The warehouse looked exactly like something from a crime thriller....abandoned, isolated, surrounded by chain-link fencing that had seen better days. Aria sat in the back of Damien's car, her stomach twisting with anxiety as they pulled up to the rusted metal entrance.
She'd asked to come. Needed to see Victoria's punishment with her own eyes. Needed to witness the woman who'd tried to destroy her finally face consequences.
But now, sitting here in the cold February evening, she wondered if she'd made a terrible mistake.
"Are you sure you want to see this?" Damien asked from beside her, his hand warm on her thigh. "I can handle it alone. You can wait in the car."
"No. I need to see it. Need to see her face consequences." Aria looked at him, at the man she loved, and saw something in his eyes that made her shiver. Something cold. Remote. Dangerous.
