Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Visit from the Ancient One

Tony hung up, turned off the phone, silently counted to sixty, powered it back on, and dialed again.

"Alright, Tony… I admit I got a little emotional just now. But you understand, right?" Rhode's helpless voice came through the moment the call connected. "I'm already on my way to pick you up. Stay put and be careful."

"OK."

Tony casually replied, hung up, and tossed the phone to Mu Qiu, who was walking toward him. He frowned, pinching his nose slightly.

"I really think you should shower and change. The smell is awful."

"This shop owner says he's too lazy to bother with you—and throws a pig's head at you."

"—What the hell?! Where did you get a pig's head?!"

Tony lunged sideways, barely dodging the incoming pork projectile.

Mu Qiu rolled his eyes, walked over to Yinsen, found a flat stone to sit on, and pulled out a bottle of whiskey from his storage space. He took a long drink, letting the adrenaline fade.

Wiping out almost a hundred people without the slightest emotional ripple…

Do I have a psychological problem?

Mu Qiu frowned inwardly. Then again, this world was far from peaceful. If he wasn't ruthless, he'd be the one buried here.

"Hey, give me some." Tony leaned over.

Mu Qiu glanced at him, then casually tossed him a business card and a bottle of whiskey. Standing up, he dusted off his pants and headed toward the destroyed cave.

Tony wasn't wrong—he looked terrible. A shower and clean clothes were overdue.

As for healing? No need.

Gourmet Hunters were absurdly resilient. His wounds had already closed during the fight.

"The payment for the meal—once you get back, send it to the address on the card. I don't imagine the great Tony Stark would default on such a tiny bill."

With that, Mu Qiu jumped into the opening he had created, found the wooden door, pulled it open, and stepped inside—returning to his restaurant.

As he disappeared, the wooden door grew faint, then vanished entirely.

Tony leaned against a boulder, holding the business card between two fingers. Name, address, contact info, and the bill were neatly written.

He chuckled.

He hadn't expected his reputation to be so widespread—even a cross-dimensional restaurant knew him. His pride felt inexplicably satisfied. He decided he'd pay double.

Whether the restaurant truly spanned dimensions? That didn't matter right now. He couldn't verify it anyway. He'd just accept the bizarre information that had popped into his mind when he entered the place. Eventually, the truth would reveal itself.

Time passed.

Several helicopters thundered in from the horizon and landed.

Rhode jumped out first, sprinted toward him, and pulled him into a hug.

Only then did Tony feel himself fully returning from the surreal chaos of the day.

"Long time no see," he murmured with a soft smile.

Meanwhile, Mu Qiu had returned to the restaurant, washed up, changed clothes, and sat by the window. He called up the system panel.

"Almost there. Once Tony pays the bill, the wooden door will open to the next world."

The Marvel world had only mundane ingredients.

The Gourmet World, however, held countless high-grade delicacies—yet they were guarded by terrifying beasts.

With his current strength, he could only safely harvest materials from the Human World.

The Gourmet World's eight continents…

Each one as large as the entire Human World.

Commonplace ingredients there would be legendary treasures elsewhere.

But the danger—countless walking natural disasters.

If he went now, a random passing beast might step on him, or a predatory plant might swallow him before he even realized.

"I just hope the next world isn't too strong. Ideally one with more edible ingredients…"

As he thought this, the doorbell chimed.

"Hello, are you still open?"

The Ancient One stepped in, wearing her iconic yellow sorcerer's robe. She sat across from Mu Qiu with the ease of a regular patron.

"We're open. What would you like today? I recommend the mixed vegetable salad, the White-Haired Cinderella Steak—great for beauty—and the Rainbow Cocktail brewed from Rainbow Fruit."

Mu Qiu rubbed his face, stood up, poured her a glass of Air Water from the Gourmet World, and walked toward the kitchen.

The Ancient One had come on the very day he transmigrated, and she'd visited once every day since. They were familiar with each other now.

"That's fine. You decide."

She never made specific requests—she didn't know the ingredients anyway, so she always left it to the chef.

"Please wait a moment."

The Rainbow Cocktail was already prepared. He only needed to make the salad and steak. Mu Qiu tied his apron and took out creamy pine mushrooms, almond cabbage, various vegetables, and steak from his storage space.

Why not use a refrigerator?

Because the storage space preserved ingredients perfectly—no loss of freshness.

Though Mu Qiu was a money-grubber whose dishes were notoriously expensive, he would never cheap out on ingredients. Quality always came first.

"Why did you suddenly help Tony Stark?"

The Ancient One took a sip of Air Water, watching him work. She had long taken interest in this mysterious restaurant that connected to many dimensions. His battle in the desert had not escaped her notice.

"Nothing much—just wanted to make a friend. And…"

Mu Qiu didn't bother finishing the second half aloud. Testing his own strength was his real motive, but there was no need to tell her.

He placed the dishes on the table.

"Mixed vegetable salad, steak, and Rainbow Cocktail. Please enjoy."
