turned out to be from Alastair.
[ALASTAIR]
Hey feisty, did you get home okay?
[NOEL]
Yeah, I got home and received a warm welcome from Regis.
[ALASTAIR]
Ahahaha... I knew that would happen.
They exchanged messages until late at night, Noel replying while enjoying his cake. They joked and laughed through their messages, talking about their fun day until Noel finally fell asleep with his phone still in his hand.
Alastair, who thought Noel was asleep again, replied to his message, certain that the Omega was already asleep.
That day, he was truly satisfied with his achievement of being able to go out alone with the Omega he wanted. As a dominant Alpha and also a mafia boss, he could have easily gotten the Omega with just one word.
But that felt boring to him.
And seeing how Noel behaved so differently from the Omegas who always threw themselves at him, it made him feel refreshed.
"I can't wait to see him again next time. What should I prepare to truly win his heart?"
"Are you really trying to pursue that Omega? You're acting like a teenager in love, you know that?" asked a blond haired man who was his right hand man and cousin, Kenneth.
"You always ruin other people's fun. Party pooper."
Kenneth rolled his eyes when he was called that. Sometimes he wondered why he could be loyal to a mafia boss like Alastair. But he knew that the alpha in front of him couldn't be underestimated, even though he sometimes seemed very relaxed about the dark life of the mafia.
"I'm tired of omegas throwing themselves at me. Hoping I'll make them my mate. Heh, Keep dreaming..." Alastair stared at his messages with Noel.
His previously sharp gaze softened momentarily as he reread each conversation with that Omega.
Slowly, his possessive side emerged when he truly wanted that Omega to be his mate.
"I won't rush and will enjoy every second with him. But one thing's for sure, he'll always be mine."
