Chapter 6 - ME...

Hmm! I can't say I am living a perfect life. Truth is, and as in truth I mean undeniable, I am perfect, just that my life isn't. I don't know if anyone gets it but anyway. No one ever seems to. Life is not the same for all of us; to some it's straight, I guess. But to some of us it is as if we're not at the bottom rung of society. We usually feel we don't actually exist. I sometimes feel like I am immortal, like I can't die, because I was actually never alive in the first place. I only live because I live, not because I want to. Sometimes it feels like we're just outsiders in our own lives.

I tried to calm my emotions down as I looked at Rishie. Like what in God's name was she doing here anyway? I could tell she was also confused by this turn up of events. Before she could utter any word, Granny pulled me in while assuring me that she was in urgent need of a plumber. Well, it's what I had come here for; this was a side job of mine—one of the many I had to attend to to cater for my living expenses.

I was led (by hand) to the sink that I was required to work on. Leaving me to my means, Granny swiftly left as I pulled out my tools from my working bag. Someone wasn't settled where they were. She couldn't hold back her irritation, she furiously moved close to where I was!

"Aren't you tired of running after me?" she proudly asked.

"I have no time for you, so shuu... scram away like a cat! I have better things to do." I absentmindedly replied.

Rishie nearly fainted on the floor, she had never met such a disgusting fellow. Why did he have to be so rude? And what was with his attitude like he had seen all the world!

"Why are you working like a plumber, Luke?" she asked.

"Is it any of your business, you beauty without brains?" I annoyedly asked.

Standing up, I removed my cloak because I felt so hot. I was only dressed in pants (short ones) inside. Rishie's face turned red in an instant. The sweat on my skin glistened in the light and it all added to my charm. My muscles, perfected as they are, exuded out of my hot body. She could not hold back her anxiety; I moved closer to her. She held her chest, her heart was pumping at an impossible rate. She tried to move back but she was blocked by the wall.

I moved closer, by then her breathing had become two times faster. Her body was heating up super fast. I smiled, noticing her dilemma. I moved closer, we were now only one metre apart. Rishie didn't know what to do; it was as if she was no longer in control of her own body. I closed the distance in a few steps and could feel her heart thumping louder by the moment. She couldn't even utter out a single word. At last she tried:

"W-what..." she stammeringly commented.

With my usual haughtiness, I placed my arm on the wall next to her, just above her shoulder. Rishie felt despair at that moment. She closed her eyes as my face inched closer to hers.
